The technician came on-site and did a pretty good job evaluating the cause of some mold and water damage in my attic. However, they had promised to send me a bid for roof repairs, and changes to my ventilation system, but I never received anything from them even after I followed up a few times. We needed a complete roof tear off and replacement for our 26-year-old original roof.  We checked online reviews and contacted several companies that had good reviews.  One of the companies with good reviews was Pro Tech Roofing.  We decided to go with Pro Tech because of the online reviews, professionalism of the phone staff, and the presentation from Cesar Ramos, the general manager.  We also researched roofing material and determined Malarkey roofing was a quality product and even better, they were a local company located in the Pacific Northwest. The job started promptly and was completed in a few days.  It finished badly.  After the final jobsite clean up we noticed that there were hundreds of nails visible that penetrated and splintered the finished underside of the roof overhang. Like many homes built in the Pacific Northwest, the finished underside of the roof overhang is exposed.  Our original 26-year-old roof shingles were nailed with shorter nails that did not penetrate and splinter the visible underside.  These shorter nails worked just fine for 26 years.  The problem we experienced was that Pro Tech used longer nails that penetrated and splintered the wood.  IT LOOKS AWFUL! I messaged Cesar Ramos and his first reply was that Pro Tech would take care of it by sending someone to "clip" the protruding nails so that would be flush with the finished surface, and repaint the splintered wood around the nail protrusions. We were skeptical that the nails could be clipped flush and the splintering damage would be adequately repaired. All Pro Tech did was put a thin coat of paint on the protruding nails. No nail clipping or splintering repair was attempted. IT STILL LOOKS AWFUL! Cesar Ramos also told us that Malarkey "required" the use of nails this length to meet the specification to qualify for the 40 year warranty. It is really too bad that we were not informed of Malarkey's "long nail requirement" and the unsightly damage it created. We would have chosen a different shingle manufacturer, a different roofing installer, or both. Spending thousands of dollars and winding up with an unsightly mess that is difficult to eliminate is very upsetting. John Liebenthal read more

We hired ProTech Roofing to refinish and paint the cabinets we had and four pantries we had built. They came in and prepped everything and then painted. We asked for oil paint which requires a lot of prep. The team was very careful of our cherry hardwood floors. These are hard working people who want to do the best job possible. We were very impressed with their work ethic and the fact that we were told what to expect every step of the way. When we had the granite countertop installed the installers scratched up two of the cabinets. Jose and his team made it a priority to come back to repair the paint right away so we could enjoy our new kitchen. I'm so glad I found Jose during our roof emergency. Other companies were focused on just bidding a full roof replacement rather than addressing an immediate but more minor need. Others told me they would get on my roof to bid but not to do any minor fixes. Jose went above and beyond. Unlike anyone else, Jose did it both.
