He took the time to educate my husband and I about our 20 year old roof after a thorough inspection and advised us that it might last another year, but it was in bad condition. Well, we found out how bad it was when the ceiling in my home work office started leaking on my desk one stormy rainy day. I called Bob and left a message asking if he would be interested in checking out the issue for us and he was at our house within 15 mins and was up on the roof repairing that section this time. He didn't charge me a penny and would not take payment. Bob is the most decent, honest and caring business owner I've ever done business with. Bob and his crew take pride in the work they do, and our new roof looks fantastic. Bob gave us a great price, and he went above and beyond to make our roof perfect. Bob's years of experience and his personal code to do the work correctly is reassuring. Victor came out and conducted a garage attic inspection using a tall ladder ceiling hatch. He didn't enter the lighted attic but just did a visual inspection using a flashlight. After his inspection, Victor claimed one side of my roof needed an asphalt roofing patch. What he didn't tell me was that, five to six feet from his attic ladder inspection, was an extremely obvious water pipe leak that had created black fungus on nearby wood. So obvious you could easily view without a flashlight. So what we have here is deceiving a possible customer by telling him he has a roofing leak when, in reality, a plumber was needed to correct the interior water pipe leak. Thus, my one-star rating, which actually should be lower.

Apparently they are unfamiliar with the fact that they are on Groupon so I had to call back when someone from the company was in the office to get on the schedule. For the first time I realize I had been hearing a fair amount of outside noise (which I'd apparently gotten used to), because these windows/doors are soundproof; now I don't hear anything at all from outside! And even better, the windows are easy to open, and my sliding glass doors actually slide well in the track, and are not shaking and drafty when it's windy outside -- major improvements from my old, builder-grade, 20+ year-old windows/sliding door. Further, the service crew was excellent -- careful, kind, professional, efficient, and they cleaned up everything afterwards. Roger, the foreman, has been doing this work for almost 30 years, and Jose, who single-handedly carried in/out the windows/doors, has been doing this work for 10+ years. I didn't get the name of the quiet third service person who was mostly outside and on the ladders, also very efficient. fyi, they did mention that working on the 4th floor of our condos from ladders was a bit more challenging as the original builder-grade windows had been made to fit by being packed/taped in place from the outside, which necessitated them having to actually break some of the glass to be able to pull the old windows out. But they did it - and did it well. Finally, Shaun, the project manager who gave me my estimate and oversaw the project from estimate, HOA approval process, to completion, was great. Highly recommended.

This roof is separate from the roof that covers the major portion of the house and has to be handled separately. I sought estimates from three companies. One was unavailable for 2 weeks (with major rain predicted), one came in with a higher price, and Dan Parks Home Improvement came in with a more reasonable price. I found this company to be reputable, and they were also willing to work on the weekend to get things finished before the weather turned rainy again. I was happy with the quality of the work, the timeframe for completion, and the price. After they completed this work, I hired them to do some other repairs, including work on the chimney (which I already knew I was going to have to do eventually) and repairs to gutters with installation of gutter covers (another project I had been considering). Edit for follow-up: This company also spoke to my insurance adjuster and helped me get approval to proceed with repair without waiting. The insurance adjuster visited this morning, inspected the roof, and approved the claim in full (no adjustment except for the deductible).

My project was complicated because my 1980s drywall shafts were the wrong size for modern solar blinds. Instead of just "making it work" or creating a huge mess with drywall dust, Zach proposed a brilliant custom solution: building a clean birch veneer box with custom trim. It looks stunning and kept my house completely dust-free. What impressed me most was Zach's integrity. During the install, a small piece of my old plastic molding snapped. Instead of ignoring it, Zach took full ownership and replaced the trim on both skylights with upgraded foam-backed wood molding at his own expense to ensure everything was airtight and uniform. It is not a simple fix but an upgrade, for free. See the attached before/after pictures and the broken plastic. Like most customers, I contacted a few contractors before selecting Winfield Builders. Their price is VERY reasonable, and the communication through Yelp was professional and transparent. It is rare to find a contractor who cares this much about the details.
