Took a couple attempts to get in contact with Affordable Electronics but then the experience was excellent. Main board on 75" Sony TV died just out of warranty, part was ordered as promised and they reached out to set up a repair appointment when it arrived. Frank arrived as scheduled and was friendly, extremely conscientious and highly knowledgeable in doing the repair and taking care of the TV (as well as leaving the repair area clean). Repair wasn't cheap (driven by part cost) but they made it a painless experience and got the TV back working. read more

I don't know what was more dismaying -- having to fork over a $50 repair estimate fee plus an additional $85 service call fee (because my dead TV is too bloody heavy to move or transport unaided) for a repair diagnosis that took about two minutes; hearing that the replacement part (plus labor) would cost over $300 MORE; or having the service tech then offer to come over and do the job at a reduced price (he wouldn't specify how much) on his own time, "cash only", without the shop involved. Hey, Affordable Electronics, you should be more careful who you hire! Cause these sort of employees are potentially taking away your business. I didn't take him up on the offer, but I am still left with having paid $135 just to find out what was wrong with my set (which I can't afford to repair at that price). The bulb went out on my 6 year old Sony Grand Wega DLP television. I called a local home theater store to find one and they referred me to "Affordable" Electronics on Anderson Mill Road. I called the store with the part number and yes they carried them in stock! Yay! Then the guy on the phone told me the "affordable" price was only... $220. wtf!?! I had already poked around on the internet waiting for the store to open and found several in the $100 dollar range. After hearing "Affordable's" price, I hung up and ordered thru a reputable Amazon dealer... for only $99! It included free shipping and would take about 5 days. But it showed up in 3 days and included a postage paid return label because the bulb contains mercury and must be properly disposed. Btw, the most expensive one I found online was still only $127 including shipping. The downside is that I had to to without my TV for a few days, but that wasn't near as bad as having possibly overpaid these thugs by $120. Stay away from this place, there's nothing affordable about it. read more

I called and described my problem. They told me what part I needed to replace and that they had it in stock (for a 7 year old TV). I picked up the replacement part, installed it myself, and the TV is working like new. Their price for the part was mid range from what I found on the internet, except I got it now and didn't have to worry about damage during shipping. They were honest enough to tell me what was wrong without an expensive service call and had the replacement part in stock. My owners manual had detailed instructions on replacing this part so I was able to save the labor cost by do it myself. read more

Had a very bad experience with another Samsung-assigned repair technician (see reviews for SOS Electronics) so was wary about what to expect but Frank turned out to be true to his name. He replaced 2 boards which he hoped would fix the TV, updated the status with Samsung in a timely fashion and when that did not fix the issue, told Samsung the TV needs to be replaced. Just had my 60in Sony Repaired. Sony had a recall on my TV. The picture had a strong green tint. First, Sony recommended First Choice Business Pro. They tried to charge me for labor when Sony told me there was no charge to me. So when I called Sony back they recommended Affordable Electronics. I called Affordable Electronics and they ordered the part I needed and said it would take up to 3 days. Once they got the part they scheduled a time to come to my house and install it. They arrived when they said they would. They replaced the part on Friday and left. Within 30 min the TV acted up. The repairman came right back and determined Sony sent a defective part and ordered another one from the house. The repairman called me on Tuesday with the new part. He came over that same day replaced the defective one and now I have my TV back in proper working order. And this was all covered by Sony so I did not have to pay for anything. First Choice was going to charge me labor. Affordable Electronics was honest and told me everything was covered by Sony. I did not have to go to their shop but the person who answered the phone was friendly and the repairman who came to the house was very friendly. I would go back to them for repairs. read more

Had the projection lamp go out on my 60" Sony LCD projection TV last week. Went to the store, bought a new lamp (wow, expensive!) and the lady up front informed me that my TV was under a factory recall for the fan and lamp door cover. I scheduled an house warranty repair for one week later. The repair man came by today and installed the new door and replaced the fan in the back. Took 20 minutes. Cost me nothing. Very good service, I would recommend. read more

Purchased a lamp for my T.V. several weeks ago, and the man said if the lamp for the rear projection T.V. was'nt the problem then I could return it with a 20 % re-stocking fee. I called and they said they can't return it because it's been 23 days. Very unprofessional. Would'nt recommend doing business with them. read more

Contracted by Samsung for a known problem with my flat panel TV, they followed up immediately, showed up at the precise time they said they would, and cheerfully performed the service for no charge (the no-charge part is really thanks to Samsung but Affordable Electronics treated me as though I were paying them). A pleasant experience. read more
