Phenomenal care and professionalism. I had a quite a bit of dental phobia which prevented me from seeing a dentist for a very long time (fortunately, only one cavity!). When the dreaded tooth pain happened, I knew it would result in a root canal and I was very worried to even show up for my appointment with Dr. Alibhai. I shared my concerns and I must say, Dr. Alibhai listened to them *very* patiently. Never ever did I feel as if he had something more important to do than to pay attention to my needs. His demeanor was that of compassion, warm smiles and genuine interest in helping me overcome my fears and get me treated. I went in prepared to take the sedation pill, however, Dr. Alibhai talked me out of it (thank you for that and not overmedicating!!) and suggested I try nitrous only. He got to the root of my fear of oral needles and challenged me to tell him when I think the needle was even in my mouth. He performed the delivery of anesthetic with such precision and astute use of distraction techniques, that I genuinely never felt the needle or any pressure at all. ZERO. I am not kidding. It was Zero. In fact, my hygienist is pretty good too, but no way near as smooth and effortless as Dr. Alibhai. I wish I could have Dr. Alibhai give me all the shots needed :-) Once numb, he put me at ease and completed the root canal. I almost fell asleep and felt nothing at all. No pain, no discomfort. Postoperative pain (rather a discomfort) was minimal and I was back to eating in a matter of hours. Would highly recommend Dr. Alibhai, especially if you are afraid of dental work. read more

Dr. Alibhai is a highly skilled and experienced professional. I would add to the many 5-star reviews for him and his staff. I called with an emergent tooth issue on a Friday morning before a holiday. Despite the fact that it was supposed to be a short day for the office, I was given an appointment that same afternoon. [Keep in mind that it would have been easy to put me off (no room on a full schedule, only open a half-day, etc.) until Monday.] The pain I was having was pretty acute and pressure-sensitive. Dr. Alibhai quickly assessed my problem with care -- dead nerve in the tooth and infection causing the inflammation and pain. He also displays a very humble attitude and compassionate "chair-side" manner. He is really a very nice fellow aside from being a highly skilled specialist. Dr. Alibhai treated me that same afternoon quickly, efficiently, and with great skill. The office is equipped with all the most modern tools to specifically handle root canal therapy with little or no discomfort. I was in the office for a couple hours because he was treating others but the procedure was flawless and the resulting relief immediate. Dr. Alibhai and his staff were so thoughtful and took the time to answer my questions. They also stayed late on that Friday to make sure all patients were properly treated. If you are reading this I suspect you are having tooth pain and trying to select a dental professional you can trust. In my view, Dr. Alibhai is your guy. Advanced Endodontics and Dr. Lim, in particular, were great. The kind of guy you would just like to hang out with. It was my first ever root canal and I was not looking forward to it. I was referred here by my dentist at Bella Dental down the street. Expecting to have a wonderful experience, I arrived there and was told that a root canal was $1,600 per tooth instead of the $1,400 I was quoted. Also, the receptionist was extremely rude, and did not manage several people well. I ended up canceling my appointment and leaving. I got home and decided to shop around for prices (since $1,600/tooth seemed insane), and luckily found Dr. Cohen at West Seattle Endodontics. I was visiting my dentist over summer break, and he discovered that I needed a root canal that was somewhat complex, so he referred me to Dr. Beppu. Dr. Beppu is one of the most competent, kind, and caring professionals I have met. He not only performed my root canal flawlessly, but he also followed up personally with a phone call to make sure that I was doing OK after the procedure. Dr. Beppu and his team truly care about their patients, and I feel blessed to have been referred to such an amazing endodontist! With a supremely sensitive tooth and just 2 days to spare before an overseas trip, I called Advanced Endodontics in quite a panic! I expected them to require a referral or not have appointments for at least a month (as with most other places) and was pleasantly surprised to find that they could see me the very next day. I consulted with Dr.Alibhai who quickly diagnosed one of my teeth as needing a root canal. What I liked about his consultation is that he didn't immediately order scans of my entire mouth but figured out which tooth needed attention by dabbing the teeth with cold water. He then ordered a scan of just the affected tooth to see how bad it was. When I mentioned that I needed to travel in two days, he was quick to reassure me that if I was up for it, he could perform the root canal immediately. However, he was also careful not to pressure me at all and told me to take my time to decide. I was in a lot of pain so I decided to do it immediately. During the procedure, Dr.Alibhai and the nurse assisting him kept me informed of what they were doing. The entire procedure took less than an hour with very little discomfort to me - I was surprised by this! Both of them had very calm and reassuring manners, which added to my comfort. Dr.Alibhai also made a follow up phone call that night, to make sure I was in no pain before the trip - I really appreciated that! Had some "delightful" tooth pain on Sunday, so my dentist referred me first thing Monday morning to A.E. They got me in at noon for a root canal and were wonderful. Explained to me the procedure, got me numbed up, and were totally professional and friendly throughout the operation. Dr. Kenji called me that night to check on how I was doing, and three days later I got a lovely letter thanking me for choosing their office for the procedure. I don't really anticipate having any more dental emergencies, nor do I look forward to them, but if a similar situation arises again I will be picking A.E. for the procedure with or without my dentist's referral. read more

I had a toothache for about three months and had been putting off a visit to my dentist because of the holidays, etc. When I finally couldn't take it anymore, I saw my regular dentist who told me that I needed a root canal right away. Advanced Endodontics saw me that very morning. The endodontist was very professional and calming, and put me right at ease. The entire experience was painless!!! I developed bad tooth pain on Weds., saw my regular dentist on Thursday, and had a referral to see Dr. Alibhai on Friday morning for a root canal. He and his assistant were so personable and put me at ease by explaining what would happen. (I'd always heard horrible things about root canals!) I went in to see Dr. Alibahi for a root canal infection and was treated with apicoectomy surgery. In addition, I was dealing with other physical ailments putting me on antibiotics. He did his due diligence to ensure that he would still be able to continue with the procedure and ensure that I am safe with a weakened immune system. I was definitely a complex case. I must say it was the best experience that one could have for a dental visit. I get very anxious and hate any type or surgery especially dental work. I had severe pain in my both ears. Dr Alibhai advised me root canals on three grinders. I got one done, but decided to wait for other two. He advised the root canals even without taking X-ray of the tooth. In the meanwhile I went to another dentist and he diagnosed that I have a TMJ issue due to which I have ear pain and my teeth are all alright and no root canals are needed. Per my other dentist teeth can be sensitive, but does not necessarily mean to have a root canal unless infection has reached to the nerve, which can only be seen in the X-ray. Dr. Alibhai was so keen to get my root canal, that he was ready to give me next day morning appointment for root canal. I would never return to him now for any dental work. read more

I had an amazing experience at Advanced Endodontics. I called in on Monday evening with minor tooth ache (thanks to a DQ ice cream :P) and they were able to accommodate me at lunch time on Tuesday. Dr. Alibhai was very courteous and knowledgeable and was able to pinpoint the problem quickly. I went thinking they will reschedule me for a later day to do the root canal since I wasn't hurting too bad, but to my surprise, the procedure was completed before I left the office that day, without much pain. Dr. Alibhai followed up the next day to see how I was doing, which I felt was a sign of great service. I was in a lot of pain when I went to the office, and he was very quick to diagnose the issue, while doing his best to keep me comfortable. I was referred to Dr. Karim Alibhai office by my primary dental doctor after x-ray shows possible infection under my tooth with root canal. It was end of year and they were very accommodating regarding procedure planning to minimize my out of pocket cost (as I have no problem at time). Procedure was consistent with expectation and I have no paint after it. However only time shows how well it was done (previous doctor missed one canal 8+ years ago). But compared to other dentist offices I get care in last 20 years I feel like Dr. Karim Alibhai office tries to charge as much money as possible. First, they apparently charge 20 USD patient assessment on each visit. This isn't covered by my insurance as it is not considered to be necessary. I can somehow understand that on first visit, maybe... I don't see it as reasonable at all on second visit when they did root canal. In addition, they charge Occlusal Adjustment - which I am sure didn't happen (doctor simple put temporary filling on and he even didn't ask if it collide with upper tooth). When I call their office, they promise to call me back. It didn't happen. read more
