While poking myself in the eye is not something that I would recommend to anyone, the entire team…read moreat Blink Eyecare were incredible, and I am grateful! I originally was turned away from another local eye clinic when trying to get an appointment via their triage line, and then in desperation, walking in, both receptionists there were brusk and borderline rude, making it seem as if it was a favor to get me scheduled for later that week. My issue was much more time-sensitive; I had lacerated my cornea. I ended up going to Providence Urgent Care in Spokane Valley, and they were also exceptional. They got me taken care of to the best of their expertise, then ended up getting me an appointment later that morning at Blink. The physician I saw at Urgent Care told me how great everyone at Blink Eyecare is; he shared that it is where he and his family go. Everyone from the receptionist to the optometrist whom I saw was kind, caring, professional, efficient, and made a less-than-ideal situation much better. They took care of me quickly and explained everything clearly as they addressed my needs. They assessed my injury, cleaned my eye, and were able to provide a contact lens band-aid with medicine to help heal my cornea. The optometrist communicated with me throughout the entire visit, and the receptionists scheduled me for a follow-up appointment 48 hours later. Once again, everyone was fantastic at the follow-up visit, and I can tell from all interactions that Blink Eyecare is a terrific business and service within our community.

The good: Everyone was incredibly friendly! Every interaction I had from the front office staff, to…read morethe technician who started my exam, to the doctor, and the woman who helped me pick out glasses, was pleasant. The customer service was genuinely excellent. The not-so-good: Before my appointment, I was told they couldn't provide an accurate breakdown of what my insurance would cover until I arrived. I have good vision insurance, and my annual exam should only require a copay. While the exam itself was covered with the copay, I was also charged $100 for a contact lens fitting. At every previous optometrist I've seen, that fitting has been billed to my insurance and covered, so this was an unexpected expense. The doctor also recommended dilating my eyes. I mentioned that previous optometrists have told me my pupils naturally dilate enough that it usually isn't necessary. He said he'd like to dilate them at a future visit just to be thorough. I then asked whether they offered retinal imaging instead, since I've had other offices include that as part of the exam. They do have the machine, but I was told it would cost an additional $40. Overall, I had a positive experience with the people and felt well cared for during the exam. However, I left feeling like there were several unexpected add-on charges throughout the visit. While the staff was wonderful, the overall experience left me feeling a bit nickeled-and-dimed, and unfortunately that makes me hesitant to return.

I just moved to town, and my last pair of contacts ripped as I was taking them out for the evening…read more I called several other optometrists in the area and requested a pair of samples, explaining that I had my current prescription and would purchase a box of contacts from them. Those places all declined to provide a sample pair unless I had an exam, even though I explained I had my current prescription. When I called Northside, Megan answered the phone. She was fabulous! She asked me what my prescription was, found that they had samples, and provided them to me after purchasing a box of contacts, exactly what I needed! When I arrived at the store, a receptionist warmly greeted me and explained that Megan would be right with me. I sat in their lovely waiting room for a minute before Megan got me my samples and ordered me a six-month supply, all for tremendously cheaper than I had paid for that same box at other stores in the past! Megan solved a major problem for me in minutes and with great kindness and respect. The customer service at Northside Vision Center is truly fabulous, and they've made a lifelong customer out of me!

I'd been told "come in if you have any issues!" So I did, but was not told that this would be considered a new visit - and it was charged to my insurance company and incurred an additional $50 copay that I was never informed about until I got the invoice in the mail. It would seem like if you have a strong reaction to something that happened during their treatment, you would be seen without it incurring another charge. OR at least you would be informed of such. The glasses that my husband and I ordered from them scratched easily despite paying extra for scratch protection - and I only ever used the cloth given to me. After shopping around we realized we could have saved hundreds going elsewhere. Also keep in mind that one of their employees is "hands on" - that is will touch your shoulder, arm or get into your personal space. While I'm generally really easy going, it happened often enough and bothered me enough to have to ask to have someone else help me - the request was granted, but the nurse I spoke to acted like I was being unreasonable for making the request, and i had to continue to make the request every time I came in - apparently it was not noted in my file. I hate giving negative reviews, but thought it might help others to share my experience. I will be taking my business elsewhere and encourage others to do so as well.

I've been using Stahls for a few years now and have probably had 3 or 4 exams (the in house docs…read morehave always been great, esp Dr. Haley) lenses changouts, new frames, sunglass attachments, etc. The staff is friendly and I feel pretty much at home there. I know right where the bathrooms are! Comfy chairs for waiting and a lot of interesting frames and a cool exhibit of glasses through the ages. Enough cool visuals to keep your attention while you wait. The front desk crew have nice, attentive folks. I'm writing this rare review because I and Stahls became the victim of Murphy's law during my last lenses order. Twice, the lab sent over some Coke bottle bottoms. Stahls had to eat those. and I feel bad about that. So, they went to a different lab. This all took about 2 months. I recognize some "Karens" out there would blow their top, stage a nice hissy and storm out. Not me. First, I could clearly see they were working hard to correct the situation. Second, I guess I've developed some patience over the years. I've been in that situation many times in my career: trying to make things right with the customer. It's no cakewalk folks and you really should try to walk a mile or two in their shoes. Finally, the "right" lenses came in. I had ordered the magnetic sunglass clip on (which is awesome, btw) but I had ordered brown and they came back dark grey with mirrored(!) lenses. Frankly, I had no desire for either. In retrospect, however, the mirrored lenses make me look like Morphius, so I now think they are kind of boss. I had ordered some pretty close to top of the line stuff, so the bill was hefty. I made a healthy down payment and left thinking "these guys have already lost money on me so I'm not going to hound them". I had every right to, but that is MY disposition (and I wish more people had it). So, on the way home, I noticed that I thought the lenses were getting darker. When I got home on this sunny day, I discovered the lab had sent then transition lenses (which I used to deplore but they have gotten MUCH better since the 80's and 90's). I did NOT order that. So, I called Debi and explained my situation. Basically, color wise I guess, nothing was right. Let's just say this: Stahls bent over backwards to make me happy and in the end, they did and I am. Very happy. I applaud them. NOT the type of service and care you would get at most boutiques and certainly not the service and care you would get with a chain (which is NONE, ZERO, NADA). Debi and her crew understand old fashioned customer service and will make it right. Those kind of businesses are getting to be, so unfortunately, few and far between. I'm grateful to have them as my eyesight partner. I wish them the best and hope you will step inside their cozy office and ask some questions. They won't pressure you. However, they will probably find something for you that you didn't know you needed! You need it now though! Exceptional customer service. Cannot recommend enough.

She explained each procedure as well as what the tests were for. I that love GVS has the option to use an optos machine (around $42 sliding scale) that takes a picture of the back of your eye to check your eye health if you don't want to get your eyes dilated. I hate having weird vision for 2-3 hours so I opted to pay for the optos imaging which took less than a minute! They also have a different machine to check eye pressure that isn't the puff of air :) O.D. Glennie was super kind during my eye exam and also answered all the questions and concerns I had. I chose to do a contact lenses consultation which cost me $70 ($60 once you become a recurring patient) they also have potential rebates for contact lenses.
