If you have a flood and you need things cleaned up quickly, these guys may be the one for you. HOWEVER, I would not recommend them for any other work. I had a leak in the ceiling in the bathroom as well as the walls in my room. The work started in the middle of March and wasnt completely done till the end of May. I decided to finally write my review because after going back and forth between my insurance company and the other companies involved in this, the final payment was made by my insurance on Monday 8/3. Yes, I was down one bedroom and half a bath for two months and AFC could have cared less of course. I shouldn't have expected anything from a contracting company. Fred helped me at first and was great, helped me contact the insurance company and explain to them so they would be able to approve the claim. These guys will start working on your place before even getting any kind of approval from the insurance company. When I say they will start working on your property, I mean they start the same exact day you call them for a quote. Conveniently for the company, the supervisor is the one who speaks to the company and the people who come in to lay down paper and seal up a room says that the supervisor spoken to the insurance when they have not. This company hires MLA for looking at asbestos in your walls and will come in the same day. Then another group from the AFC comes in to tear out the wall. Then another company A&A contracting comes in to give a quote. THIS ALL HAPPENED THE FIRST DAY. My insurance was blinded by all the work done and they took advantage knowing I am a new property owner and this is my first insurance claim for my property. After this one day though my place was not worked on for another 1 month. NOTHING WAS DONE. Plumbers were called by AFC the first day and they removed my upstairs neighbor's toilet because AFC said it must be the toilet. Guess what, 1 and a half month later we got our own plumbers and it wasnt the toilet it was the pipes under their bathtub. This is a long story as you can see it lasted for months. All in all, this company doesnt care about the issue being fixed. they will wreck your walls, set up fans for 2-3 days, shrug up any costs to your insurance and leave. Sorry for the long review but this was a nightmare. I would never recommend them. Update: The owner, Cary, contacted me after writing this review and explained to me that they are taking steps to be better at communicating with customers. When bad service occurs there is not much a company can do but learn from it. By what she says it seems they are moving towards the right direction. I raised my rating by one star because the owner is moving steps to be better but it doesn't change the experience I had with the workers. If I have to give a tip to anyone, is to make sure you speak to your insurance yourself BEFORE any work is done. If another party's insurance has to be involved and you live in a condo, make sure their insurance approves the work or things get really messy. read more

The pleasant complimentary consultation we thought we were going to receive with AFC Flood and Fire devolved into an experience we want to warn potential customers about. I value companies that are honest, transparent and ethical. Once a company can demonstrate these qualities, they have my business forever. I do not feel AFC upholds these values and I cannot, in good conscience, recommend them to others. Be extremely wary of the free consultation they offer. The consultation is a tool to bait you into signing a contract to utilize their services and have your homeowner's insurance be billed. We were not given a copy of the contract to review prior to being asked to sign. Instead, we were offered a signature page on a cell phone and asked to blindly trust the company by signing. I strongly recommend asking to see the contract before providing any signatures and verifying what is stipulated within. The Federal Trade Commission dictates that there is a 'cooling-off period' which grants you a certain amount of days to decide if you want to cancel a contract. One of the signatures that this company asks you to blindly provide actually waives your right to cancel a contract within 'The Three Day-Right to Cancel' period. This is absolutely inappropriate and predatory for this to be included in a contract without prior notice. AFC will leave an air scrubber at your home after the consultation to try and bill you or your insurance company for services rendered. After speaking with Fred and explaining that we do not want the air scrubber in our home, nor do we want to continue a business relationship, I was given the reply that my homeowner's insurance would be billed for the free consultation and the air scrubber. Mind you, the air scrubber was in our home for less than 12 hours when we requested its removal and no work has been performed. My experience mirrors Yelp user Cheryl M. who wrote a review about the company on 3/11/2019. Please do your research before signing any documents with AFC Flood and Fire and protect yourself. read more

He took a bunch of pictures of the damage in our bathroom to send to the insurance people and left a dehumidifier with us. When our insurance wasn't as agreeable as they should have been, Cisco at AFC worked tirelessly to make sure to get us covered. I hope you don't need this kind of service ever. If you do, find someone else. These people are dishonest to say the least. They will try to change you a minimum charge and I quote "we charge a minimum of $1,500" and that's regardless of what they do. They will leave their fans at your property for days and you can't get a hold of them. Then they'll charge for each day, or for removing/doing things they didn't do. Our plumber suggested AFC and they were out the same day, checking moisture levels and getting everything dried out. Over the next couple of weeks they orchestrated everything with our insurance company and were on our side the entire time, advocating for us every step of the way. When he came, he was very professional, organized, and extremely detailed. His GM Jason, arrived the next day and provided details on the expected work. The communication and procrastination is horrible! They are really slow about speaking to home owners insurance about claims and take days to respond when we ask about it. We had a leak behind the washer and had to replace the plumbing. The whole process took about a month and they would work for a day and take a break for 3 days without telling us what was going on. They didn't explain the breakdown of costs very well until my husband asked to speak to the manager. Fixing the plumbing seemed fine but Hero Restoration that they referred us to in fixing the walls was the worst company to work for ever! Very unresponsive and unprofessional. They left dust everywhere and plastic wrap still all over the floor and over the doors that our tenants had to remove themselves. They did a half-done paint job and there's STILL a large hole behind the washer exposing all the plumbing. Our tenants are moving back in with a brand new baby- would YOU want to move back into a place that's not cleaned up after Hero Restoration is charging for "clean up"? read more

I would like to start by saying these guys have been very professional and also very compassionate about our situation. Our story starts A call for a plumber to unclog the sink and a toilet. This should be a routine thing nothing take really difficult. We contacted our home warranty company and they sent out a gentleman from a company called plumbers Inc. out of Riverside California. They sent this young man he was very nice he came in we had to unlock the bathroom (it was locked due to our son with autism... it is his routine to use that bathroom). He spent a few minutes up stairs in the bathroom making a lot of noise... he then comes downstairs and leaves. He comes back in with a rather large item and goes back upstairs. More noise then he comes down and ask if the water was off. I told him yes.. he then proceeded to tell me that he would come back to check his work. I was speechless. The water comes back on about 15 minutes later and 10 minutes after that we have water flowing out of a light fixture in our ceiling. Then it traveled across the ceiling to two other fixtures and started to drip. We are a military family with a son with autism and this was more than we could bear. The plumbing company didn't want to help and refused to admit to wrongdoing. We called this company and they worked with us and even came out before they knew if our insurance would cover it. The first person we would end up meeting would be Fred he would come out take the pictures show is right everything was damp and or soaking wet within our ceiling and within our second-floor bathroom and hallway. Fred also helped with the insurance he was able to contact USAA for us and help with getting the policy number and the claim started. The next group from this fine company would be coming in to mark off areas. The next thing they did was contract for us a packing company to come in and pack up our things. On our third day we would meet a large group from this company.. they came in to get demolition started and removed all the affected items out of our home and set of large fans to dry infected areas. Their boss and owner Cisco came in and talked with us I love the fact that he was very frank and honest about everything that we would have to deal with during this process. When we told him about our concerns when it came to our autistic child he was very understanding and was very accommodating with anything we needed. Once the marching orders have been given by Cisco another group of young men came in to sit to work. Jason Felipe Isaac Diego Oscar and Christian... what part of amazing team of young man who came in and quickly and efficiently set up and did demolition on the affected areas of our home doing their best to give us as much livable space as possible. During the process these gentlemen were respectful, kind and very funny. A home owner's worst nightmare!!! They are very aggressive and unprofessional. They will make your problems worse. Don't sign anything until you talk to your Ins. adjuster. Had a pinhole leak in a pipe behind the drywall in my upstairs office which soaked my downstairs area. Had a plumber come out the next day to detect and repair the leak. AFC showed up the same day and began setting up the fans and dehumidifiers. Michael and Jason arrived the following day to cover up all my furniture in plastic and put up plastic walls to contain the mess. They did a thorough job removing all affected drywall and setting up a huge amount of machines to dry everything out. Machines ran for about a week and then they returned to confirm that moisture levels were low before packing up. Michael and Jason were quick, courteous and answered all my questions.
