Highly recommend Santa Air/ John T. Over 10 years ago…read morediscovered John on Yelp and since never looked for anyone else. I have 100% trust in John/ Santa Air because of honest, effective solutions and services. John is a professional and a pleasure to deal with. Farhan Cary, North Carolina

To replace my old HVAC system, I hired Santa Air to put in a SEER 17 Trane XR17, at a cost of…read more$16,327 (including furnace). The AC part of the installation has now failed 3 times. On May 31, the system quit (blank thermostat). Santa Air does not work weekend, so we were without AC until a tech came on Monday. He said that there was a loose wire that he reconnected and now it worked. On June 18th, same failure. Again, no tech on the weekend so wait until Monday. Tech stated that it was a furnace switch somehow affecting the AC unit, and replaced it. Then Aug 13th, same thing, black thermostat, no power. Luckily this was a Thursday, and the tech came on Friday. He tells me that there was a leveling problem with the drainpipe and the water backed up and hit a kill switch. He admitted this was probably the cause all along, and they had misdiagnosed. At this point, I asked to speak to the owner so that I could complain about 3 breakdowns in three months in the summer. Maggie is the person who answers phones and directs techs. When I asked to speak to the owner, she wouldn't tell me who it was or let me speak to him or her (if you go to the Secretary of State website, you'll find multiple filings. So either John Tran, or Duy Pham, or My Nguyen own it). Alas, at this point my only recourse is to leave a review for others to see what has been happening. I hope the tech is correct this time, but I have no reason to have confidence in that opinion. Clearly, if it breaks again, all I can do is report the company to the NC Board of Plumbing and Heating and to the NC AG for Consumer Protection.

We were solicited at one of the big home improvement stores and signed up for an introductory…read more$29.95 spring HVAC "tune up". The company they dispatched inspected our 8 year old Trane HVAC unit and sent another rep to tell us that components were failing and deceptively (allthough quite nicely) pressured us to buy a new system for $12,000 before the summer heat started, when units and service staff were not as quickly available. The unit was working fine, so we decided to get a second opinion. We called Blaze and Ben Steffey came out the next day and inspected our unit and disagreed that it needed replacing. He advised to monitor it seasonally and signed us up for the $25 per mo. service plan that also covers inspection of our electrical and plumbing systems, so we didn't even need to pay the $99 service call. We appreciated his honesty and felt that we "dodged a bullet" of unnecessarly having to replace our system. Ben and Blaze have earned our trust, and we will call on them for our HVAC, plumbing and electrical needs in the future. We consider it a plus that Blaze is veteran owned and that they begin their business meetings with prayer.

A technician came out to run a scheduled maintenance on our HVAC systems (we have 2-one older/one…read morenewer). First, the technician was 2 hours late. Second, after he left, the next day our a/c on the main floor (older unit) stopped cooling well. Now, it's an old unit, but we've never had a problem with it. Not until now. We called them out and we were told the unit is broken, and we can purchase a new one for $12,000! Additionally, the part that is located under the floor in our basement, leaked water all on our basement floor! So now we have water damage on our carpeting. Like I said, that unit is old, but it worked just fine before the "maintenance." Our other unit is okay, hence the 1 star. In all honesty, this company should replace/fix the broken unit; they are at fault. Unless you want to take a risk of someone breaking your HVAC unit, I'd call someone else. I do not recommend them.
