We had AC check in May at that time we signed up for annual program .... was told that they would call/contact us for fall furnace check in early fall and priority scheduling we received nothing so I call in to schedule check.. The check was scheduled about 2 months out.. I am a patient man, so I let it slide.... When we bought our house it was 13 years old, and we knew that new A/C units would be required in a couple of years. Well, in 2 years one unit cratered, and the next year the other one did. We asked a neighbor for a recommendation, and AFC replaced both systems (including gas furnaces) quickly and efficiently. The workers were pleasant and honest, and explained everything to us. The price was fair and we're completely satisfied. We have nothing but praise for these folks. We threw an added curveball of a second zone in our install and have been nothing but pleased with the system for the past four years we've used it. I had asked for a bid to replace a furnace, AC unit and some duct work. Ron Kuhl came out from AFC Heating and Cooling. From the beginning Ron was fairly negative about the whole thing. Making it sound like this was some huge project and was not even sure how to go about it. This of course gave me some reservations about hiring AFC, but still I requested a bid. Two weeks passed by and no word from Ron. I called him and asked where things were at. He had to stop and think who I was and what the job was. Which tells me that he had no intention on taking on the job. Sure enough he said he would pass. I asked him why it took so long to get back to me if he didn't want to do the job to begin with. All he said was, "sorry." Ron Kuhl was very unprofessional and just a negative person to work with from the start. Woke up to a cold house and a furnace that was showing a pressure sensor error code. When the tech arrived and turned the furnace back on, it worked and did not flash the error code. He cleaned other sensors and checked all of the connections that could have caused the error code. He had an apprentice present, so he was relaying all of the readings and what they should be to the apprentice. He also answered the questions I had about some things to check if it were to happen again. Mine turned out to just be a service call, no parts were replaced. But, I am very happy with the work and will use the company again in the future if the need arises. read more

AFC has serviced our furnace and air conditioner for the past 8 years. The previous company we used tried to sell us a new furnace every time they came out for our seasonal maintenance. We never have that experience with AFC. We have needed one repair (in addition to regular seasonal maint.) in 8 years and, although not cheap--I felt the price was fair and above all, they were honest about what needed fixing and I never felt that they are upselling me. read more

Our main floor furnace went out large Sunday evening when it was only 2 degrees outside. I bought three electric heaters at WalMart to get us through the night and I set my alarm for 7:00am when AFC's website said someone would there. I called and was put on the first call of the day. Our furnace is a 25 year old Trane unit so I was expecting the worse. The repairmen were here really fast and had the furnace working in only 15 minutes. I bought a complete system two years ago for the upper floor from them and have had no issues. I have also used them several times over the last several years for service both here and at my business and always had a very fast response time for annual tune ups and a few repairs. I highly recommend them to you and will go ahead and replace this old system through them, knowing they have always been there when I needed them most! Thank you, AFC! I'm sure others have had a good experience but I didn't. Don't use this company! I had a serviceman out to look at my furnace which wasn't working. The furnace is about 3 1/2 years old. The employee came to my home and was there less than 10 minutes. Apparently a wire wasn't connected properly. As the employee was leaving he said have a good day and I asked what I owed him and he said "Don't worry about it." I asked if he was sure and he said "Yep" A week later I receive a bill for $85. I called and spoke to Phil the owner. I explained the situation and what his employee said and he responded by saying that his employee was wrong and I owed $85. I told him I didn't think that was right to charge someone when their employee said I didn't owe anything. Phil said that the employee shouldn't have said that. Long conversations short, I told Phil i was going to complain to BBB.org and Yelp, I also complained on Angieslist and Phil says he's going to send me to collections. It's not right that the company won't back what the employee is telling customers. It's no different then I go into their store and proceed to purchase an item but the employee tells me don't worry about it. Then they send me a bill later for that item. Legally there's a bit of liability there, possibly deceptive billing practices, the employee by saying "Don't worry about it" when asked what I owed, closed out the verbal contract I had with them for services. I felt Phil was rude and I'm sure he felt the same about me, but how would you feel if you were told you didn't owe anything and then received a bill? Don't use this company, you can't trust what they are telling you! read more

Needed to replace my 20 yr old AC and heater. Retired and on a limited budget all I wanted/needed was to replace my units with something I could afford...but didn't want to go with a cheap brand. My furnace (Lennex) had an AFC sticker, I thought - AFC installed this unit 20 yrs ago so I called for a quote, they were at my house in 2 hours. AFC gave me a quote on a Trane that blew me away. I called two other vendors that I've seen advertise on TV (Bob Hamilton & Anthony's) to get quotes - couldn't get some out to my home for 2 or 3 days for a quote. Both quotes were over $1000 what AFC would cost me (for the same unit). Needless to say I went with AFC. AFC did my install the next day. They took 4 hours to install and left my home and yard clean. I'm 62yrs old and I'm not one to write reviews - but this was the BEST customer service and support that I have ever received from a vendor. AFC never tried to sell me anything that I didn't need or want. They explained everything to me in a way that I understood. The folks at AFC truly care about their customers.
