Really nice Indian food. I've been here twice now and got chicken pakora, tawa tikki, malai kefta,…read moreHaryali Kashmiri Kofta, onion bhagia, garlic naan and onion kulcha. Everything has been great, no exceptions. My SO has been really happy with his entrees too and is looking forward to coming back to see if the vindaloo can make him cry. The flavor profile is great, the portions are massive. I usually default to lamb rogan Josh when I try a new place but have been hitting vegetarian entries since they can be amazing at Indian places and they absolutely are. The price point is decent, very similar to other Indian restaurants of this tier in Jersey. I'm glad they include the rice with the curry which helps the price. They serve papadams with onion, tamarind, and mint chutney to start. Again, I've seen more Indian places omit this or charge for it. Very close to my SOs place, so this will start becoming a regular spot.

Got takeout from there with mostly good results, and a miss. First off, the Veg Samosa was awesome!…read moreYou get 2 very good sized ones, that were very flaky and crunchy with flavorful potato and pea filling. Excellent. But the vegetable Assorted Pakora ( battered and fried veggies) was not good at all. It was doughy and soft, not crispy at all and bland tasting. A total loss. Then the Spring Rolls were a pleasant recovery from that, nice sized, several with the order, and tasted good. The Chicken Pakora (battered fried chicken nuggets) was middle of the road, not too crispy, but the chicken was tender and enjoyable with the spicy dipping sauce. The Onion Kulcha (soft flatbread with onions, herbs and spices in it) was not bad, and went well with the main dish, which was Chicken Nargisi. This is chicken chunks in a spicy coconut milk sauce which was very good. This came with a very generous portion of basmati rice (huge portion, enough for 3-4 people as a side). The rice was aromatic, cooked correctly, not gummy at all. The coconut chicken was seasoned well, the chicken was tender with plenty of sauce. Also a large enough portion to make 2 meals out of it. The Samosas were the standout of the meal, highly recommended.

A little shop in Summit serving up delicious Indian fusion…read more Apps: The cauliflower koliwada was ok, a spicy carrot mash with peanut and chili crumble; it cooled too quickly, I think and that made it soggy instead of crunchy. Flavor bomb burrata was amazing - on top of a naan, tomatoes and green garlic chimichurri with a fresh burrata and what was like a very sweet spicy honey on top - delicious. Sadly they were out of the truffle chicken masala. We opted for the butter chicken - also delicious and rich. Palak paneer - always nice to see the spinach version. Very good. Both were great with the garlic and butter naans... sopped up with the naan or rice, delicious. The 'Rarha' Lamb Chops were ok, overcooked until the bone crumbled so a bit hard to pick up, cutting it was a bit tough, and the mustard-tumeric potatoes were very good but heavy. BYOB. Menu completely online and somewhat hard to see -- bring a big phone. Street or muni lot parking. Servers were pleasant but often busy cleaning up - a bit of dropping things all night - customers knocked over their lights, dishes fell, glasses broke - I felt like it was a Jewish wedding with all the wares falling on the floor mid-way through dinner. Portions are solid and they also gave to-go bags for the leftover naan and boxes for the leftover dishes.

TLDR: Great ambiance and service, decent food but with milder flavors, worth a visit, but not my…read moretop Indian go-to. We stopped by Four Monkeys on a busy Friday night, and the place was packed, always a promising sign. Even with the crowd, parking wasn't an issue at all; Lot 3 is right nearby and there's plenty of street parking, which made getting in and out painless. Inside, the restaurant is on the smaller side, but they've managed to fit in a surprising number of tables without making it feel cramped. The lighting is dim and moody in a way that works well for the space, and the subtle monkey-themed decor is genuinely charming- playful but tasteful. Menus are all via QR code, and even the cutlery feels upgraded and fancy, adding a nice touch. Service was a highlight. The staff is friendly, helpful, and refreshingly honest as they guided us through the menu, prevented us from over-ordering, and offered thoughtful recommendations. For water, they give you options: tap, sparkling, or still. What we ordered: * Pili Mirch Paneer Tikka (appetizer) * Bandar Butter Chicken * Homestyle Bhuna Chicken * Garlic Naan (pro tip: the naans are huge, one is easily enough for two people) The paneer app was really solid, think paneer tikka with a definite kick, paired with some tasty dipping sauce, chutney, and even grilled pineapple. A fun combo and definitely one of the stronger dishes. The mains, though, both the butter chicken and homestyle bhuna chicken, leaned very much on the milder side. The sauces were more liquidy than expected, and they felt geared toward diners who prefer Indian food without the heat. With slightly less gravy and a bit more spice, both dishes could've been standouts. The garlic naan was fine, though more firm than the soft, melt-in-your-mouth style I usually prefer. Overall, I'd say Four Monkeys is a good try and a nice addition to Summit, but probably not my go-to Indian spot for the food alone. That said, the ambiance is great, the staff is wonderful, and it's worth a visit, especially if you're into milder Indian flavors or want a cozy, lively night out.

Also, this place has a real issue with time: The one occasion we dined there we sat at the table for over an hour after ordering, waiting. All the while Uber eats etc drivers were gathering and standing, hovering in the dining area waiting too with some were getting downright uncouth. Not a pleasant experience. I can understand why some restaurants won't deal with these drivers at all. At least the employees maintained decorum. My tip: order and pickup but wait a half hour longer than they tell you. Sticky floors and a noticeable odor hit you at the entrance. Hopefully, they'll clean it instead of just hiding it under a rug

The door in the back is just a solid white door with no glass or any way to see in but trust me it takes you into the restaurant For apps we had the pakora basket. It came with a samosa and beetroot tikki as well. The samosa was great and the beetroot tikki had promise but was a little free with the fennel seeds. The spinach pakora - please just offer me this by the basketful! The rest of the pakora (caulflower, onion and potato) were good but after a few we had our share of besan. Also to start was the lasooni gobhi 65. Our son is selectively spice-averse so we asked for the sauce on the side. The cauliflower was fried in what seemed like a thinner besan (chickpea) batter and was red. While it was piping hot, I did not find it too crispy and the sauce in the bowl on the side lacked that garlic oomph. No worries at least the kid loved it. The Paneer Tikka was next. This is where the flavor resides! One of the best paneer tikkas we have had. Edges slightly crisp and flavor still intact with a soft paneer. No cheating with the torch like some restaurants do. Star of the night. Vegetable Jalfrezi - Packed with fresh veggies, savory flavor and not cut with potatoes. This is was blanketed with the tandoori roti we ordered. We will be back, and next time I am heading straight to the same mains we ordered. The food comes out hot and fast, so be ready!
