During the wind storm in September 2020, our roof had several shingles blow off. We hired Buena Vista to replace the shingles and Edgar mentioned that our roof was in bad shape and really needed to be replaced. The roof was only 10 years old so we opted to just replace the missing shingles. Two months later when it started to rain, we noticed a bad roof leak in our family room. We called Buena Vista and Edgar found that our roof vents were damaged in the wind storm and were leaking. He recommended replacing the whole roof. We filed a claim with our insurance company (Travelers) and they sent out an inspector. To make a long story short, Buena Vista replaced our roof and did an awesome job and Travelers paid for part of the costs. We live the gorge and went with ridge vents and heavy duty shingles. Our neighbor who is a contractor said it was the best roof installation he had ever seen. Buena Vista is the best roofing company in Clark County for the following reasons: 1. We needed a roof replacement as our roof was 20 years old and the original roof when the house was built. I had 7 different companies scheduled to come bid. Buena Vista won our business by working with quality products (Malarkey Shingles) and being a pro installers them which lengthened the warranty, having one of the best prices, the best communication from the office staff, the best packet of information, and the best overall reviews of any company that came out. They weren't the cheapest but very competitive and seemed to be a reputable company. I only had one complaint and that was that they scuffed my new gutters with their ladders while putting on our roof. I worked with Abigail at the front office, which was fantastic by the way, and she coordinated with the crew and send the foreman out with a color matched can of touch up paint and they promptly got the small scuffs touched up and all is well. They even left the entire can of touch up paint for us to have for later. The quality of work and knowledge of the foreman and communication was great. We needed a complete re roof job and needed it done quickly as there was a leak. Buena Vista was a good price and showed up promptly. They did an excellent job on a complicated roof. We live in the mouth of the gorge so our roof takes a beating when the wind blows. They did a good solid job. Our neighbor saw them working and after talking with them hired them to do their roof too. They are really pleased as are we. Prompt solid work. A few months later we saw a mark on our ceiling we thought was a leak. Buena vista came crawled in our attic to check and found it was all clear. I contracted with Buena Vista Roofing (BVR) for a complete tear-off and re-roof of my parents house in Vancouver, WA. BVR came highly recommended by one of their neighbors, so I took his recommendation and called. From that initial phone call to the completion of the job, working with BVR was a great experience. The estimator performed a complete set of measurements and provided a quote that was fair. There was even a discount for being a senior citizen and a military veteran! The BVR crew of 3 workers showed up on time each day and went about their work. Once the old roofing was removed, the lead man could see areas where there was damaged/rotted roof decking (plywood) that needed replacement. The highly skilled crew cut out the bad sections and 'puzzled' in the new plywood pieces perfectly. BTW - the additional charge for the repairs that they made was very reasonable. After 3 1/2 days and a lot of hard work, the transformation was complete and the new roof looks fantastic. I went atop the roof with the BVR inspector, and took lots of pictures. The workmanship is absolutely top notch. If you need a new roof, BVR should be your 1st call. read more

I want to express my appreciation and thanks to Buena Vista Roofing for not only giving us a very reasonable price on a house and garage roof replacement, but they did a superbly professional job, were all very friendly, and they went above and beyond to take care of us when we were in a tough situation. Due to complications regarding medical issues with the owner of the house (my mother in-law), we had to get estimates on roofing and then get the job done all within the same week. That's really asking for the impossible, or so I thought. I explained the situation to them like I did with many other companies that could not do this, but the difference is that Buena Vista Roofing came through. Within a few days our roof was done. They rushed to get here, but they did not rush their workmanship. The work done was top notch, and they left the area looking cleaner than it was before they even got here. I know this was not their standard procedure to so quickly jump into a project and make it the highest priority like they did, but that's just my point. I contacted Buena Vista after purchasing a new home. My home inspection described the roof as near end of life and my new home insurance policy required shingle replacement before I could renew the policy for the next year. After some back and forth with Buena Vista, I opted to install an entirely new roof. I also asked them to clean the gutters and brace & sister some cracked rafters in my attic. During the inspection, they also identified the lack of flashing as a possible future problem on my detached shed. Throughout the process they were extremely patient in preparing an estimate that addressed the full scope of work I wanted completed. The price for these services was very reasonable and the overall quality of materials and workmanship seems to be of very high quality. Though I concede I am not a roofer, my brief research on the Malarkey products they use suggests they are a very reputable brand in the NW and come with a lifetime warranty instead of the usual 30 year. Their office was responsive, they started and finished the work in the exact time frame they described, and they did an excellent job of removing the debris from the old roof. This is the report I got from a home inspection company regarding my recent roof installation. FYI. * New roof was installed very poorly. The new roof has many defects in in the installation in regards to flashing, shingle installation and pipe jacks just to start. Several areas have flashing installed wrong and not to industry standards, nail penetrations and unsealed nails throughout roof. Photos attached. * Shingles overlapped in many areas. * Over driven nails * Lifting shingles * Valley shingles overlapped * Buckled shingles * Missing starter shingles Page 4 Item: 2 Flashing * Exposed T metal on gable ends * Missing T metal * Nails penetrating flashing * Kick out flashing not installed properly. * Cut Boot flashing on pipe jacks in many locations. Page 6 Item: 3 Chimney * Flashing at base of chimney appears to have been installed without cutting into chimney. Water will run directly behind flashing and leak. Some areas are caulked and this is also not standard and will leak. * No counter flashing at chimney. read more

I hired them to do my roof just over 5 years ago. They did it but it didn't look as nice as the roofs around me. Then this year, I found that one of my gutters that is very high up and usually not a maintenance issue completely failed. The folks that came to fix it said it was filled with roofing materials that had just been left in there. The warranty was only 5 years so Buena Vista said they would give me a discount on replacing that 35' section of gutter and I asked them to bid on another place that is 100' with leaf guards. I got a bid for just under $1,200. But they stopped even responding even though they knew I had to get the job done because the house was being painted. So I got another company to replace all the gutters around the entire house with leaf guards for $1,500. But bottom line - their shoddy workmanship caused the problem to begin with and their "discount" was not a discount. Don't trust these guys. I wish I'd gone with the other bidder I had on the original job who had a 10 year warranty (instead of 5 like Buena Vista) - it would have only cost me a little more on the original job but surely would have saved me a lot of headache and eventually I paid the price anyway. read more
