Avoid Aero Apartments - Ongoing Harassment, Noise, and Management Negligence If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I've lived at Aero Apartments for over a year, and it's been nothing but a nightmare of harassment, retaliation, and negligence. The management team, under Equity Residential, has repeatedly failed to enforce community policies and actively disregards tenant concerns -- especially when those concerns involve harassment or discrimination. Here's what you should know before moving in: Chronic Noise Issues I've filed multiple formal complaints about my upstairs neighbor who stomps, slams, and creates constant disruptive noise -- day and night. Despite months of reporting this issue, management has done absolutely nothing. No warnings. No follow-up. No enforcement of quiet hours. My sleep and peace of mind have been destroyed -- and they simply don't care. Retaliation for Complaining After speaking up about the noise and other valid concerns, management retaliated by issuing me a baseless lease violation without evidence -- while allowing the actual violators to continue unbothered. It was clearly an intimidation tactic meant to silence me. I've since filed a formal complaint with the California Civil Rights Department due to their behavior. Privacy Violations There were multiple unauthorized entries into my unit without notice or consent. When I asked for clarification, management gaslit the situation and refused to take any accountability. They ca Lack of Accountability from Corporate I escalated the issue to Equity Residential leadership -- including the CEO -- and received nothing but a dismissive legal response denying all wrongdoing. I was even told to stop contacting them, a clear sign they have no intention of protecting their residents. Poor Communication & Unprofessionalism Trying to get a straight answer or resolution from the leasing office is nearly impossible. They rely on scripted responses and avoidance tactics. They'll claim they've "investigated," but will provide no documentation or updates. It's clear they protect certain tenants and retaliate against the ones who speak up. Harassing After-Hours Messages To make matters worse, management has sent me aggressive and retaliatory text messages after hours and on weekends -- sometimes late at night -- in response to my complaints. This is highly unprofessional and creates a hostile living environment. No tenant should be subjected to communication outside business hours about issues management is failing to address. Amenities You Pay for That Don't Work: Washer broken for the past 18 months Broken sliding door Broken fireplace BBQ grill that hasn't worked in months Front entrance doors were broken for 3 months -- residents were locked out of their own homes Stomping from upstairs neighbors without repercussion "Free" guest parking if you're friends with management -- otherwise, $200/month Bottom line: Aero Apartments is not a safe or peaceful place to live. The building may look nice on the outside, but behind closed doors it's full of discrimination, retaliation, and mismanagement. The staff gaslights and targets tenants instead of helping them. My husband and I absolutely love living at Aero. The entire staff is very professional, friendly and kind. They really have made us, along with our dog, feel very welcome. Cassandra is great, informative and she provides a lot of insight regarding the community. If we have a question that needs answering it is addressed with a prompt response and we really appreciate that. Jessina is amazing. She was the first person we met when coming to tour the community and she is full of valuable information, creates a comfortable environment and is always so professional, friendly and welcoming. Todd is absolutely stellar. We appreciate his friendliness and his ability to help with all things maintenance in the community. Whenever we see him he always says hello and is available to provide a a great chat and helping hand. If anyone is looking to live at Aero, we encourage them to do so. The apartment itself is amazing, but I'm here to give a special shoutout to our amazing maintenance gentleman, Todd. The man is nothing short of amazing and if I could give him more than 5 stars, I would. His responsiveness is topnotch and he delivers every time you put in a service request. The turn around time when putting in a request is around an hour to potentially just the next morning(depending on when you place it). Him, the whole Aero team as a whole is absolutely wonderful. I only wish housing and alameda as a whole is a little more affordable. I would probably never move out! read more

This is a beautiful new apartment community with killer views of the SF Bay and skyline in their west facing units. The rent is reasonable especially with their current incentives (I got three months free on a 16 month lease + free parking for 6 months). The buildings have a lot of common areas for pleasure and work, including at least three conference rooms and a large rooftop lounge and deck that overlooks the SF Bay and (currently) has unobstructed views of the SF skyline. With covered EV parking, a game room, gym, bike locker and dog run/dog baths, this place has really thought about the needs of its residents and delivered a high end property. The staff are quick to respond to inquiries and are very knowledgeable about the property and its varied amenities. I highly recommend Aero! read more

If you hate yourself, try Aero. I don't know anyone here that had a positive experience. The glowing reviews were from an entirely different staff or they are fake. I mean there are reviews from people saying how beautiful it is without even renting. Who stops into a business, doesn't buy anything and writes a review? The people I know gave 5 star reviews cause they want their deposit back. Anyhow... The front office is clueless, my unit had no heat or air or a working refrigerator for the first 3 weeks. I should have moved out immediately but I'll share about that later. After 12 months of lease, here are some other fun facts about Aero apartments: The Gym door was inoperable 3 x for a week at a time. The car garage door was broken as much as it was in operation. The freight elevator was broken for months. Water damage was obvious. Good luck moving in or out as the regular elevators can't hold a sofa and the stairs and hallways are the most narrow I've seen. Aero claims the buildings meet code but I came to understand why building codes were invented. Aero would rent you card board shit box if they could. So back to the no fridge, freezer. Every 2 to 10 minutes my kitchen breaker would be flipped off. They had 3 electricians who told me they need to rewire which would involve replacing the entire ceiling. I don't know who wants a huge mess in their apt so I went with option no 2, try a new refrigerator. Not sure why the place was newly built without a dedicated circuit but refer back to my corner cutting. So a third refrigerator finally worked. I still had electrical surge issues in the rest of the place, but after dealing with Aeros staff, I just put up with it. TVs and lights would just pop off. I had to show my kids how to flip the breakers. Keep in mind I am paying 6300 a month for a 2 bedroom. One would think the place would be a little better and at least they would offer concessions. Nope. More fun facts: Game room broken into and stuff was broken. Bike storage was broken into 2x. Didn't stop Aero from conducting a bike audit and they warned residents that their bikes will be confiscated if they don't pay 20 / month per bike for their storage. Getting a feel for how this place is run? Make sure you bag your trash according to their 25 non posted rules or you will be fined. Make sure your friends and family don't smoke in the open lobby cause then all the residents have to read about the fines they will impose. Make sure you take your mail from the mailroom within 3 days or delivery or you will be fined. Oh and the mail room was broken into and packages stolen as well. What else? Oh about 3 months in I was contacted about an inspection for my shower cause apparently they leak badly. I never used my second bathroom so thankfully I didn't have to worry about that. What else? Oh if you are late on rent they will run you down in the lobby and into the sidewalk to harass you. They will try to make you pay for legal fees that were not even incurred. So again, if you were abused as a child and miss that, rent Aero! --- Aero management responds that they are sad and I should I should contact the office. I have. I was asked if I have placed a claim with my rental insurance about the refrigerator. Right, so I am in the wrong for not filing a claim with my insurance for a pre existing condition for their unit on day 1? Just goes to show that Aero gives zero effs. Best part, after 12 months of rent, my work relocated me forcing me to break the 15 month lease. Aero says I owe them 38K to break lease. Why? Well they marketed the unit as "3 months free". This applied to both 12 and 15 month leases but if you break lease early, they want their money for the marketing concessions. They also demand that I pay for the difference in my rent and the next Tennant. So I was paying 6300 a month, and Aero who at the time of this writing 3 weeks later didn't even advertise the unit as available. When I asked they said, oh it's reserved. So I am once again responsible for Aero's business. Will they share with me the extra money if they rent the unit for more? Nope. So beware of Aeros predatory leasing. You are responsible for their unit and how well it operates. read more

This is a great apartment complex for single, married and family folks! They try to build a community for residents compared to other properties out there. They host live music, wine and paint, yoga nights etc for the residents to get to know their neighbors! Service is great- especially Daniel and John. The community manager - Christopher Polk and his team are super helpful and kind! The apartment is walking distance to breweries ( Almanac, Fraction and spirits alley) and close to a beautiful waterfront with breathtaking views for your evening walks or an outdoor bbq! The community spaces are great to host a fun party with your friends. Lot of WFH stations beautifully designed to be productive. I highly recommend for anyone look into rent in Alameda. We are hitting about a year here (renewing our lease for another year), and I have to say its been a really pleasant experience. From the space itself, to the amenities, to the management and maintenence teams, everything is great. The teams here are responsive and resolve issues promptly. Celina from leasing and John from maintenence have always been on top of it. The pros about the building and service are endless but there are some issues we've had around the area - primarily being sound. The apartment is located near the old base with sprawling spaces. Every weekend or nice day, you'll find endless streams of obnoxiously loud cars rolling by to do donuts or whatever the hell they do for hours. And maybe we are sensitive or something, but its extremely unsafe and incredibly loud. Thats honestly probably the only serious complaint I've had here. When the fast and furious shows aren't happening, its generally really peaceful and quiet. The area itself is quite eclectic. Newly developed parks, close to the water and ferry station, scenic trails for running, and a selection of breweries, wineries, etc located a short walk away all make nearby living convenient and fun. Overall, Aero is one of the nicest places I've lived, with an equally responsible team behind it. A glass of wine on the lovely terrace with those striking SF views certainly makes it worthwhile. My husband and I made an appointment to see the property last week. We were pleasantly surprised by the lobby and how beautiful it was, we were equally impressed by the other amenities the property had to offer including an amazing rooftop deck, a dog washing room, a beautifully thought out courtyard, lounges, workspaces, and a gym..oh and also a super fun game room! But the thing that impressed us the most was our interaction with the leasing consultant, Jessina. Working in the hospitality industry for the last 30 years and managing people has taught me so much, mostly that you cannot teach people how to be passionate, or to love what they do..this is something that has to come from the individual, Jessina is that person. From the moment we sat down with her, we talked, laughed and discussed everything but the apartment itself for a good 30 minutes and she was an absolute joy! She then took us on a guided tour of the property and on our tour, she addressed every single resident she came in contact with by first name and a smile. Jessina clearly takes great pride in this community and is proud to be there, and it shows in the details. When we got in the car after, we knew we were applying as soon as we got to our laptops, not just because this property was a stand out in the many we saw but because of people like Jessina. Aero Apartments has been terrific. I moved in about a month ago and everything seems to be exactly as advertised, no nasty surprises. The rooms are top notch, the location is right next to the ferry for a very convenient trip downtown, and the whole complex has very high-tech-but-useful gadgetry. Everything has been quiet and comfortable so far. Sunny and Celina have been especially accommodating. They've been polite, responsive and very helpful. When I wanted to change rooms before I moved in, they worked with me to get the one I wanted. And when the movers arrived when I was out of town, Sunny helped me out with making sure they had access to the room and that the payment was complete. Looking forward to getting back tonight. My experience with Aero Apartments has been great! The staff has been so helpful and the amenities are top notch. The city of Alameda is so nice and I am excited to be a future renter here! For the first three months we lived here our built in above stove microwave did not work because the GFCI circuit breaker would trip. I finally told the manager I would replace it myself and deduct it from rent and he bought us a countertop (not much counter space here) to make me stop complaining. The "concierge" trash pickup does not come at all during holidays when you need it the most, and they have physically locked the trash chute rooms. That just means that all your neighbors will leave their trash in the hallway for a couple days during Christmas because they are not hauling their trash to the first floor. The fire alarm goes off for the entire building at least once a month and you have to evacuate with your terrified pets to go stand in the cold on Christmas Eve and wonder if your possessions will burn up. In the parking garage for several months there was no fire extinguisher. When I threatened to call the fire marshal and withhold rent magically they had money to pay for it. Security should be good right? Well it used to be... The office lady's would escort potential new tenants through the building... But not the new lady, she just hands the keys to the entire place to anybody who wants to take a tour and turns her TV on. I have literally met several people in the elevator who have asked me about the place... I told them that we are definitely moving because for what you pay, they owe you better quality. For example, right this minute I am trying to run a bath... But we do not have hot water! Yay! read more

I have been so pleased with my time at Aero. Two things I value most in an apartment community are the friendliness of the leasing staff and the efficiency of the maintenance team. For these reasons alone, I would give Aero a five-star review. Their community manager, Christopher, will take good care of you. He actually cares about each individual he meets, and he takes the time to get to know his residents better. It also helps that the complex is beautiful, extremely clean, and very well-maintained. The only negative was a mix up with my room when I first signed my lease. I was sure I had reserved a water view room, and before moving in, it was mistakenly given away. This property is horrible! We have lived here almost a year and it's been very disappointing. The trash valet service is so unsanitary. Tenants have trash line up in the halls because the property won't give us access to the trash bins. The halls amell and the carpet is dirty. The staff is always changing and it's unclear how to schedule a repair in advance without someone just showing up at your door. The prices are astronomical for a glorified college dorm. We will not renew our lease here. read more

We love living here! The apartments are brand new and offer every amenity that you need. Modern kitchens and bathrooms, washer and dryers in your unit, rooftop lounge with gas barbecues, game rooms, gym, courtyard with barbecues and dining areas, bocce ball court, and ping pong table. They are pet friendly and have a dog park on site as well as a dog washing room! The views are incredible, we overlook the water as well as the city. Walking distance to the ferry that gets you to SF in 15 minutes. The staff has been wonderful and they take pride in keeping the facilities clean and in pristine condition. There is also a secure parking garage and a separate bicycle room. The community is very nice and quiet but if you want a fun night out you can walk over to the Almanac Brewing company for some dinner and beer or hop on the ferry to the city.
