I was charged $450 to install a new downspout from a first floor gutter (15 minutes) and 5 minutes of caulking to seal a roof corner flashing issue. After royally screwing up the estimate, only finding their mistake AFTER making $580 worth of gutter that they insisted I "signed for", under false pretences, I told them I do not want any more of their services, i rather hang the gutters myself than work with them further. My metal gutters were perforated by wear and weather. I requested Affordable Gutters to inspect and compose a bid for replacement. I accepted the bid, they installed the gutters, but they did not install them flush to the fascia board--rendering the gutters useless as the water ran off between gutter and board. In addition, no flashing were installed! Affordable Gutters also damaged many of the shingles along the gutter line. When I called the company to ask what was the deal, Ed said "Hey, lady, you did not ask for flashing!". In my opinion, it is up to the contractor to tell me what I need. I would have gladly have paid for flashing if I had been told I needed them. Flashing/no flashing the gutters were installed improperly. I met Ed at my house to review the situation. When I pointed out all the things that were wrong, Ed became combative and began pushing his chest into mine and sticking his finger in my face! ALL I CAN SAY IS: This is the worst job EVER!!!! Never again! The equipment did not work when they arrived requiring them to leave and comeback. The installation was subpar splitting many rafter joists with rafter spikes installed off center. The corners are not seamless as identified on the website. Additionally my prior gutters where a different size than what was installed leaving a gap of exposure to my attic, requiring a siding company to come out and correct the error. It cost me an additional $150 to correct for the error that should have been addressed with me prior to installation not after the fact with the installer saying "that's what you asked for". After I met with and had a discussion with the owner he identified that he could not compensate me for the $150 repair because he already does not make any money in gutters installation. Lastly, after all this I received a notice of collection via "Certified" letter for the cost of the installation. The interesting thing was I received the collection letter 2 days after the company cashed my check. The owner explained that they send these to every customer to ensure that he has legal authority to seek reimbursement through a house lien if it is not paid in full. Ultimately, this was a disappointing expirience and the service to rectify it seemed to be inconvenient at best. They seems to have a good office staff but that's about it. Well, with all the bad reviews about this company I get to write a positive one. I called for an estimate and they showed up at given time. I told them about all the bad reviews, that I was a bit concerned, he said he had a bad crew and had to hire new people. I was told this current crew was really good and boy was he right. The crew was punctual and professional. I watched the tear down and installation and have no complaints. They even noticed area with the beginning of wood rot that didn't have flashing. They took care of it. Corner seams are fine-no leaks. The downspouts were installed better than before. They suggested a different routing and it made more sense. My only problem was me. I forgot to mention color match. But my house is light colored so the white gutters look fine. In fact, I think they look better. We're very happy with service and end results. Give these guys a try I highly recommend them. read more

Wow!!! Our experience could not have been worse. 1 lone workman removed the gutters and in the process got wet gutter gunk all over outdoor living space, including toddler toys, and furniture. The gutters were installed crooked, there was a leak they sprayed flex seal on, during the first heavy rain the front gutters poured water over the top, and the 3" drain holes we ordered were not installed just 2" drains. We tried to be good customers and called the owner. We must have called 15-20 times. (This is not an exaggeration, the receptionist would know us by the caller ID we called so much. The plus side in all this is the receptionist is really nice.) We finally gave up calling because we got no response from the owner except to make excuses. read more

The workers were courteous and did a great job. The people in the sales office were nice and and had more of our roof pressure washed than what we originally had them bid on. They came back the next day and finished the job. I have used other pressure washing companies over the years and Affordable Gutter Service is absolutely the best we have ever used. Called and made an appointment for an estimate. The man who gave the estimate did a great job. Having two other estimates in hand I decided to hire Affordable Gutters. We set the date and time on the spot. I took off work on the day the work was to be done. Thirty minutes after the time the work was to begin no one had arrived. I called the office and left a voice mail. Ten minutes later I received a return call. The woman from Affordable informed me that the installer was sick and that the work would have to be rescheduled. Remember that I had to call them. She said that she would call back later in the day to reschedule. No call. It is 5:00 pm the next day, Friday, still no call to reschedule. If their quality of work is anything like their customer service, run, don't walk to a different gutter service. Update: Monday, four days later still no call when at 1:15 pm the roofing crew showed up to do the the job. I had no idea they were coming. I told the guy they would not be doing the job because based of their poor customer service and lack of follow through that I have no faith in their quality of work. He explained that he was sorry.but could not work last Thursday or Friday because he had to have his dog put down and was too upset. I told him that now I've heard two stories. The scheduler told me that he had strep throat. The installer told me that the scheduler was lying. Ten minutes after he left his office called me. When I tried to explain why they would not be doing the work the man on the phone interrupted and became indignant. In my opinion another example of their lack of professionalism. The bottom line is it does not matter why they showed up four days late without a call back but that in my opinion they are unprofessional and not trustworthy. They built the new gutters and designed a better plan for routing the water in a more appealing location. The two person crew was incredibly friendly and efficient.
