Friendly staff and nice waiting rooms. Great optical service. I saw Dr. Sbenaty. She is very friendly and explained everything so I could understand. Very good bedside manners. Going to have surgery on both eyes so we'll see how things go. I'll update after surgery. read more

I've been a patient of Dr Shaffron since way back when his office was just getting started, across from the old Flow Hospital. That's a long time! He diagnosed my glaucoma and prescribes my Eyewear. And while he may be a fine Dr, over the last 5+ yrs I have become more and more unhappy with him and the entire staff. This last visit was the final straw. Over an hour wait past my appmt time before being called back, another 30 minutes in what I call the 'cattle call' room and just for a pressure check! The time before that was for an in office Lazer procedure on one eye. My appmt was for 9am. Procedure FINALLY began at 11:30 because he put the easier procedures first...seems the lazer had adjustments needed for mine. Why not do mine first and adjust for rhe others? The answer was a bunch of mumbo jumbo. Further more, I'm more often than not being handed off on the other Dr's when I've requested Dr Shaffron. I've had 8:30 or 9am appmts and overheard staff say he's "not here yet" while I'm sitting and waiting. Damn, I made my appmt time and he couldn't be bothered? It's sad that so many of our senior citizens sit there and tolerate this kind of misuse- yes I say misuse because that IS what I believe it is when a physician acts like his time has more value than others. I'm done. Found another excellent physician. read more

Although I was very happy with the care from Dr. Sbenaty, I will not be returning. Prior to my last visit and after a change in insurance, I called the office to confirm they participated with my coverage. After being assured, I am now being billed $127 for being out of network. I have called, I have emailed (my emails are now bouncing back) and I have even snail-mailed. Unprofessional, deceitful, and apparently (judging by previous reviews) a pattern. Edited to say, the same day I wrote this review, I wrote a Google review to which the business responded, asking me to reach out. I did, twice, and have not heard back. Today I received a notice that the balance is going to collections. They have no intent of righting their wrong. read more

I say not good but the doctors are fantastic and no their jobs but the billing department is a mess. They do not know how to bill insurance correctly. I have been fighting with them when they will answer the phone or the receptionist types them a message. The office manager is non existent and have never seen a billing person, in person. They have messed up my credit score. Because of them my credit is now down 100 percent. I will never go back to the doctors there and have been going over 12 years due to the mess they have made of my credit and inept in the way billing treats the doctors patients. Also, I have many friends finding a new doctor (doctors) and no longer using Advanced Eye Care Center due to billing. I am sorry for the patients that have to deal with people in the billing department since they are not trained in how to do their job and handle people when I was just trying to help them. I have asked for EOB's and they will not send them to me. I guess they do not now what an EOB is. I will now go somewhere else and make sure they can bill my insurance correctly. What a shame. I thought I was seeing an optometrist for an annual general eye exam. Shocked, my bill was over $600 out the door -- for what I expected to be a $10 co-pay. BCBS covered half. Balance invoice had a $200/eye for allergy diagnostic and and a $100 refractory something. I didn't pay their invoice thinking they were just going to own their own over-charging attempt but they sent a pre-collection letter notice. After 55 minutes on the phone, they took $17 off for the refractory thing and would not adjust the diagnostics. If you go, know what you're paying or you'll get a big surprise. This office is for eye diseases and for people with vision loss. I had no idea what kind of service I was walking into until it was too late. Lastly, Dr. said I have early cataracts and my last ophthalmologist said "you don't have cataracts" and billed me my co-pay $143.00. read more

These idiots refused to listen to my mother's symptoms, or see her. Another ophthalmologist saw immediately she had cataracts. This is the equivalent of a pilot not knowing the wing of a plane. My mother then told the Advanced Eye Care Center doctor what happened and he said "your insurance wouldn't have covered it anyway." Not even true. Cataracts. Ridiculous. read more

This was the third ophthalmologist I had seen regarding an issue I was having in my left eye. Previous ophthalmologists said the problem was blepharitis. I was having chronic eye infection in one eye. I had a referral to Dr. Ekhart and never even got to see him. The woman I saw said I needed MGD Treatment Process & Blepharitis Treatment Process even after I insisted the problem was only in one eye. They informed us insurance would not pay for it. After this horrible treatment process, and a loan for just under $900 dollars the problem did not improve. I went back to my previous ophthalmologist who then referred me to an Eye Plastic Surgery Associates who diagnosed a blocked tear duct. After surgery to clear the tear duct the problem has gone away. The oculoplastic surgeon told me that the blocked tear duct was the problem all along. read more

My Doctor was very nice and caring, just not happy with the outcome at all. Very expensive and that is fine but my eye's are still blurry and water constantly. It's not dry eye's been all through that. Cataracts are gone I guess but the lens really did not help, and they are supposed to be the best. Not a fan of the owner either as his comments welcomed. Service I receive from Advanced Eye Care has always been excellent. During Covid, service was exceptional! In the midst of Covid, I had an issue with one of my eyes. I was very concerned because businesses were shutting down. Ms. Goss came up with a way for the doctor to visit with me, (and other patients) to assess my situation. My relief was immediate. The doctor was able to diagnose and prescribe. With the help of Ms Goss, and the doctor, my eye issue was cleared up and my concern lifted. The kindness, professionalism and empathy is always present at AEC, but continuing to do so with our world in a pandemic state is exceptional. Thank you AEC! D Stansel read more

My family goes to Advanced Eye Care. While I am very pleased with Dr Eckhardt, I do no appreciate the office policy of double booking all day-every day. I saw a comment about waiting 20 minutes; I have waited as much as 2 hours before I got up and walked out. The front desk ladies don't care and will not make any effort to keep patients informed. They just say that they are really busy and you can wait or leave. So unprofessional. I have voiced concerns to the doctor who is very apologetic but nothing changed when I went for my next visit. Guess respect for patients isn't important to them. If they lose one, there's always another waiting for an appointment. read more

Very friendly staff, I came in as an emergency visit. They worked me into there schedule, even though they were very busy at the time.

In my professional life, I would never dream of making someone wait 20 minutes for a scheduled appointment. When I arrive 15 minutes early for an appointment at a specific time, I expect to be seen in a timely manner. I noticed a lot of senior citizens in the waiting room. Evidently, if one is older, one is assumed to be not working and able to wait for any length of time before being seen., I have now left three different eye doctors because of their inability to schedule appropriately. Do not make an appointment at Advanced Eye Care Center unless you are content with waiting forever to be seen. read more

They are extremely slow i didn't even get to see the doctor i was in the waiting room for over 2 hours filled out my paperwork talked to the lady at the desk to see how long and she said we're just waiting on the doctor(what a lie).this eye doctor is very time consuming so if you go to them I would recommend clearing your schedule up to 5 hours because they are super slow and they don't take into consideration that they might be at work but the people who have appointments got other stuff to do with their day read more

So..After a referral from her GP, we arrived at 8:35am for my wife's 9am first appointment for potential cataract surgery. We were informed that the appointment was actually at 10:00am. We returned the routine six pages or so of paperwork at 9:45. By then the waiting room looked like DFW on a holiday weekend with flight cancellations. No social distancing at all. At 10:45, I inquired about her appointment, since numerous late arrivals had all ready been seen. They informed me her appointment was at 11:00am. I don't know exactly where the problem lies in their system, whether it's due to inefficiency or incompetence. Regardless, eyesight is not something worth the risk. My best eye care experience by far! Doctors & staff were super friendly and easy to talk to. They explained everything in detail and answered all of my questions. I was prescribed glasses and contacts that have been amazing for my vision. I would highly recommend! read more

Expect to be here for 2-3 hours if you see Dr Shafron due to them overbooking . The women that checks out clients was also highly rude when I ask for a time frame. Then was very condescending at check out. I take a friend to all her doctors appointments and never have issues at any of the others. It was over 2.5 hrs before she saw the doctor at this last appointment. They also had us waiting in a small room that was extremely hot. Dr. Shafron himself is kind and is the only reason this review is not one star. read more

Dr. Eckhardt is the best. I had cataract surgery 6 weeks ago and I was so nervous for so long but from the first time I walked in Advanced Eye Care I would give them a perfect rating. Everyone from the front desk staff, nurses, and Doctors were wonderful. I will sure be returning for the other eye soon but wanted to write my very first review on this wonderful staff and experience. read more

Just got my sunglasses and they are perfect. I love the DVF style they carry. Advanced Eye Care has a great selection in their optical. I have gotten sunglasses and eyeglasses here and Christy and Barbie really know how to take care of you. read more

Dr. Rogers Eckhart put me at ease as he explained why I needed cataract surgery and what to expect, helping me explore all my options. It went exactly as he said and my vision is perfect.
