He gave me solutions when other contractors told me to figure out an alternative (e.g. two previous contractors told me to buy a certain type of vanity based on the location of a pipe and John opened the wall and said, "Nope, I can move or reroute the pipe, there isn't any electrical or anything in the way that prevents it"). I have a handful of examples like that, and it made me realize that the others just wanted to do everything the easy way. He also found a potentially catastrophic problem under one of the showers that had previously been missed. On top of that, I really appreciated that he has an eye for little details - paint touch-ups, visual alignment, etc. Highly recommend.

When I had follow-up questions regarding delivery timing, I left Gayle a voicemail that was never returned. Someone else from Ferguson did eventually call to schedule delivery, which was appreciated. However, the installer Gayle recommended also failed to return calls. When I reached back out to Gayle to ask for an alternate installer recommendation, I again received no response. I don't understand how this level of follow-through is acceptable in a sales role, especially after the purchase has been made. If you're comfortable chasing down answers on your own, you may be fine -- but don't expect proactive or even basic post-sale communication.

I should've listened to my inner voice. After a series of mishaps, I reached out and contacted Ġerman @ build It Up Construction. He and his crew had also renovated my neighbors home and her condo and was highly recommended through other mutual friends that had renovated their home. Ġerman promptly scheduled an appointment to meet with me at my home the same day I let my other contractor go. He arrived on time videoed the area that was incomplete and got me a written bid the same day. Build it up arrive the next morning at 7:30 AM and started in on the renovation project. Within the first two days, they had accomplished more than the prior carpenter did in two weeks. The amount of stress off my shoulders was immense with hiring them. I should've made the right choice to begin with, but I believe they were not available because they were busy on another job. I can't say enough good things about this crew. I ended up referring him to a friend of mine for a small job which he sent one of his guys over the next day. What a small world! My friend remembered hiring them five years ago to scrape his acoustic ceilings and re-texture them throughout his house. He was so appreciative that I got him back in touch with them that he plans on using them for every DIY project. He has moving forward. By all means, do your due diligence and get multiple bids for your project. But rest assured, I vetted these guys and they're solid!

The new sink and faucets are FRANKE high end professional grade and being a different size and configuration from the original sink, the quartz countertops needed to be cut and resized. I was very skeptical and being a perfectionist, I was hesitant to even consider this project and didn't want to risk damaging the island countertop. German, his crew and countertop fabricator came out prepped and protected the flooring, wrapped the island cabinetry with paper, draped and taped plastic sheeting in a bubble around the island to keep the dust at a minimum. The countertop, sink and two faucets came out perfect as if they were always there which is what I was hoping for. German and his crew are professional, knowledgable, kind and efficient. I would recommend him and use him for future projects!
