I returned to the store and, based on a recommendation from a store associate, exchanged it for a different charger. Unfortunately, the replacement charger was also defective. When I returned to the store to request a refund, I was informed that I was beyond the 14-day return window and could only receive a store gift card. Given that this was already the second defective product, I found this policy unreasonable but agreed to proceed reluctantly. However, I was then told that I would only receive approximately half of the original purchase amount. I paid nearly $20 and was refunded only $9. This outcome is unacceptable. Retaining half the value of a product, especially when both the original and replacement items were defective, raises serious concerns about fairness and consumer protection. I have never encountered a return policy that penalizes customers in this manner when proof of purchase is clearly provided. Additionally, I was disappointed by the level of customer service I received from the manager on duty. Her demeanor was dismissive and lacked the professionalism and care expected in a customer-facing role, particularly on a day such as Mother's Day when many customers are already managing busy schedules. I strongly urge corporate leadership to review and revise this policy, as it undermines customer trust and reflects poorly on the company's commitment to quality and service. And on top of it, with the rush hour, there isn't anyone else there to help support the associate up front. Took 15 minutes and I was the first person in line. When I lined up, it was just me and someone behind. By the time I left at 7:00pm, there was 10 other people in line, with others who left because the line wasn't moving. Terrible if Amazon is going to use Staples are a return retailer. tldr: go somewhere else for Amazon returns.
