The MAJOR problem is their understanding of working with a home warranty company. They REFUSE to call the warranty company before doing any work and the don't follow up on the claims. I have been dealing with billing issues for almost six months because of their stubborn refusal to coordinate with the warranty company. Don't waste your time with this company.

After the install of the boiler one of the owners said the rest of the work would amount to 34,000. I told him he must be out of his mind. They give you a different price when they believe your insurance company will fork out that kind of money. I told them to take out the amount for the boiler install which was 6500 and write a check back to my insurance company. To date, I haven't received the check for my insurance company. My next step is court. They are not honest and have no moral values.

Maybe there are some issues with expectations here. I look upon a "handyman" as a resourceful, experienced, hired hand ... not as a licensed contractor ... a "Mr. Fixit", not an engineer or builder. We generally use a "handyman" to fix things are broken, replace things that are worn out, or correct mistakes made by prior occupants of our 125+ year old home. If we're ever thinking about doing a major remodel or addition, we'll be looking for a reputable licensed contractor, not a handyman ... someone we can hold to top quality building and code-compliant standards. About refuse removal ... if you're working with a handyman, that'll be your responsibility. Light accumulations can probably be combined with your weekly trash pickup for free. Anything more that that will probably cost $200 to $400 to have someone haul away (GotJunk, Bagster, dumpster, etc.). Settle this issue with your hired hand before the work begins and it won't come as an unhappy surprise later.
