ferni (those are demitasse spoons to give an idea of size)

Located in a strip mall with parking. The interior was surprisingly tastefully decorated. The food was fantastic! We had a lamb shank that was very tender. It was served with delicious rice with carrots and raisins and also a small portion of bean soup and salad. We might just order the rice next time since we prefer a more vegetable heavy meal. The meat dumplings were delicious. We had 2 boranis also--an eggplant dip sort of like baba and a pumpkin dip. Both were served with a large piece of fresh naan bread. We finished with "dessert". When we asked what it was the server said "milk, sugar and other stuff". It was sort of like a cross between kheer and panna cotta. FYI the water is plastic water bottles on the table at room temperature. We chose to use our own ice water in our stainless steel bottle. Our chai came toward the end of the meal. The only weakness was the service. The server was nice but inattentive. There was a language barrier and he was also helping in the kitchen. He did provide anything we asked for on request. But I don't know what the experience would have been if we were not the only people in the restaurant at the time. There was one other party that came in when we were almost done and there was take out business going on but I suspect the wait for anything would have been very long.

I got the chicken Shami kabob and it was tasty but a little on the dry side. The rice was tasty and the side sauce helped and I got the extra white sauce so it all made it better.

Bolani and borani (eggplant, pumpkin, potatoes)! Get all these dishes! Afghan food is one of my favorites and I love the vegetarian options here. I did try the beef kabob, but preferred the vegetarian dishes given the amount and how good it is. The length of time you wait for your food varies, so bring a friend to chit chat with just in case! Bolani: awesome amount of food and I like to dip in a mixture of the sauces that they provide (I think the green one with the yogurt sauce is my favorite combo) Borani ___: all are good! I recommend you try them all to see which is your favorite

Pakaura's was perfect and yummy with a garlic chutney and also tried the cilantro chutney.

First time trying Afghan food. And it was delicious! We tried the Pakaura which was fried to perfection. And served with cilantro chutney. Not spicy. I had the chicken kabob and my friend had the lamb kabob. Restaurant was clean and service was great. Clean restroom!

Definitely do not recommend! I came here with two kids and spouse and the food took forever. It made me feel a type of way because when people who came in after us ordered their food came out fast. My son wasn't even offered any water. I will say my families food took about 45-50 minutes for two dishes and the other tables ordered and got their food within 10 minutes. My beef was super chewy and I felt like my teeth was going to fall off from attempting to bite it. I can probably bounce it off the walls. The rice was good no complaints there. So disappointing the lamb looked so good in everyone else's photo but when my husband got his it was like 3 pieces with no meat on it. I'm not sure if they are racist or something but I won't be coming here again.

This has been one of the best hidden spots I have ever eaten at, I have had some Afghani food in the past but nothing like this. I never liked eggplant but having it here changed my mind. Not one dish was bad. They brought out the food fast. I went with some colleague's from work and we asked if they did catering so we can get it at work.

The restaurant is comfortable (but if you are to go before they close, get there early because lines are long). Service was friendly and great. For appetizers, we had Bolani (potato turnovers) and Burta (eggplant and garlic). Both were unique dishes are really delicious, everyone in our party loved them and they were gone quickly. However what I love and will miss so much are the kabobs. I leaned to the lamb, but often got the steak. They were always cooked perfectly with just the ideal combination of spices. Really delicious. They will be missed.

We shared a bunch of appetizers: bolani, burta, and the mushroom qorma. Burta was my fav but every single dish was so flavorful. For my mains, I got the murgh kebab.. the chicken was so tender and well-marinated but the flavored rice stole the show for me. Also the place feels super authentic, cozy, warm, not trying too hard, just real. And the owner was hilarious, so witty, and made the whole experience feel extra special. You can tell he cares and it shows. Now the saddest part: I just found out this restaurant has been around for decades and is closing forever soon. Truly heartbreaking! I really wish I'd discovered it sooner. If you've been meaning to go, don't wait. This spot is a gem and def deserves a visit before it's gone. FYI, it closes on Jan 3rd 2026!

The restaurant itself is pretty large too, with 3 different seating areas. When we arrived, there were a few parties already there in the middle and left sections. We did get service, but it was extremely minimal. They didnt check on us at all, and we sat around for quite awhile waiting for someone to come by to get us our bill/clear the table. It definitely felt like we were being segregated against, as we were the only East Asian party there. :c We did really enjoy the food. Flavors were on point. However, during our most recent visit this past Sunday, we bought a large quantity of Sangak without inspecting it beforehand -- and unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. The bread was poorly made, and completely lacking the quality and texture we had come to expect. It was clear that something had changed -- either in the baking process, the ingredients, or most likely, in the oversight of the baking staff. This review is a call to the owners: please take immediate steps to supervise your baking team more closely. Whoever is currently responsible for production is not maintaining the standards that built your reputation. Failing to act will only drive loyal customers away and damage your business long-term. Sadly, after this experience, I will not be returning. I'm not willing to waste my time and money again on what used to be a dependable source of quality bread.
