Was about to head out on a long trip, but had trouble mounting a saddlebag rack due to stuck bolts. After calling, Jim advised that I stop by and they would take a look to see what could be done. After arriving, Jim and Bert stopped their other work and removed the stuck bolts and mounted my saddlebag rack within an hour or two. How often do you take your bike in with what seems to be a serious problem and walk out with a huge smile on your face ? 2007 Ducati ST3S, 11,000 miles on it, cut out on me while I was riding it, immobilizer light came on, would start for a few seconds then die, after a while wouldn't start at all. The Ducati dealer wont touch it because they dont work on bikes that are more than 10 years old. WTF??? But I went to talk to them anyway to A) see if i could get any clues as to what was going on and B) give them shit for not being prepared to work on their own product. The service guy told me that it would probably need a new ECU, and if so a new dash as well, probably out of stock and would cost around $5,000 anyway which is more than the bike is worth. Took the bike to Jim at Advanced Cycle Services. He called me the next day to tell me that it was done. He is a fuggin Wizard! He found a fuse in the ECU that looked ok but was occasionally making contact. Jim charged me for ONE hour of labor, 99c for a fuse, and 4.99 for a new clip. That's it! He explained what had happened, how he tracked the problem down, and the fix. His honesty blew me away as did his expertise. Highly recommended for outstanding work, fair pricing, honesty and good communication. read more

The owner of this shop is very nice old man and he was being helpful. I was there to change my front and rear tires. They've found out my front axle is slightly bent when they took the wheels off. Mechanic kindly advices me to replace the axle or it will causing more problem in the future such as damaging the bearing. I ordered the part and as soon as the parts arrived they give me a call. Very professional bike shop. Has my respect. It's pretty interesting to dig out that the shop owner was a former motorcyclist police officer. They are the Pro of the Ducati's. There are always so many Ducati's waiting in the line to get on the jack for them to check out. I've seem some rare one over there. These guys know their stuff. They worked on my two previous bikes - an Aprilia RSV1000R Factory and Kawasaki ZX-6R 636 - and now they're working on my 2012 Ducati 848 Evo doing the valve service. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my bikes. Not long ago, Jim (and his very knowledgeable assistant), personally helped me out when my bike sprung a bad oil leak. The oil was spraying out of the radiator cooler and all over my rear tire. I showed up unannounced and they basically stopped what they were doing and helped identify the problem. They helped me cleanup the oil and degrease the rear tire. While cleaning the bike, they found another issue with the aftermarket rearsets that I had installed (a major safety issue) and helped correct that too! They didn't charge me for any of this - they really care about their customers. You can't put a price on that. I'd give these guys 10 stars if I could! Amazing service and very competitive prices. Got my rear tire changed today. Done in about 30 minutes. They even cleaned the chain and sprayed a bit of WD-40 on the kickstand because it was a bit squeaky. I don't know if this is normal for all shops but I wasn't expecting it. Appreciate the little extra attention to detail. read more

Like many others have pointed out, many of the local Ducati dealerships don't carry the greatest reviews, and Advanced Cycle Services stands tall as the clear champion. I came early in the morning with to avoid any waiting and Jim immediately received me to take a crack at the bike for a simple oil change/service. He had it back to me under an hour with a few suggestions for a novice rider like myself (even though I've been on my Monster 696 for a couple years now), but his passion didn't go unnoticed. This review is long overdue. I've had two of my motorcycles serviced here since 2012. One is a 1995 Triumph Trident and the other a 2011 Suzuki GSX1250FA. Jim and Norbert have taken great care of these bikes, especially the older Triumph. I've had tuneups, oil changes, and tire changes done here and in each case, the service went beyond just what was expected. One case does require special mention and that was to do the wacky wiring in the Triumph that I've had to deal with for more than 10 years. When I had taken it to the dealer many years ago, I was told to just replace the entire wiring system which would've cost be a lot of money. During a tuneup on this bike, Jim and Norbert spent several hours tracking down loose connections and taping down wires. All this on a 20-year old bike which others might have just given up on. Their love for motorcycles and their dedication to their work shows in the amount of time and effort they're willing to spend to track down problems. read more

My bike was in dire need of a tire change, so I decided to take my business to Jim as I live about 5 minutes away from his shop and I've read good things about ACS on Yelp. I brought in the tires that I purchased online and he had no issues swapping them out very quickly! I decided to take my bike in for a its' 6k mile service even though it only had ~4700 miles on it. Jim explained every detail, top to bottom, of what the 6k mile service consisted of. He made it very clear that the bike probably did not need its' 6k service yet and that if I wanted to save some money, I could bring it in another time for that. That kind of upfront honesty is rarely seen and very appreciated since "scare tactics" with Ducati owners is very common. I decided to get the 6k service done anyway plus some mods on the bike that he recommended based on what I was looking for. I got an estimated turn-around time of about 4 days and I left my bike with confidence. Just two days later, I get a call from Jim that the bike work had been completed. He again took the time to explain everything he had done and his opinion of the overall condition of the bike. Unfortunately I read the good reviews and decided to go there. I wish I wouldn't. They don't care about your safety or a good service. I replaced my tires there. Jim did not replaced my old inner tubes (13 years old) and put the old ones in. I got a flat tire in the middle of the road a few weeks later. Also he broke a bolt on my exhaust and didn't care to fix it. Also he gave me a good quote but charged me more afterwards. read more
