I arrived for my appointment with some time to spare to fill out any paperwork since I was a new patient. The young man at the front desk was very nice and throughly went over what information was needed and my copay amount through my insurance. Dr. Hwang completed my eye exam and she was very thorough. Luckily my injury was minor but I'll be back for a follow up appointment. I decided to make them my primary optometrist office moving forward since they're a lot closer to my home and I had a great patient experience. I recommend their office!

Before surgery, my prescription was around -10.00, and even with contacts I struggled to read text on my phone at night. I often needed both contacts and reading glasses just to have a chance. Less than a week after surgery, I'm seeing around 20/25 and can comfortably read even fine print. The procedure itself was completely painless, and the recovery has been far easier than I expected. As amazing as the results are, the real reason I'm writing this review is because of Dr. Parikh. Two days before my scheduled surgery, he noticed something abnormal during my pre-op exam. Instead of proceeding, he refused to do the surgery until I had my eye evaluated by a retinal specialist. Obviously, I was disappointed because I had been looking forward to finally getting the procedure, but he put my safety first without hesitation. I asked if there was any way to get in quickly, and he immediately started texting people in his network from his phone. By the next morning, one of his colleagues, Dr. Silva, was able to see me. It turned out I had a torn retina that needed to be repaired before ICL surgery. After the retina was treated, Dr. Parikh and Dr. Silva stayed in communication directly with each other over the following weeks. I didn't have to coordinate anything--they handled it all. Once Dr. Silva confirmed my retina had healed, Dr. Parikh rescheduled my procedure. To me, that's what separates a great doctor from a good one. Dr. Parikh wasn't focused on getting me into surgery as quickly as possible--he was focused on doing what was best for me. He even made himself personally available by text throughout the process, which gave me a tremendous amount of confidence. The entire staff at Furlong Vision was outstanding from start to finish--friendly, professional, and incredibly organized--but Dr. Parikh's level of care genuinely went above and beyond. I couldn't recommend Furlong Vision more highly. If you're considering vision correction, you'll be in excellent hands.

I am a person who asks a lot of questions when it comes to healthcare. I want to know the "why" and not just be told that something is the way it is. I also want to understand preventative care and the future roadmap -- what is causing something, what things can I do differently, what is the worst case / best case / likely scenario, how does my lifestyle affect things, etc. Dr. Pham patiently and comprehensively addresses these questions. Sure, good optometrists should be knowledgeable but that is the baseline requirement in my opinion and better optometrists demonstrate professionalism and good "bedside manner" so to speak. Exceptional optometrists add a level of client care, client education, patience and treats every patient interaction as one instance of a long-term relationship. Just saw Dr. Yang today and she was very thorough and efficient, explaining everything along the way. They see patients of all ages, and have worked really well for my kids too. The front office staff is very friendly and efficient. Appointments can be made by phone or by text, and they respond very quickly if you choose to contact them either way. Parking is right in front of the office, just make sure you enter the parking lot from Crown, not the back lot off of Trinidad (that's a different medical building).
