It's a shame I'm not allowed to swear or give less than one star. Showed up to get a car smogged an hour before closing time. The guy that does the smogs just decided to leave for the day, apparently. The owner acted like it was no big deal to totally inconvenience the customer in a huge way. Not only will I never come here for a smog. I will never give them my business for gas or anything else. Eff this guy. read more

Should be called "Take advantage smog test" Crooks. Simple as that. I could go into a long story here but this place practices shady, borderline illegal business practices. I'm never returning and I recommend other places to do smog with more ethical standards. This guys motive is to intentionally deceive you by writing a higher price on the service ticket hoping you don't notice. Then making stupid excuses that it's your fault you didn't notice. He then said the car needs to be driven more and come back for another full price test. It's a shame that businesses think that it's ok to rip people off and then wait for the next victim. Shame on them. I left and went up the road to US smog who had a coupon for 29.95. Tested, passed and out in less than 20 mins. read more

Fast and easy on a Sunday. He honored the coupon pricing which was a bit more for my CRV. The guy is a bit rough around the edges but polite and nice enough! People have unusually high standards for this place lol read more

They don't honor coupons on the internet! Got their coupon off the internet today. Went to have it done. Told me one in front of me.. asked if I could pay while waiting.. was told to wait till after to pay. When time came I showed him their coupon for $29.95. Would not honor their coupon...told me it was expired ( no expiration date on their coupon) and was now $38.95 and pulled out a big printed coupon for $38.95 that I'm sure they use to scam more people. Sat and waited for nothing.,I'll bet a lot of people just cave and pay it since they've been waiting. It's the principle..they advertise one thing and don't live up to it after enticing people to arrive Update... immediately ran over to Auto Check Center in Irvine who honored their coupon for $29.95 and I'm done read more

They are always speedy and treat me well. They often offer coupons for their Smog Service.

The guy was nice but refused me service because a reset paperclip was in the official port to reset the tire pressure monitors (that's what the port is for). He claimed it was a modification but not even proof positive would keep me from being kicked to the curb with this gentleman. Even after I had to wait for the 2 cars in front of me to be smogged. Completely unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend him if he was the only smog station for 50 miles. read more

Tried to charge me $100 for a smog on my 2014 juke. I said no I don't want it I will go down the st where it's $50. Then he said the test already started and it would fail if he stopped but the car hadn't even been turned on yet. Then he proceeded to raise his voice telling me to get outa here and that I'm wasting his time. He pulled my car out aggressively and slammed the door closed. Never going here again and I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

The experience you get is hit or miss. The guy was rude with me so I left but he was nice to the lady right after me. I have only been here once before this and they quoted me a price higher but they did honor the coupon from Yelp after I showed them. This time same thing happened, they first quoted me higher, I show them the Yelp coupon but was told not it's more expensive now. Since I got another quote that is lower, I tried to show them but was challenged to go there. They didn't even have interest to get my business. I then checked and noticed it's closed so I went back to offer them my business but was sarcastically answered. I wasn't happy at all so I left. Never going back. Advantage Plus Smog Test - Coupon I had - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Lake Forest, California

I called to ask how long the wait was. At the time there was no one. I was 10 minutes away. He took one car while I drove but kept my place in line. I was second. All together it was about 40ish minutes total time there. Price was as stated on the website with some additional fee which is always added. Around $47 out the door. The smog tester and cashier were very friendly. There was a man there who was upset because I was taken before him though the tester tried to tell him I called prior and that's why I was before him. Good experience. I'd recommend. read more

There Was an online coupon for 34.99 when I arrived, I was told that it would be $53. An absolute joke of a place... unprofessionalism at its finest. Went in for a smog check that was due to renew my registration. Upon arrival, the man in charge asks me if my car is modified. I truthfully answer that all the modifications are purely cosmetic and nothing has been done to the engine and its components. The car was always serviced at the local Toyota dealership. He then proceed to make me pull my car into his shop, while being on the phone and did not tell me to stop in time and made me scratch my front lip... He proceeds to pop the hood and looks at it and says: "This is not a Mazda engine, I don't know this engine, I cannot do it, I am a human being I don't know everything." Irrelevant point since the car is a Scion, and I never claimed it to be a Mazda. But if you only do certain engines or car makes, maybe you should advertise that on your shop/website... But I came in for a smog check, which consists of plugging in an OBD2 sensor and have their software/system read through the ECU of the car. Everything is done by the software and not the actual individual. So I bring him this point and he says I do not know what I am talking about. Funny coming from a guy who confuses a Scion for a Mazda... It is even funnier since I have been working on cars and in the automotive industry for years, so I think I would know a thing or two about the subject. Anyways we go back and forth and then he proceeds to ask me to leave by saying "I am a human being I don't know this engine. Do you know anything about medicine? No you're a human being too you don't know everything so I don't ask you about medicine, so don't ask me about this engine." Whatever this guy was on, I will tell my future kids to never touch that. Unbelievable unprofessionalism and the worst customer service I have ever faced. read more

I choose this place because they offered a smog check for $29.95 online. When I got there I was told it cost $68. He sharply said, "show me the website". Not sure what all the fuss is about in these 1-star reviews, maybe I caught them on a good day? Cruised by today because I needed to get my truck smogged - this place was recommended by a family member, as it's one of the cheapest places in the area with the coupon. Was super skeptical after reading these 1-star reviews, but decided to print out their coupon and give them a shot. Bay was empty, owner (?) saw me arriving and had me park inside. Told him I had a coupon, showed it to him, and he told me it'd be $48 (+$10 for truck, +$8.25 for cert if vehicle passes...stated in the coupon). I said alright and let him run the smog test. He calls me over about 10-15 minutes later to tell me I passed, I head over to the gas station cashier, pay the $48, thank the dude, and go about on my way with my smog certificate. The owner was blunt but cordial, was not rude at all like everyone else was saying. I'm not here to get Chick-fil-a level service, guy was straight up and handled business. If you give this place a shot, you should probably make sure your car is in running order and not clapped out, bring a PRINTED OUT copy of the coupon, and read the fine print. read more

Read the fine print on the $29.95 coupon and make sure you show it to the person testing your vehicle and not the cashier. You know, the person that actually takes the payment. Otherwise they charge you full price of almost $70 and won't honor the coupon and play dumb. Although I should have read the coupon more clearly beforehand, I feel this is their tactic to get the full price. Hoping people assume they show the coupon to THE PERSON THEY ARE PAYING instead of the person testing the car so they can get full price. I am guessing once they enter the price into the computer at the smog check they can't change it or if they can, they won't. Never going back here. read more

I went in on a weekday at 5:30pm, half hour before they close. There was no other car there, so I was able to pull right up. I presented my printed out coupon to Mike and he gladly accepted it. He wrote up the estimate, which came out to $38.20 with the certificate, exactly as promised on the coupon. My car is a 2011 Corolla, so no extra charges for being older than 2000 or being a larger vehicle as stated on the coupon. Mike was friendly during the whole test and was done by 5:42pm. Less than 15 minutes from start to finish! The Corolla passed with no issues. Pain free and easy. I'll be back for future smog checks. read more

NO INCLUDED RETESTS WITH COUPON. Sorry to anyone who may have gone to this place to get their smog check based on my glowing review (maybe I give myself too much credit). I won't be returning to this place and to even out my now 2 reviews, they get 1 Star. The coupon does not include a retest, and the technicians do not all know that and will tell you that you get a free retest! How I found out: I used the coupon here on my visit 1.5 weeks ago. I failed the test and was told by the technician that I got 1 included retest. I got the car fixed and returned after driving the car for a few days. Although I didn't have to pay full price for the retest, just half, I was under the impression that they were going to include a retest when I failed my first test, being that was what the technician told me when it failed. Nope. The technician, a different guy, although very nice, said this second test was only half the regular cost ($20) but when I said I was told I had 1 included retest I was told, no, there was no included retest. I talked to the manager and explained, he just told me he didn't know why the previous technician had told me that and restated the amount I owed. Not sure why they don't tell you that you get 1 half-price retest when you use the coupon. That would seem fair. Shame on them, shady. Not going back here. But if anything, I am glad that I now know to ask the next place that has a coupon if they include retests - and I will probably request that in writing!! read more

Absolutely the rudest, least professional A-hole owner of the attached mobile station. If I could give zero stars that would still be far too much credit for this idiot. I am pretty easy going and understanding. I have worked in the service industry and treat people with kindness, respect, and almost never complain. So in summary, it pissed me off bad enough to leave this glowing review. The man actually doing the test was nice. The owner, as I'm waiting for my car, comes out and rudely tells me and my sons to leave the area in front of the Mobil station. I explained I was getting my car smogged and I am a paying customer. We were drinking Gatorade that my son just purchased from him. ( he also overcharged him on the drinks) We were literally within 10 ft of my car. He told us that customers "don't like us standing near the entrance and we are scaring customers away.., " wtf?!?! I was a little dumbfounded but walked 5 steps closer to my car. When I went in to pay I let the man know it is bad business and rude to ask a paying customer doing absolutely nothing wrong to leave the area. I told him I own several cars and will never return, as well as I plan on leaving a shite review on yelp. He loudly told me to "get out of here!" Whaaaaaat??? I told him I have never been treated so badly as a paying customer and he told me to leave again. I offered a well deserved F U and he told me to fck off and leave. Wow, just wow. I thanked the actual service guy who smogged the car and told him that this guy at the register is rude. He smiles and laughed and patted me on the shoulder. He obviously already knew the attitude of the guy because he found it really funny. F this place. Do not ever spend your money at this flaming pit of poop excuse for a business. I'm absolutely appalled that they are still in business. Avoid at all costs. There are far too many options out there to spend your hard earned money at a place that will treat you like crap. All the bad reviews are true. This place is blacklisted. read more
