I'm so glad that I have went with another group and can use their radiology. Not once, but three times now I have been overcharged, getting a check back from them. The one about three years ago I got was sizable. I got a check in the mail today that the service was performed 4/29/24 and I just got it in the mail today which is the 28th of May 2025. Totally unacceptable. This comes from our HSA and apparently Advanced is so money hungry that they have to have it right then! Why not reverse the amount to the member's card or put a hold on it until it's paid....no, they don't do that. My daughter in law has had the same experience as I did coming off the card and her insurance paid for it totally. She too was hacked over this. Oh well, it works just fine now because the new group actually sends a bill and I pay it as soon as I get it. As for my care, experiences have always been somewhere between great and meh....a lot more of meh though. I've had a number mammographies that I thought they were going to kill me....and just when you thought they got what they were looking for, they call you back for a rescreen. Haven't had that so far with my new place. Time will tell...I just know that they have been much more caring than the majority of techs I've had at Advanced. read more

This office was on top of my issue. I had a real problem with Blue Cross/ Shield FEP providing authorization. But this office still fit me in to their busy schedule, when we finally received it. I typically get very freaked out with these types of tests (hate IVs), but the office made me feel right at home. From the admin at the entrance to the techs who performed the procedure, they did everything right. It did not hurt as much as I feared and the procedure went well. Just waiting for the results to come in now. I recommend this office for CT scans at the very least. The care is outstanding. read more

The Runaround is alive and well at Advanced Radiology. My husband needed a chest X-ray (CXR) so I called them to find out what the cost would be and whether we needed pre-authorization. Answer was yes to pre-authorization and that without a pre-authorization the bill would be around $150 and with the pre-authorization it would be $55. He ended up paying $39. So I called our insurance company and was told we needed a pre-authorization. I spent the rest of the day making numerous phone calls trying to get the doctor to call the correct place to give pre-authorization. (but that's a whole other story.) We were told by a AR phone agent that we could just walk in no appointment needed. We drove about 25 to 30 minutes to the one that was open near us (Franklin Square) and was told by the office manager that we shouldn't believe anyone that we spoke to on the phone about walk-ins, they don't ever take walk-ins there. So we had to drive home and make the appointment online for the next morning at 9:30 AM. My husband walked in on time and was told that there was a 45 minute wait and we shouldn't trust the AR online scheduling. Husband was told that even though we scheduled an appointment online, the staff at the facility just treat everyone as a walk-in and that leads to a wait. The care by the staff at the Dundalk, Maryland (Merritt Boulevard) facility were very nice. He ended up waiting 45 minutes. We're just wondering: what happened to this company since our previous interactions in the past were much better at organized? read more

Came in for an appointment for an MRI with contrast in the evening. The MRI staff were friendly, helpful, and quick/efficient. They gave me clothes to change into and a locker to put my stuff. I was in and out in a much shorter period of time than I expected. It was quiet in the evening, although it looks like it could get quite busy during the day with all of the different types of imaging they do here. However, based on my experience here, I would definitely recommend for MRIs! read more

Getting the runaround *again*. I made an appointment for an MRI and two days before the appointment I was informed by Advanced Radiology they had yet to receive an authorization for the procedure from my insurance provider. I would need to reschedule, which I did. Three days prior to the second appointment I called Advanced Radiology to confirm everything was in order, and was told there was no pre-authorization necessary. The very next day I received a text message from them instructing me to reschedule because they had not received authorization from my insurance provider. We are now FOUR WEEKS into this process and they cannot seem to get their story straight. I called my insurance provider's authorizations department today to ask if they had received an authorization request from Advanced Radiology. The only authorization request in my file from Advanced Radiology was in April 2024--a year ago--when I had a previous MRI done. Here's the ridiculous thing: back in April 2024, Advanced Radiology canceled and rescheduled me FOUR times in a row for the exact same reason. This pushed getting the MRI out to more than a month and a half before I was able to get it done. I asked my insurance provider for the FAX number Advanced Radiology needed to send the current authorization request. I called Advanced Radiology again to make sure they were using the correct FAX number, and was told, "we do have the correct FAX number, and it looks like the request was sent about an hour ago." This statement tells me they never sent the request for the first appointment. The message I am getting from Advanced Radiology is, "we really don't need your business." Their process is broken and I cannot fix it for them. If Advanced Radiology cannot get this right by the third try this time, *they are fired* and I will go with another MRI provider. Unbelievable. In the interest of fairness, the staff at the Adv Rad Aiello Center in April 2024 were 100% professional, compassionate, and very interested in making my MRI as fast and easy as possible. The broken part of their machine is their scheduling. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

Upon the recommendation of one of the Advanced Radiology employees, Julio, in the scheduling department, I am writing this review about my bad experience with this company. Twice I arrived for a test and twice they ghosted me. That's right, they didn't have staff available to do the test. It is now 3 weeks later and I still have not received the test and my doctor who ordered it suggested I go elsewhere. I think that's good advice. read more

From making the first appointment to getting the results my experience has been outstanding. I arrived at 2:20 and the front end reception ladies were welcoming and efficient. My ultrasound was scheduled at 2:30 and I was having the procedure at 2:30. Tesha explained everything she was doing and was an encourager. When talking to them in a follow up conversation Summer was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Called for my appointment, mentioned my anxiety and was switched to an Open MRI and a note was made in my record. Upon arrival the receptionist was very nice and efficient, especially when she saw that she'd have to call to confirm something on my prescription. I spent little time waiting before being sent back. I was greeted by the administrative person in the back as soon as I walked in and then one of the techs (tech #1) made contact, and soon after another (tech #2) came out to get me ready for the scan. I was handed a comfortable pair of blue 'scrubs' to change into while tech #2 went over the medical questions on my registration forms. Spent a brief time waiting until tech#! came out to take me to the MRI, did a quick double check on my medical information and at the end asked about my anxiety. She'd seen the note and was prepared for me, she followed with offering support as she led me in. In the room with the Open MRI she and tech #1 got me situation on the scan bed, handed me the panic bulb and away we went. Twenty minutes later I was pulled out to inject the contrast. Several minutes later I was pulled out, I was greeted by tech #2 and tech #3 who offered to help me up, I was glad I didn't have to ask. The four people I interacted with in the MRI area were all very kind, considerate and expressed genuine concern for my anxiety and made me feel very comfortable and I can't imagine the process going any better. A number of years before this scan, I'd had an MRI done by someone who was rude, dismissive, and condescending. The experience I had yesterday completely restored my faith in Advanced Radiology and I highly recommend them, especially if you can go during 'senior citizen' hours. read more

I usually go to the Aiello Center and when I scheduled my appt. I was advised and asked to be scheduled at the Aiello Center. I was a half hour before my scheduled appointment. When I was called up to the desk I was told that my appointment was across the street. Mind you, I don't walk well and had a long walk into the Aiello Center and back out. When I arrived across the street I also had to park very far away. I was still 15 minutes before my appointment. I was called up to the desk fast but I told her the test showed that my bladder was also involved in the test but that was wrong and I had verified this with my Doctors office. Somehow it was never changed. I asked her if she could please call my Doctors office and get the correct code. She said that she would have to reschedule me and I said I have and appointment with my Doctor about this tomorrow. I originally had an appt on Monday but they called me and cancelled because their technician was out. I was like why do I have to reschedule and she was very angry and it was obvious although I really don't know why she was angry. I guess because I asked her to call my Doctors office. Anyway she had the nerve to say, Well, if you had been on time I wouldn't have to do all this and she stomped off!!!! Well, my patience had hit it's limits as I was still 15 minutes before my appointment time. I don't understand what her problem was but she did not like me. I ended up saying a few choice words and left. I called and spoke to a manager who asked if I wanted to escalate it to another manager and I said yes, So, right now I'm waiting on a call to talk about how I was treated. This is the first time I'd ever been there and believe me it will be the last time I go there and I will tell everyone about the service I received. read more

The manager Maggie is extremely rude, unprofessional and discriminated. I went to the wrong building because of my navigation system. I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment. The clerk at the front desk from 305 hospital Drive asked me to report to the Admin office for my MRI. Then they told me I was in the wrong place and I WALKED 20 minutes to 203 hospital Drive from 305 Hospital Dr for my appointment. I explained why I was late at the 203 hospital Drive . I even showed her the Admin office tag I got from the 305 building. Maggie said I was 15 minutes late, and I didn't bring doctor's prescription. I told Maggie I wasn't told to bring my prescription when I made the appointment. Maggie yelled at me to check the text messages from Advanced radiology twice Instead of helping me to find the prescription for my MRI . The manager and staff refused to help me and ask me to leave. I walked another 20 minutes to get my car. Did I mention it was raining. The place and their stuff is just a disaster. Please stay away from them. They are absolutely horrible. I had a MRI taken at 200 Hospital Dr a week after. Front desk lady Mandy and office manager Valerie are very helpful, highly recommend. read more

I have been waiting for 25 minutes and have watched 4 non women of color come in after me and get taken right back, while the one intake receptionist held my paperwork until the last woman that checked in was called back. If I could give less than one star to this location, I would. As directed, I arrived 15 minutes before my 8:40 AM mammogram appointment at Advanced Radiology. There were at least 20 people in the waiting room with little evidence of social distancing. I refused to wait inside because of the crowded conditions. I waited in my car for about 15 minutes before receiving a call to come back inside for my appointment. I was directed to a desk behind a large glass window for intake. That service took about 5 minutes, not bad. However, by that time it was almost 9 AM...20 minutes after my 8:40 AM scheduled time. After intake, I was directed to a room for women only, to continue waiting. This room, approximately 10 X 10 feet, had about 10 chairs with four women seated waiting for x-rays and absolutely no way to social distance! My entrance increased the number in the room to five! Clear plastic sheeting separated the seats. As patients were called to another area, no one came to clean the seats or area where they had been sitting. I became furious. I complained and asked to see a supervisor. After 5 minutes, a worker came to the front area but informed me she was not a manager or supervisor. I was told the wrong extension had been called and a manager or supervisor was coming. After waiting an additional 15 minutes, I left the office at 9:25. No manager came to speak with me. As I left, I did see that a worker had been sent into the women's' waiting room to sanitize the seats. Too little, too late for those of us already exposed to the germs of others. I also noticed the hand sanitizing station at the front entrance was empty. This business needs to do better. Their primary focus appears to be get as many people in as possible. Customer service and safety are afterthoughts. In this time of COVID, patients should not be exposed to waiting areas that are not properly sanitized and social distancing is negligible. Needless to say, I did not get my annual mammogram. read more

I arrived at the Aiello Center on 1/26/24. I wasn't sure I was in the right building because I was across the street before. As I ask waiting to as the clerk if I was in the right building, a woman came up and took the sign-in sheet from in front of me. I was like hey, "i was next" she laughed and walked off. Right at the same time that she was grabbing the sign-in sheet a woman who worked at the receptionist/clerk area came up. I was like look, I was next she shrugged her shoulders and basically said oh well. After she saw how upset I was, she said of course we will take care of you. I was like then why didn't you say that to a lay my fears that this woman would go in front of me? She didn't have an answer because she thought it was funny. Needless to say, they did not take care of me. The woman went to have her mammogram before me. I feel that I was treated this way because I was black. I will never go back here again and I will never recommend a black person to go there. There is not a black person in the place and the ladies that work there are rude. Never again. Never again. The woman who jumped in front of me was white. I am black. the staff is all white. read more

This review is not about the staff that works on-site but more about the folks who schedule the appointments. I called and scheduled an MRI for my mom, the lady who was scheduling the appointment was eating while taking information, put me on hold and then asked me the SAME questions. Take my mom to the appointment only to find out that she schedule the WRONG test!!!!! Had to schedule another appointment only to find out once we got there that because she has a Shunt, she couldn't get an MRI but no one told us that prior to the appointment because they were concerned with making sure that she didn't have metal in her body - the doctor (Joe) told us about the Shunt and told us that we would have to come back. Ya right! My mom has a lot of anxiety and didn't want to do that to begin with, after two failed attempts to get this done she was not going back to A.R. for her MRI!!! *Be careful scheduling, make sure you know everything about the procedure because you might get the same lady who likes to eat and put people on hold and waste their time scheduling the wrong test. *****BIG FAT WASTE OF TIME! read more

I was very impressed with the way they made me comfortable with safety precautions. I waited in my car after texting that I was there. Only physical contact was the pen I signed papers and I noticed they wiped the pens after touching them. Felt very comfortable with the tech as well. She explained everything before she did anything. My experience with this center was nothing short of being at deaths doorstep. My checkin was fine, but once taken into the MRI section it went downhill. The tech was not welcoming or informative at all as to what to expect when she was putting me in the machine. I was going in for a scan of my prostate and I was put in all the way up to my chin. Is that normal? The only salvation I had was she gave me the buzzer to call for help which I did after over 25 minutes of torture. read more

Went to Advanced Radiology at 203 Hospital Dr. Glen Burie, MD, evening of 13 APR 2021 with a doctors order for a lung x-ray. Marcia, at Advanced told me I couldn't get an x-ray because I hadn't had a covid test. She and her associate became quite hostile in my opinion as I asked questions. I told them I had moderna vaccine , second shot, six weeks ago and that I had a covid test at Johns Hopkins earlier in the day that was negative. (I needed the test to see the doctor who ordered the x-ray.) I was told that that test wasn't good enough and that I needed the "three day" test. and that I should go to the hospital to get tested. What!! So, I went back out to the car and called Advanced. I explained the situation and was told I didn't need the test and that I should wait while she called the 203 office. I did and she did and she came back saying that I did need the three day test but could offer no explanation. So, following their guidance I went to the nearby hospital, was sent to the emergency room where I was met by the triage nurse. I explained the situation. She said let me call Advanced, because that's not right. She called and was flabbergasted at the response regarding the three day rqmt. The nurse said they would do the x-ray, but there would be a seven hour wait. I finally decided I'd live until the next day and start over. read more

I have gone here twice for my daughter's ankle injury. First was a walk in X-ray, wait time was about 30 minutes for a two minute procedure. The second was a MRI appointment, which took about an hour for the procedure. The staff were friendly and the waiting area was ok. read more

I go here often for my annual mammograms and dexa scan. I've also had a MRI and CT scan here. They are usually very prompt in getting you in an out and I think they have great hours for people who work ( after 4 pm and on weekends, too). They are usually very accommodating. read more

I had two not ideal experiences here. The first one, I had an MRI administered by a tech who was very overworked, alone, and clearly had too many things to do at once. Look, I'm sensitive to the fact that there are staffing shortages across the healthcare industry, but surely there's a better way. I got a call a few days later that my images didn't come out and I needed to return for repeat images 10 days later, which was the soonest available appointment. This meant that I didn't have imaging for my appointment with my oncologist and all our plans had to be tentative. The second time I went here for my repeat MRI, I got stuck in traffic on the way and was a little late. The techs were nice to my face, but they complained loudly in their office (which had an open door and was next to my dressing room) about how unfair it was that they had to take care of a patient that was 10 minutes late. Well, it's not like I wanted to be there! I wanted my first appointment to be my only appointment. Sorry I was 10 minutes late. You were 10 days late. read more

So I had to visit this place for my very first mammogram - oh, joy, WHAT a milestone. (/sarcasm) However, my experience here was just perfect; it really couldn't have gone any better. I went on a Saturday morning and arrived 45 minutes early for my appointment; there was absolutely NO ONE in the waiting room and they went ahead and got me in and out of there. I don't think that I was actually even there more than 20 minutes, maximum. The technician, Valerie, was very efficient and friendly, and she was clear in her instructions as to what to do. The machine didn't hurt that much, and she kept asking if it was all right, if everything was okay, did I need it turned down or up, etc. I was set very much at ease during what is usually a difficult procedure. I was lucky; the minimum number of X-rays were all that were required, and before I knew it, I was waving a cheery goodbye. If you're going to get such a procedure done (and let's face it, every woman has to eventually), this is the place to get it. I'd give it the full Monty of five stars, but.... eh, does anyone really enjoy having their chest flattened like a pancake? See you next year, Valerie! read more

My appt was scheduled for 8:20am. The only reason I came to Glen Burnie is because it's the only location that does the service I needed on a Friday. I was told to arrive 15 minutes early only to be signed in after my appt time. I was asked a ton of PERSONAL health questions in front of 40 people in the waiting room. Um- ever hear of HIPAA?! Then I'm called back fairly quick to change into a gown that could fit a queen sized bed. I sat in the actual X-ray room for 30 minutes waiting on the dr. I have to say, it looks a little dirty but the tech and the radiology doc were both incredibly nice! read more

Absolutely rude check in staff. My appointment was for 7:20 am and I was asked to arrive 15 minutes early which I did. I signed in at 7:05 and sat until 7:28 before I was called. NOT because they were busy but because there was no one at the desk to check anyone in for their tests. When I got to the counter I produced the id, insurance card and the doctors order that I was told when making the appointment I needed to have with me and asked how long it would take since they were late checking me in and I had to be at work by 8:30. No answer was given. I asked why I was asked to be there 15 minutes early for check in when no one was available (at the front desk) for registration. I was told "you are asked to be here 15 minutes early to have you registered in time for your appointment". I responded "well I guess that isn't working so well now is it". Then the receptionist asked about the medicines that I take. I was not told to bring this list and since I am going into testing did not want to carry extra things that I did not need so I did not have names and dosages available at which point things turned ugly because I said I did not have the list to know for sure nor did I have my reading glasses to double check the list pushed in front of me. At this point with no answer as to me getting out of there in time to be at work I decided to walk out and left. I have attempted to call management about this issue and have been told no one is available until Tuesday 10-13-14. Today is Friday 10-10-14. I have to say this is ridiculous. What business has no one in charge. Someone has to be making decisions. This is not the first time I have had problems with this location (Aiello Center at BWMC) or this company. They charge co pays before tests that are not to be charged and I have had to fight to get the money paid back. You can not schedule an appointment for X-rays and have to wait after signing in. Once I waited for almost two hours to register for an X-ray but when I was taken into the area for the X-ray all the techs were sitting around with nothing to do. When I told the tech that I had been waiting she apologized and gave me the number for the manager and told me it is a big problem. They sit and wait for patients yet the front doesn't register them because they are too busy registering appointments and the X-ray walk in waits. Totally unacceptable. I called management then and complained about the process and obviously it does not matter who you call and talk to things are still continuing. After a few of the experiences with this location I started going to the facility at Annapolis on Defense Hwy. Totally different people. The staff is great however wait times are just as bad, but yet the amount of people going through the office are not as great as those going through this office since it is much smaller. I truly believe there is a massive shortage on the needed staff to handle the customer base they are attempting to serve and I am tired of my time being wasted. I have made arrangements with my insurance company and do not have to use this company and will not ever again. I am very glad that companies in today's economy can afford to turn away a single patient who nets them somewhere in the area of 10K a year in testing and that is just my co pay amounts. That does not include what they make from the insurance company. I will NEVER EVER EVER walk into another location and will refuse service if there is no other choice. This location is strange compared to the other locations I've been to. The main floor is nice but the basement with the MRI's is creepy to me. It just wasn't very cozy compared to other locations, other locations are more relaxing and quieter. This location is loud. The MRI area is right next to the elevator maintenance room which was pretty annoying to me. The staff wasn't to friendly either they were running behind schedule and rushing which did not make me feel more at ease. I will not be coming back to this location I will drive to Arundel mills. read more

The desk and scheduling staff are rude. At my last visit, I was completely ignored while two staff chatted on personal issues behind the desk. They didn't even acknowledge that I was speaking to them. When I went to schedule a follow up screening per my doctor. The worst experience imaginable. I was to get a MRI to see if there was a tear in my rotator cup. The technician proceeded to wrap a large, thick plasice device around both side of the shoulder (called a "universal" coil) and pulled the damaged shoulder into the one position that was highly painful. The technician's response to my concern was to tell me that this was the only way they could do the MRI and to get pain meds and come back. Instead, my doctor sent me another company. This company used a "shoulder cup", which was bolted to the bed. You simplied laid flat on the bed with your shoulder under the cup. No pain. Quick, easy. This technician could not understand why a company would not use a should cup, which is the standard way to do it. read more

The staff is really friendly however: When I scheduled on the phone I was given the wrong address. Then when I called for the report I was told I could not have it. I also was told I could not have a copy of the films. It was nice to have a saturday appointment with my hectic schedule through the week. Valerie, my CT tech was absolutely fantastic! Very professional, kind, to the point, and non judgmental. This is where the good part ends. The front office staff and telephone personnel leave an awful lot to be desired. I'm unsure if it's the fact that they are not well trained in the operating procedures of their company, or they just don't really care, as they are getting paid by the hour any way you cut it. They just don't have a dog in the fight, and it is most apparent. Be prepared for being ignored when you first walk in as they don't like to be interrupted from their personal conversations. Then get ready to be condescended to by the #2 person down the counter. Also be prepared for completely incorrect information from the phone personnel when calling to verify information given to you from their company provider reps. Although, in all fairness, when posed with said information from the rep, the voice on the other will attempt to concede that the rep "may be right". Bottom line, I will take all further business to Chesapeake Imaging where the staff is considerably more pleasant, polite and aware of their policies. I will also be making the patients at the office where I work aware of the stark differences between the 2 companies and which will be their better option all the way around. This is the second time I have called the scheduling phone number to request for two different test to be performed at the same time. The first time I show up for the appointment and was told that my insurance would not cover because I have to wait until after March 26, 2019, which I confirmed with the to the scheduling phone number before I even scheduled the appointment. Ok fine I rescheduled for April 2, 2019, when I called the scheduling phone number to make appointment I specifically asked that the check the paperwork they already have on file to make sure I get all test done that are needed. Well guess what I got a call today telling me I would have to reschedule because the person (Dominic) who scheduled my testing did not schedule me for both procedures needed, really if these test we're not important I would say the hell with it. I am rescheduled but not for a convenient day or time. Is it really that difficult to get it right. I can understand and tolerate once but twice really. Of course no one has called me back yet so I can file a complaint. read more

And in general I have been quite unhappy with medical service at other locations in the area. I was so pleased with how quickly everything was done and with pleasant attitudes by the receptionists and technicians. And since I decided to wait through lunch for my afternoon test, the technician took me early even though my appointment wasn't until later in the afternoon. read more
