Affordable guys are- as their name indicates- affordable and awesome!! I have used them twice: the first time moving from Center City in Philadelphia to a storage unit in Bethlehem, and the second time from my storage unit to a 3rd floor apartment. Both times they have been Wonderful! They drive in on a Friday afternoon to Philly and moved everything in about 1/2 of an hour. When they reached my storage unit (after driving in rush hour traffic!), they had trouble finding the unit so they stayed late until there owner came to make sure everything was set. And this was on a HOT Friday night!!! When they moved my stuff again to an apartment, they actually called to see if i wouldn't mind if they came early! I was thrilled with that of course! They moved everything without leaving a scratch (which says something since I have kinda cheap furniture). And were extremely polite. I had a long distance move from Philadelphia to Atlanta, with a 2 week storage period needed for the move, and they were very accommodating. This company is amazing! We moved to Bethlehem from Atlanta a few weeks ago and Affordable Guys handled our move in. They moved all of our stuff (three bedroom house) into our house in less than two hours. They were very careful, courteous, and efficient. They even moved a big chair into our basement (which we thought was impossible because of the size of the doorway) with no problem. One of the best moving experiences I've ever had. The guys that came to move us to Philly were courteous, very careful with the furniture and did everything in less than 3 hours for a move one hour away. We got a call the morning of move advising us of the time of arrival and all went smoothly. The only thing I would change is how I arranged the move. If I did it over again, I would enter all the details in an e mail or make an appointment online versus on the phone. read more

To give you a punchline, Affordable Guys are amazing, nice, and most importantly, very professional. I moved from NYC to Austin, Texas. Even with a short notice (Iike 2 days window), they could fit the schedule and still provided the most reasonable price. I have dealt with some very rude third-party brokers for moving company, and Affordable Guys were very friendly from the beginning, when we talked about my moving situation on the phone. I highly recommend booking straight via phone or email. Affordable Guys were very good at responding my emails, which I prefer as I am not always on the phone. I'm very pleased with my experience with Affordable Guys Moving. I purchased a treadmill that would need to go in my basement but I was unable to move something that large/heavy myself so I called to see if they could help and they did! I called on a Monday and was offered service on the very next day or the following day. Not only were they very nice but the price was perfect and I was very happy that they could help me so fast. We got a decent amount of snow the day they were scheduled to come and they didn't even cancel on me, they just came a little later. Not happy at all. I called and spoke to a rep on Thursday, March 29, 2018 and the rep stated he was busy with a move and would I e-mail the specifics and I said I would. I then e-mailed the company giving the specifics as requested and waited. I heard nothing back by April 2. (I asked in my e-mail if someone could meet with me on April 3 to give me a price for moving items at an Easton, PA. address) so I called on April 2 and left a message, and here it is 4:30 PM on Tuesday, April 3 and still no call back. This company lost big time because as a property management company we have many clients that we could have recommended and that will NOT be the case now. A friend recommended these guys and I'm very pleased with their services. We were moving from Brooklyn and just needed muscle to unload the van (and get some additional furniture across town). Due to a hellish morning in Brooklyn, I had to move our start time. Jerel (who seems to be the guy in charge) was super flexible and understanding. Then we hit tons of traffic because NYC... and I told him we were going to be late. He was understanding but explained our clock time (4 hours for $250...which is incredible pricing) would start at 4 because he already adjusted it for us. I totally understood. We ended up getting in at 6 30 (!). The movers, John and John Jr (father-son team) were amazing. We were in touch with them to let them know we were late and to just enjoy some down time. My husband worked alongside them to make the most of our 4 hours (which was actually just 2.5 due to our tardiness). They got everything moved in in under and hour, and then went across town with my husband to get furniture and moved that in. We finished just over an hour "late." Incredible. The guys were so friendly and understanding. And efficient. The downside to Affordable Guys is it's very hard to get in touch with Jerel. He's often on the road so you're left leaving voicemails (and then the voicemail is full) and he's not amazing at responding to emails. I kept thinking the appointment would fall apart but it didn't. (We ended up being the problem!). I also had to ask a few times to get my receipt. But overall, I'd highly recommended these guys and would use them again. read more

Affordable Guys moved one very large armoire from a friend's garage to my home, about ten miles. The office was efficient, scheduled it immediately, and send my confirmation within minutes. I'm sorry I booked this company on a recommendation from a friend. They called the day before to say they had mis-scheduled my arrival time from 10-11. Instead they wanted to show up between 12 & 1. Though it was inconvenient I accommodated. They didn't show up until 3. The previous job ran late and included a lot of stairs, apparently. That meant that I got tired workers. Then they spent three and a half hours loading my one bedroom apartment. By the time we were done they were carrying one kitchen chair or one table leaf at a time. Not the speedy professional job I booked. It took fully 8 hours at that rate. When the owner called me the next day to "settle up" I told him my concerns. He then contacted his guys to see what happened. At that point the owner began yelling at me, repeatedly shouting "listen, listen!" as if I were a subordinate. In reality, I am a woman and this man told me that I was a liar and a cheat telling him about my experience. Then he hung up on me before overcharging me for the "service." My advice is not to book this company. Especially if you are a single woman. The masculinity is toxic. read more

I used Affordable Guys Moving to move a 3BR 1,800 sq ft home from Nazareth to Saylorsburg. Jarel and his crew were simply great. Extremely efficient, on time, and completed the move in eight hours. This amazed me as I also had them pack. Jarel showed up with five other guys at 10am, packed the entire contents of the home, loaded it onto two trucks, and had it unloaded into the new home 20 miles away by 6pm. This also includes setting up a huge master bedroom suite. Virtually non-existent damage to anything. Two extremely small scratches on one item, that's all! I would have done much worse doing it myself. As for the fees, lets just say they were HALF of what the big guys wanted and took half the time (United, Mayflower, etc.). Would not hesitate to call Jarel the next time I have any sort of moving to do. read more
