The garlic parmesan, however, was a bit underwhelming--I was hoping for a stronger garlic flavor. The calamari was very good, and the eggplant fries were a standout--absolutely loved them! The fried mozzarella looked incredible (honestly the reason we chose this spot for lunch), but unfortunately they seemed overcooked and had an oily taste. I'd still be willing to give them another try. The margherita pizza was a pass for me. The crust had a nice crunch, but overall it lacked flavor. This place only continues to thrive because of their prime location. They have the worst turnovers for employees I've ever seen. I used to be a regular (at least once a week) as i live in walking distance. Now will maybe go once every 6 months and it's when I'm talked into it by my family. Myself and a group of friend's vsited Afton Pub & Pizza for lunch and we ordered a village calzone which was amazing! It came out of the kitchen piping hot oozing with cheese accompanied by a marinara, dipping sauce. Our waiter was very attentive as he refreshed our beverages, checked to see if we needed anything and cleared our empty plates. Oh yes, the restaurant was very clean and well maintained. The fried mozzarella and signature red sauce were the perfect app. (Pro tip: add some garlic salt to the sauce) House Italian and Caesar salads were on point. Go for the extra dressing - so good. The meatball trio was amazing and loaded with melted cheese. BBQ pizza was good but their crust is so good that I would get a more Italian style pizza next time. Chicken was just okay to us. Little details matter...the tea was excellent. Not watered down like some places. This is also the second time that our server has been exceptional. She was personable, helpful and so quick! We have eaten from Afton P&P for over a decade. I can say we have never had a bad experience. Today I ordered a 10' inch pizza and the crust was horrible. Felt as if I was eating pizza made from saltine crackers. When I called to ask if the recipe changed I was told it had not but the kitchen staff could make a difference. We have been going to Afton for years, and we always enjoy our meals. This past Tuesday we decided to go for kids eat free. Apart from kids eat free they also have other specials like $4 drafts and $4 bombs. Any of the entrees come with a soup/salad and is good bang for your buck. We tried the pepper frites and even the kids loved them! My pizza was supposed to be gluten free crust but there was a mix-up and I got the regular... and I did not regret it. It was delicious! My husband enjoyed his calzone and the kids meals were yummy too. They also have a pizza cookie which is basically a cookie sundae. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We love sitting on the patio. Highlights: highly recommend the pizzas, good for small groups, good parking, friendly and quick service. Overall, I've had good experiences here. My first visit was during lunch. It was not too busy and we were able to park on the street right in front of the restaurant. Our waitress was friendly and gave a couple good recommendations. I had the BBQ pizza. It came out pretty quickly, was the perfect temperature and tasted great. Large Drink menu which played on one of the tv screens. They offer a mix of booths and tables. My second visit was at dinner time on a Friday night. The area is very busy and parking was little trickier. However, we found a spot still pretty close. I went with a group of 6 this time and we were still seated fairly quickly. This time I had the Chicken Alfredo pasta. It was fine but not amazing. Service was still very good and everyone's meal came out quickly. My mom had a specialty pizza and it was great (I was pretty jealous). First I want to say the service was great but the food was terrible. We went for lunch and ordered the chicken marsala for I think 16-17 dollars. The marsala sauce was kind of coagulated and was mostly onions with a few mushrooms. You could pick a side so I got the fettuccini Alfredo since the entree didnt come with pasta. The side was dried out and didnt have hardly any sauce. This is a second chance visit to this restaurant and I am disappointed to say it will be my last. Last night was 1/2 price lage pizza night, supposedly with no restrictions. Tried to order on their website, but the site is obviously a door dash site. Could not get it to apply the 1/2 price discount. Tried repeatedly to call for thirty minutes to place the order, but always busy (or maybe off the hook??). I went ahead and paid the full price through their website, as I had promised to bring pizza for dinner with friends. I thought maybe I'd get a refund or credit when I got there. I have been a pretty loyal customer at AP&P for almost 2 years now since I moved to Concord. But, tonight, the night before school starts, I had to wait more than 70 minutes for a Pizza I called in and I kept hearing nothing but excuses. I was told 25-30 minutes when I called in at 6:15pm. And after sitting for over 45 minutes, once I got there, and while watching everyone else eat, and simply waiting for 1 pizza, I was offered garlic knots for my trouble. That's it. Garlic Knots. The manager acted like there's nothing she could do and, when I pointed out how long it took from the minute I called until I actually walked out. She said "I'm sorry that everybody in Concord wanted Half price Pizza tonight". I was constantly told that the girl who took my phone order should not have said 25-30 minutes. How is this my fault/problem? If I had known I would not have waited that long, I would not have ordered a Pizza and made other dinner arrangements. Also half the staff seemed more concerned about someone's birthday that I believe works on the staff there than taking care of the issues that were occurring. And then, after that, I got home and the pizza was very undercooked. We will never patronize you all again. I'm not one typically looking for concessions or complaining. My only advice to the bar is that it should be a standard rule that significant others shouldn't sit at the bar and become intoxicated. We ordered garlic knots that were so hard the knife couldn't go into them. Our waitress said, "Sorry this batch is hard," and returned to the kitchen. Around the time I asked for our drinks I asked for napkins for our table and I had to ask twice and didn't receive them until we were almost finished with our food. I have stared ordering take out from this place from how back the service is. DO NOT EAT HERE if you don't have an hour and a half to kill. The service is great up until you want your check!
