I came to Dr. Snooks office with an eye infection due to poison oak exposure. My eye was swollen…read moreand red. Dr. Snook was repulsed by the look of my eye and was apprehensive to touch it due to the obvious infection. He couldn't see a scratch or object in my eye, and handed me a few samples of lubricating eye drops. He said nothing about prescribing antibiotics. I left the office frustrated because I felt I needed antibiotics (eye cream and oral antibiotics) My eye continued to worsen over the next week and my vision was starting to be affected. I made another appointment, but Dr. Snook was on vacation so I saw Dr. Elias instead. While at this appointment Dr. Elias confirmed that I do have a severe eye infection. He prescribed oral antibiotics and an antibiotic eye cream. He said Dr. Snook did call in an antibiotic eye drop medication at my initial visit. What's so frustrating to me is that Dr. Snook did not mention to me that He was prescribing an antibiotic. If he did, I would have picked it up at the pharmacy and used it. At that point my eye infection was so inflamed. I have been dealing with this for five weeks now. It is taking a long time to get the infection and bruising to clear. Although Dr. Elias is very nice and professional, I'm not impressed with Dr. Snook and some of the staff. This morning I called to confirm my follow-up appointment. (I still have a bruise on my lower eye that looks like a black eye.) I gave my appointment time and name to the employee. She said in a snippy tone of voice, "I do not need your name, I need to know which city your appointment is at!" (This group of doctors have offices in Denton, Lewisville, and Flower Mound). I answered, "Denton." When she confirmed my appointment, I asked her what her name is. She again brusquely replied, "Theresa!" I responded, "Theresa, you don't have to be so rude to me." She immediately apologized for to me. I accepted her apology. When I arrived at the office the front desk staff notified me they can't accept our insurance as we need a doctor's referral. I told them our insurance did not require a primary care Physician's referral and if I wanted to see Dr. Elias today I would need to pay 100% out of my pocket. I asked them to call my insurance company. They did, and found out that I do not need a primary care physician's referral. They apologized for the error.

I had great eyesight as a child/young adult, so my first experience with an ophthalmologist was…read moremany years ago when I had a blood vessel burst in an eye and went to another ophthalmologist in Denton who made me feel stupid for being concerned, telling me that "we don't worry about such things". Many years later I starting seeing zigzag halos of light periodically and made an appointment with Dr. Snook. I was so afraid that this too was going to be nothing to worry about and that he also would be upset that I had wasted his time. That was not the case. He cheerfully said that he knew what was wrong, that it was nothing terrible, but that he would do a full exam first to see if there were any other issues before discussing what I had. During the exam, he informed my that I had a mole on my eye. I did not know that a mole could grow on one's eye, and he talked to me about how people can develop melanomas on the eye and to watch the mole for changes. After finding nothing else of concern, he said that I had ocular migraines and explained about them. After several more years I found out that a relative had Fuch's Dystrophy and had Dr. Snook examine me for that. Again, great "bedside" manner and very informative. About three years ago my vision very quickly started to deteriorate after I had a sinus infection. I could only see things close-up and anything more than a few feet from me was very blurry. Dr. Snook did a thorough exam and told me that I needed to go to my regular physician and get my blood sugar and cholesterol checked. He told me my corneas were swollen from high blood sugar. He said that he did not see any permanent damage and that I needed to get my blood sugar under control and that my eyesight would gradually return within about 6 weeks of my blood sugar evening out. Sure enough, he was correct. I like and trust Dr. Snook and have referred him to my parents, who also both like him and have found his advice to be correct and useful, and would recommend him to anyone else looking for a good Ophthalmologist.

My wife and I are in our second year as Dr. Ku's patients. He has taken great care of our eye…read morehealth. Dr. Ku is very knowledgeable and efficient, advising us on the state of conditions he has found, and not charging extra for additional procedures for conditions we don't have. He advises us on nutrition and care for our eyes, in addition to the prescriptions he gives for corrective lenses. His medical and office personnel are professional and friendly, and we've always been seen no more than 10 minutes from the time we arrived. We have had great experiences!

When I asked the nurse how much longer, she replied that there were two more patients ahead of me. I left without seeing a doctor . I understand Dr. Ku is listed as the 'best' by D Magazine. I have a very low opinion of someone who is not respectful of other's time. I understand that physicians run late but not once did someone offer an update. I went to Dr. Ku ten years ago and had a 15 minute wait. Over two hours is unacceptable ! His office in Lewisville is a large cattle call . I was escorted form one waiting room to a second waiting area. IA nurse told me if I wanted service to go see a doctor in Southlake or try to have an appointment first thing in the morning. ) The attitude in the office was one of arrogance as if I should be thankful that I was even given an appointment. I will never refer anyone to this practice. D Magazine should take Dr. Ku off the best list. and issue a retraction.

I've been a patient for a few years now and have seen both Anna Burke and Raymond. First of all,…read morethe staff is very rude, and they do not care about their patients. Second of all, these physicians will do everything they can to get money out of you. That being said, I was going to this office (for around 2-3 years) with the intention of getting my thyroid diagnosed/under control. After multiple blood tests, scans, and referrals to a specialist (mind you the "specialist" they sent me to just told me I was allergic to gluten and sent me on my way) they told me I was fine. I felt like I was being dramatic because I did not FEEL fine, but they insisted that I was okay. Cool, great, moving on. Fast forward to the last few months where I have been having more severe symptoms. Of course I start worrying, and decide to FINALLY get a second opinion because something didn't feel right. And bam, they diagnosed me FIRST try with Hashimotos Autoimmune Disease...The pure anger I had felt was unexplainable. This staff does not know what they're doing, and they will run you around in circles just so they can make money. DO NOT COME HERE!

While I do like Dr. Burke, and feel she takes the time to listen to my concerns, lately when I call for an appointment, she is booked up thru the next 12 months.
