I was visiting Astoria and looking for a quick and cheap basic manicure. Agata Nails was nearby and didn't have much of a wait. Mary was my nail tech and did a great job. She was kind and patient. The place is very small, but they do have a bathroom. Head to the back of the shop and take a spiral staircase down to find it. Looks like they offer other 'spa' services in a room down there too. The price can't be beat at $13 for a basic manicure that lasted maybe 5 days before I got a little chip. I should have gotten the basic pedicure too. Just $20! Overall, good for a quick manicure. I'd recommend bringing cash as some places charge for credit card use.

So happy with my mani pedi here! I had to have gel from another salon removed which was an additional charge but it was well worth it. The ladies were so gentle and thorough and created a really calm atmosphere.

Got the set done for $90 at 5:30pm yesterday. One nail has already fallen off by 12pm today.

I was talked into getting SGS extensions for $90 and told they would last 3 to 4 weeks. Less than 24 hours later, one nail already fell off. And no, I wasn't doing anything intensive that might have put extraneous pressure on it, I was just styling my hair. I am livid and want a refund.

2-3 hours later gel pedicure with Monica

They took me as a walk in which I wholeheartedly appreciate but IUNACCEPTABLE ATTITUDE AND SERVICE!! At best zero stars. A gel pedicure 60$. Fine pricey but I have had 1 good pedicure here 3 years ago. Wtf was I thinking!!!!? 4 out of 10 nails peeled off in less than 3 hrs. They agreed to redo no refund was offered. Monica which I specifically came to sadly was the rudest person all because I asked for it to be corrected. Even took a piece of skin off and huffed and puffed for her error. See the photos don't waste your time of money.

Warning- this is a little graphic - Waited 15 mins after arriving with an appointment, in the small, cramped salon. Sit down for a pedicure and all of a sudden I look down and my toe and its bleeding everywhere after the girl was cleaning the cuticles around the nail bed. The technician didn't even say anything and was frantically trying to clean it up. Then, smudged the other bit of the toe which I didn't even notice until i was trying to clean up the blood myself. Although it was only $16 for a pedicure, you get what you pay for. Small, crowded and cramped salon, which was also a bit dirty, and poor service.

Thrilled with the service here. The most important thing to me is a clean paint job. My cuticles are cleaned up and my polish is clean, no choppy edges or bubbles. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon before the holiday, and I only waited 10 min. My mani was done in the pedi chair since it was crowded and I was okay with this. The salon is small, but they make it work. Everyone is pleasant. Fair prices, excellent job. Will gladly return.

I have been coming to Agata Nails now for nearly 2 1/2 years. I do the Synergy Nail gel with Monica for 2 years. She does a great job of my making my nails are natural as possible (I like them thin, rounded square and not too long). Diana and Mary are great at the pedicures too!

Perfectly filed, shaped, cleaned, polished and overall executed manicure. The ladies are friendly, but get down to business with little to no chatting at all. I described the color I wanted and one of the girls located it immediately. I am so happy with the results that if I'm ever in the area again I would definitely go back. Highly recommend!

Very easy to make an appointment! $30 for a gel mani, $20 for a regular pedi. I can't justify paying $70+ for these services so definitely on the cheaper side for Astoria. Mary worked on me and as you can see, she did such a clean job. I recommend:)

Gel manicure after 3 days by Mary - with flash

It's my second time there and i got my first service with Mary, i also requested her to do the second time i visited. The staff are really nice and pleasant. This is my nails: manicured and gel by Mary. Also, the pedicure is worth it.

Gel Filling (done 3 weeks ago)

3 Weeks in and they still look like I got them done just a couple days ago! Love love love this place and highly recommend anyone who needs perfect nails for imperfect weeks. The people there are so lovely, respectful and sweet. I would advise to call ahead, especially for any gel fillings (which I get). I work with my hands and it never chips off, strong and cute! During the week, in the middle of the day it's not crazy pact BUT still call. They are so good that it's worth the wait.

prices... better than the city

I was searching for a place nearby to get a pedicure for my birthday because I rarely get a pedicure, only on special occasions. So of course I searched on yelp. This place received raving reviews. So of course, I had to check it out for myself. I arrived and waited for about 5 minutes. Not so bad. It's a small place but very clean. There are 3 massage chairs where you sit for a pedicure. It was nice to get a massage and I think 3 stations where you get a manicure. They have a good enough selection of nail polish, however I brought my own. The woman was very nice and friendly. I first asked for a regular pedicure but 5 minutes later I changed my mind and asked for the mint spa pedicure. I'm glad I did. She took her time and did a perfect job on applying the nail polish on my nails. After this experience, I think I will be getting a pedicure more often now.

I wish my eyebrows were sisters or even cousins but half the time they do not want to be related or look symmetrical as possible on my very asymmetrical face. Any way I chanced up on this place and wow was it awesome. I do not remember who did my eyebrows but she did an incredible job - was very slow and meticulous and shaped those babies up (not to her credit the previous brow lady had built a decent eyebrow template for her to follow). Time will tell if I keep coming here but cannot be turned off by that amazing price $5 for brows. They also offer facials and scalp massages - both seemed appealing.

It is really astonishing that they've managed to keep their eyebrow-threading price at $5 after all…read morethese years amid the pandemic and inflation, while I've seen some other places raise their prices significantly (ie, $5 to $10). I've been coming here pretty consistently for the last 6 years. I initially did not like this place that much until a newer lady (never got her name, just knew by face) joined in 2018 and started doing my brows, and I was so amazed by her carefulness and gentleness that I had a hard time being sent to the other ladies working there and would even queue up for as long as 30+ min so she could thread my brows! I even had a hard time going to other threading salons because she was so good. She left a few months ago and every time that I come here now and get a different lady, I'm literally just on the edge of my seat with lots of anxiety that they don't hate me and mess up my brows because I had a strong preference for my threader. They turn out fine most of the time, but I experience redness from the pressure they put on with the thread and constantly working on the same spot. It's a hit-or-miss place and it always hit when my favorite threader worked on me but now it's literally a gamble between hit or miss when I get thrown to the first available lady. Still, can't beat the $5 price for decent threading and they probably don't have any competition for that price point.

I'm writing this review because I moved to PA and I miss my favorite eyebrow aunty!…read more Let's get one thing straight - she's the best eyebrow threader (that is best suitable for ME and a lot of my friends) in the Elmhurst/forest hills area. She knows what she is doing, however, she doesn't have enough space in her shop to do it comfortably. It would be cool if all the local regulars could help her start raising some money so she can provide a bit more, but in a perfect world. Anyways, I have tried at least FIVE different threading salons near my new apt and all of them SUCK. They're all desi (south Asian peeps) and they have the worst threading techniques. Not to mention they finish my service in less than 5 mins.... and charge me $10+... for eyebrows..... like you're not in Manhattan so bring your prices down. Sushila takes her time on me. She not only threads but tweezes my shiz to perfection. She has a steady hand, uses quality thread (from India) and will fix it if you don't like it. The people who gave bad reviews, there may be a language barrier or misunderstanding because she's great at what she does. I've gone to her for waxing and eyebrows - never had an issue. Also - nobody's paying me for this review nor do I know if she'll see this herself lol just really miss sushila because quarantine is killing a sis.

I came here on a whim as I walked past but soo much regret. Originally wanted to get my eyebrow threaded but forgot I already prepaid for an eyebrow threading card elsewhere so I switched to a manicure because I hate doing my own nails. Chose my colour and sat down.. the lady who did my nails did not want to do nails and you could tell. Whenever I walk into a nail salon, the host is very friendly, engages with you and talks to you about your day. Nope... not a single word out of this lady. She was a bit aggressive when she was filing my nails.. kinda pulled my hand like a mom pulling her kid to come this way. Like... you're in the service industry, what... Filing was not straight.. you can see that from my picture. I asked her to fix it because I could've done it myself if I wanted something so imperfect but I think she was annoyed.. she did cut my nails, filed, buffed, apply cuticle oil, cut my cuticle and gave me a small hand massage. Colour.. yikes.. the colour was sheer to the point where it doesn't look like I have anything on. I think she should've done at least 3-4 coats but only did two.. colours are suppose to be opaque but no.. I came home and luckily had a colour that was similar enough to paint on top. Overall, not returning for nails. Probably wouldn't even return for brows.. the place is tiny.. uncomfortably small but if you're really on a whim, give their threading a try as I do see a lot of people come in for that. Not recommended for nails.
