The PPF work was subcontracted out, and the quality was poor. On my Range Rover, the film around the rear tailgate was left with a wide, unwrapped edge and an exposed seam that started lifting and trapping dirt within a few weeks. This is a straightforward area to wrap, and it contradicts what I was told before booking -- that edges would be hand-cut and wrapped with no exposed seams as much as possible. When I asked for a repair, the owner Rogelio's answers kept shifting: first that the shop no longer works with the subcontractor, then that some parts "can't be wrapped," then an offer to just add more ceramic coating on the edges. Only after I mentioned I might leave a review did the owner offer to have the panels redone -- and framed it as costing him $1,500 to make me happy, as if a defective install was a favor. The part that ended the relationship for me: when I couldn't find my XPEL warranty confirmation (it turned out to be in my spam folder though I doubt I can utilize this warranty ever), the owner proposed issuing me a Lumen warranty for film that was actually XPEL -- in other words, a warranty from a different brand than what was installed and paid for! I told him I don't want to be sued, and he says they will never be able to figure out. I declined. Whatever the intent, I'm not comfortable with a shop that would suggest that, and I will take my car elsewhere for the repair, having learned my lesson.

My car had never been detailed before, and they did a great job. I am amazed that it looks brand new - I've received so many compliments. Taking off one star for the waiting experience. There is a waiting room, but it does not have AC and needs updating. Alex was unable to give a time estimate. He initially said ~2 hours, but it ended up taking nearly 5. When I dropped my car off, the floor carpet, seat upholstery and buttons/ vertical crannies around the emergency brake were crusty with four years of spilled milky coffee and smoothies. Really, really gross. It's now spotless, and best of all doesn't smell like anything (I opted for no air freshener), where yesterday it smelled like curdled soymilk mold. Alex even removed all the leaves and dirt that had collected under the hood. He was able to do an interior detailing within 4 hours for $100 less than other shops who looked at my car in despair and said their process would take two or three days given the state of everything. (NOTE: All the 1-2 star reviews seem to be about those higher $$$ non-self services.) Will probably become my new go-to carwash place, due to their superior payment machine: you can just tap your credit card, making it much snappier than the old slide-through one at the Somerville Carwash on Washington St where I usually go. More importantly, the timer display is highly visible: nice big 2" tall bright red numbers on a monitor that is slanted in a corner making it much more visible than a flat-against-the-wall display. I just cough up my $6 for 5 minutes, enough time to do the high pressure soap spray followed by high pressure rinse spray, to get the layer of icky road salt off, and away I go. And last but not least, the self service bays are closed at one end, which means you have to back out when leaving, but is quite a blessing on cold blustery days! I would not want to come here during the really busy daytime hours especially when people get out from work, but it does seem to be thoughtfully set up with traffic cones creating orderly lanes for the automated washes, hand washes, and self-service bays---far better than that godawful place in Arlington I tried once. Luckily I always go in the evening after my Y (just 4 minutes away) closes, so no danger of that ever happening.
