They quoted this at 14500, and we were looking at both options until we discovered the system was only 6 years old, decided to buck up for the 2500.00 They never got back to me, so researched other companies. Four Seasons came out... found the filter ( was up in the attic space) was blocking the system due to never being changed. We had the other company out in 2022 and no mention of it needing changing , nor this time did they say it was needed Long story short ... four seasons charged me 189.00 including the filter... everything is working beautifully. When I followed up, staff were completely unapologetic. They refused to reschedule me until more than a month after the original appointment--conveniently after all promotional offers on the Generac units had expired. This level of disregard for a customer's time and the appearance of deliberately waiting out promotions before offering service is unacceptable. Four Seasons demonstrated zero professionalism and zero respect for its customers. I will not do business with them and strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

Eric came out and listened to our concerns and answered a lot of picky detailed questions. He did a great job of explaining the challenges of installing AC in an older house, which helped us make a good decision about which type of system to install. And after the installation, Eric came to check air flow in every room of the house, showed us how to optimize that and gave us tips and advice for using the system. As for the installation itself, we were very happy with both Bailey and Devin, the pair who carried it out. Bear Electric did great work to support the installation. And finally, some days after installation, Skylar came out to clean all the ducts, including our dryer duct! Companies like Specialty Heating & Cooling are contributing to this problem with pricing practices that, in my view, take advantage of customers. Last week, I noticed an unusual noise coming from our furnace. I had a good idea of what it might be, as I dealt with the same issue when we lived in a different home. I called Specialty Heating & Cooling and scheduled an appointment. The technician arrived on time, and within five minutes, the diagnostics confirmed exactly what I suspected. That's when I was told there was a $189 diagnostic fee--something no one had mentioned when I scheduled the visit. I paid it, but I made it clear that this had not been disclosed. The technician said he would call after the Thanksgiving weekend with a repair estimate. On Monday, he contacted me and asked for my email. When I requested the total cost of the repair, the quote was $1,186.43. I asked for an explanation of how they justified charging nearly $1,200 for a part that retails for about $142, installs with three screws, and takes less than 30 minutes to replace. Unfortunately, no clear explanation was provided. If their quote had been anywhere near reasonable--say, up to $500--I would have approved the repair immediately. I spent a total of 15 minutes removing and reinstalling that part. The entire process required removing and replacing only three 1/4-inch screws. Given how quick and simple the job was, I'm struggling to understand why the charge was so high. This level of work does not justify the price that I was quoted. However, at this price, I strongly suggest exploring alternatives before calling Specialty Heating & Cooling, unless you're comfortable paying far more than what the job is worth.

We came to the conclusion that upgrading wouldn't be worth it. A heat pump would require a new electrical panel, there were no incentives as I'm propane & not electric, and the duct work is not set up for AC. I wasn't pressured or upsold to a system that would be of no benefit to me but would have made them a tidy profit. We did however, decide that my 25 year old furnace was on it's last legs & needed to be replaced. An appropriate sized unit was chosen. The installers arrived on Monday and finished it in one day. There was a glitch in the exhaust plumbing that was discovered a few days later. I called and since it was late in the day, said that tomorrow would be OK. A technician was there in an hour. He called the office and told them it would take a couple of hours to fix. Once again, I said tomorrow would be OK as we have wood heat too. He got it all fixed then had to run off to another call. The thermostat wasn't working right and they sent someone all the way out to reprogram it. I couldn't ask for better service. Maybe I could have gotten a better price, I didn't check but for what they've done it was worth what I paid. Good solid company after the sale.

Our A/C quit working in the middle of a 100+ degree heatwave. I contacted several companies, but most could not make a service trip to me for several days. I was pleasantly surprised that Whirlwind could make it out the next day. Turns out they are great at what they do. Ivan spoke with me on the phone to discuss what was wrong and what might be the cause that night. The next morning, he was here by 9:30am to trouble shoot. Within an hour the A/C was up and running and Ivan had put everything back as it was. Costs were very reasonable and, more importantly, they were exactly as stated before arrival. I liked most that Whirlwind was great at communicating with me, the customer. Both over the phone and in person. They were clear about the types of problems I could be facing with a 17+ year old system and what the worse case might be (full replacement since my A/C uses a now banned refrigerant). While they checked out the system, they kept me informed every step of the way and I earned a few things. When they finished, everything was put back in place, just as it was when they arrived.
