Called the day of, about 2 hours before he told me he would arrive and told me he could not make it because the job the previous day took longer than expected. Understandable. Told me he would be there the following day. Never showed up, and never called. Called him and left a voicemail. No response. Called again a few hours later and still no response. I was happy to again hire Affordable Tree Company to cut back 5 of my trees. We scheduled a time for a Saturday morning even though I had other plans which I told him I would break. On the day of the appointment I texted first thing in the morning at around 7:00 a.m. to confirm the time. I did not hear from them until 10:00 a.m. to let me know they were not going to be here on Saturday because of high winds which caused them to be detained at another location miles away from me. They were trimming our neighbors' trees so thought we would hire them to trim our pine trees, discussed the job and Victor who assured my husband they would be very careful and would clean up all the limbs and branches. Came home to all the trees trimmed and noticed that the white wood fence we just installed was damaged. Appears they tried to hide it by going through our scrap pile and sawing a piece of the wood out and sticking in another in hopes that we wouldn't notice, I guess. Hard to not notice that your new fence was damaged when the boards are cracked and sawed off. Called Victor who said he would come to look at the fence and he never showed, spoke to him several times and he said they would replace the three damaged fence boards and install them and provided him with the information to order the fence boards and still no word from Victor (the boards had to be ordered from a lumber yard because of the size). Called the lumber company to see if in fact Victor called them to place an order and he had no order placed. Called Victor again and he blamed the lumber company for ordering the wrong boards, then he agreed to pay us $150 for the damaged wood and paint and cost to go pick up the lumber (if you have purchased lumber recently you know how expensive it is), said he was sending a check and we texted him our address and two weeks later still no fence boards or check (going on almost two months now). Called Victor again and he said this week he mailed the check but could Zell us the payment, so we sent him a Zell request and are still waiting for payment. I understand accidents happen and if they had informed us of the damage they caused and were actually taking steps to replace the fence boards, I wouldn't be posting this review on Yelp, I call that a shady business. Was going to hire them to trim the remainder of the trees on our property but will never allow them on our property again. BTW, we paid them $1500 and we still had to take a load of limbs and branches to the dumps that they left behind. And...still waiting for the payment. read more

Affordable Tree Company came to clean up a huge pine tree we have in our parking lot. The tree had a lot of low and sharp branches hanging, plus a lot of dead branches that posed a danger to our employees' and their vehicles. ATC was very quick to respond and they were able to accommodate my need for urgent weekend service. Their pricing was also very reasonable. They did a great job and the tree is now safe to park under. They arrived on time and executed the work quickly. I would have given them 5 stars but there was one issue I had. When they had completed the job, the crew took it upon themselves to begin cleaning up the pine needles that had been accumulating in our parking lot. I was so appreciative and was really impressed that they went above and beyond, that was until they got their payment. After I handed the owner his payment, he went outside and saw his crew picking up the needles. Instead of letting them finish, he yelled for them to just stop and leave everything there. His crew even insisted in letting them finish picking up the pine needles but he yelled angrily with swearing to just leave it and go. This was all yelled in Spanish. I don't think that he knew that 1. I was standing close enough to hear and 2. that I spoke Spanish so I understood what was being said. The fact that his crew wanted to go above and beyond shows that they are really trying to leave a good impression on their clients, sadly the owner and foreman didn't feel this way. This painted him in a disappointing light. I would still recommend ATC because they really did a great job on our tree. I just wished that incident hadn't left a bad impression. read more

So, spur of the moment yesterday, we decided to have a medium sized tree removed from our front yard. I reached out via Yelp with the job specs and within minutes was contacted by several companies. I made estimate appointments for the following day (today). First company showed up 20 minutes late and gave me a price of $500. When we said, thank you but no, they dropped it to $400 and said they could do it later that day. We agreed. In the meantime, I had been communicating with Debbie at Affordable Tree. I sent pictures as she requested and she gave me a price of $250.00, which included stump removal and clean up. While I was communicating with Debbie I received another price of $600 and another for $350. I liked Debbie and we scheduled the crew to come out between 12-1 today. They arrived a little after 12:30, did a great job and were gone 35 minutes later. As an aside, I immediately canceled the rest of the estimates for today and let the crew I scheduled for removal know we had decided on another company but that I appreciated their time.
