I recently tried a beginner aerial yoga class at Aero Joe and overall had a good experience. This was my first time trying anything like this, so I was a little nervous. The instructions said to arrive early to sign waivers and get settled, so we arrived about 25 minutes before class to change, but no one was there yet and we had to wait about 10 minutes before someone arrived. There is a parking lot on both sides of the building which made parking easy. I would also recommend wearing long sleeves so the silks don't rub under your arms, and avoiding loose fitted clothing and jewelry so nothing snags while you're in the silks. One class was $35, but they also have a deal for 3 classes for $49 which seems like a great option if you plan to go back. Once class started, I really enjoyed it. Rachel was super nice, patient, and helpful, especially for beginners. She did a great job walking us through how to use the silks and made sure everyone felt comfortable. The class was fun, different, and a great introduction to aerial yoga. I would definitely take another class again! read more

Love this studio and this community! I've been to both reformer classes and the beginner aerial yoga. Both instructors were super nice and patient. The studio is clean and welcoming, can't say enough good things about this studio. The only downside is that classes fill up super fast, so you should plan way in advance. read more

I absolutely love mat Pilates from aerojoe! Emily teaches the 6:30am Tuesday class, and it's my absolute favorite. I am able to get an amazing stretch and I have gotten substantial stronger while taking the class. It's located in pepper place and offer the first class free. The offer more then mat classes including the tower, reformer and aerial yoga. Plus they offer individual lessons, and massages! All the instructors are fantastic and truly care about each client that walks through the door. read more

An interesting spin on fitness, this relatively new gym is great for decompression and stress relief. Prices are a little high if you want to participate routinely but the classes and instructors are great! Sometimes they run deals but generally they run $20-$25/class. But think: suspended yoga! The classes are small (5ish) which is a plus so make sure you sign up online via their website. Each of the teachers are really great and I really enjoyed taking classes with each one of them. Have not taken any of the pilates classes but they look fun also. Love when they incorporate into local shows and acts and they put on a great performance if you are able to catch one. try it out. it's not as scary as it looks and makes for some great pix! read more

There are a lot of things to dig about Aero Joe (nope, it's not a coffeehouse), but one of my favorite aspects of the studio is the space itself. Located in Pepper Place, I love the old loft/industrial warehouse feel and the lights strung across the ceiling. Very awesome. Parking isn't an issue since you can find a spot either in the adjacent lot or on the street, though I haven't been to a class during the Saturday morning farmer's market. Never tried any of the aerial stuff so I can't comment on that, but the grounded Pilates classes are top notch. The equipment classes are $20, and the mat classes are $15. All the teachers know their stuff...Savannah and Sharon are especially tops! read more

I was truly nervous before taking the beginners aerial yoga class Saturday, but Anne-Marie was the perfect instructor! She really walked us all through what we were going to do, and was supportive and encouraging when we struggled. I didn't feel judged, and left feeling empowered! What a beautiful peaceful space!! You can tell that this studio is totally focused on their Pilates practice immediately from walking in. It is inviting and the staff is very well trained. I took a tower course last week and really appreciated feedback during the class on body positioning- it makes a huge difference when somebody takes the time to correct your posture and movements. I took the beginner Aerial Yoga class last night with Anne-Marie and it was great! Having never done aerial yoga before I was a little nervous but I have to say it was a great experience and I encourage everyone to try it once! Like most yoga instructors Anne-marie has a smooth calming voice, she's not afraid to have fun though which is good considering not everyone is very graceful when you're on the silks for the first time. She takes it slowly at first to let you get comfortable and then since our class was catching on pretty quickly we got to do some more advance stuff. I'll be returning to the studio to check out some more classes since my first one was such a great experience! read more

We signed up for the intro aerial class. The instructors were fun, caring, and excellent offering support and guidance. The place is spotless and in a great location near the Red Cat. I would recommend it to anyone. I look forward to trying more classes. read more
