I do not recommend this business. Their website does not fuction properly, and the service package names are unclear / do not tell you exactly what is included. I made an appointment online (which required me to pay upfront), but then the day before the appointment I received a text saying that they overbooked and couldn't take me. After two days of multiple miscommunications, they ended up coming to my home (which I initially appreciated)... The service took almost three hours, but after the employee left I realized that none of my interior doors were cleaned completely (the package I selected was "Interior Deluxe P3") and my seats were all left very damp. Overall, definitely not worth the money or time spent. I'm sad to leave this review, since the owner "Joe" was nice/personable over the phone and the employee I met was friendly; but the entire experience was frustrating, and the business seems very disorganized. read more

I made an online appointment and called the day before to confirm it. However, when I arrived, no one had any record of my appointment. They told me they had three cars to work on before mine, and only two people were working. I initially wanted both interior and exterior cleaning, but since I had to wait, they said my car wouldn't be ready in time. I decided to go with interior cleaning only since I really needed the service. Before leaving my car, I asked about the 10% discount mentioned on their website when booking the appointment. Later, when I got a call that my car was ready and went to pay, the guy told me he didn't know how the system worked to apply the discount. I know it's not a big discount, but if they offer something, they should honor it. In the end, I paid the full price. Not sure if I'll be back. :( read more

The good: - Showed up without appointment on a Friday afternoon and they took me in - The car was clean and smelling good The bad: - Said it will take approx 2h and they will call me. After nearly 3h wandering in the mall, I decided to go check and the car was ready but they didn't bother notifying me as announced. They could have told me they won't call instead of me waiting for that ring - Location is difficult to find, more precisions with parking details / row number on google could help The ugly: - I had my garage remote, a small ice scraper and two hydroalcoholic gels in the car. After paying and leaving, I quickly realized that all my belongings were missing. I drove back and they couldn't find them. After nearly 10/15 minutes looking around in different places, they finally found them in a bag placed in other car. I was lucky enough to claim my belongings few minutes before this other car took off. I only recovered the garage remote and the small ice scraper (the most important ones, but still)... the guy apologized but for the price, the service ended on a bad note and I will not be back! read more

Had an incident at work that resulted in the back seat of my car being contaminated with fecal matter. I was able to get an appointment for 10:30 the next day but ended up getting off work early and brought it over the day of just in case they could take it in. Everyone there was incredibly nice and understanding of my predicament despite the short notice. I told them to give me the works and left it over night. After returning the next morning, I found my car absolutely shining and smelling amazing despite the arguable war crime that had happened the day before. They really saved me and even gave me a discount. The price was absolutely fantastic for the job I got and I'm planning to come back once a year for winter detailing as well as snagging a quote for a wrap job. Thanks a ton, guys! read more

I have no idea how they can claim "hand wash," other than that the workers all have hands. I watched my Tesla being pounded by the pressure stream from a power washer. While that was happening, someone else briefly wiped some of the lower panels that were heavily coated with dirt WITH A RAG THAT WAS NEVER TURNED-OVER, much less rinsed. I thought hand wash meant the careful, non-abrasive Handwashing that Tesla claims is needed for these cars. On the positive side, most of the little spots of tar did come of, after I cleaned my car by hand with the supplies I keep in the trunk. So If your car can be put through a regular car wash with no concern for the finish, this place does an acceptable job. If you take Tesla's recommendations seriously, this is not the place read more

Well... I wish I could've given them a shot. Clearly they should market themselves as a "luxury detailer only" because that's the market they are hoping for in clients. They were responsive in booking but then called 20 minutes before my appointment time to confirm the time - that they didn't have written down. I got there... the dude looked at me like I had 20 heads because we have a car seat and "I don't know what to do with that." So I took the seat out. By the time I got into the mall, he was calling me to tell me that the VERY minimal dog hairs in my car would cost me an extra $80. Clearly they didn't have the time, energy, or car to take care of normal family cars. Easy enough to find and support a small business with people who actually care about the work they do. Very unscrupulous owner. We bought a groupon, made an appointment, and made to 30 minute drive there, with a friend following me to give me a ride back. The car was a 2011 model mini cooper with 3,900 miles, and the owner, a brazilian speaking fellow, saw it and immediately tried to upsell. "aww, this is too dirty, we need to charge at least $50 extra". Anyhow, he went on to tell me how he only gets $30 from the groupon, and he "can't clean a car for $30", complaining how groupon takes all the money, etc., etc. He even suggested I go clean my car and bring it back to him. I reminded him I wouldn't need to bring him the car, if it was already cleaned. My logic was lost on him. He was committed to the bait and switch. I know what dirty cars look like, this was not a pet hair laced, baby food caked, mess of a car. Its less than 10 months old and I use it alone, don't eat it the car, don't smoke, am a professional that doesn't haul building materials (its a mini cooper, don't forget). I purchased a group on for a car detail with them and I am so happy I did! They did a great job, on the interior and believe me they had their work cut out for them! The car came back smelling and looking wonderful! I was pretty happy with the exterior. They did charge me an additional $20.00 to take off the tree sap, but they informed me of this ahead of time. There were no other additional costs or surprises. They were also super friendly! Coming from someone with zero car knowledge, whose car generally looks like dunkin donuts trash can....I consider this money well spent! read more

For Christmas, I took my boyfriend's car to Effective Car Detail for a MUCH needed cleaning. I shopped around for prices and services offered - and also, proximity to public transportation (as they need the car for 4-5 hours and we were car-less). EC Detail is about a 5-10 minute walk from the Brookline Village T stop. A lot of Yelpers had really great things to say about Scrub-a-Dub and the Allston car wash, however they only offer complete car detailing between April-November (or weather-permitting), so they were out. For a little over $100 (they offer a 10% discount for making an appointment online) I had the complete interior done and the exterior hand washed and waxed. I didn't do the complete exterior which steam cleans the engine, cleans under the car, removes scratches, etc. since the weather is nasty and I figured it'd be gross in a day anyway. They did a PHENOMENAL job on the interior. I am completely stupefied by how they removed crumbs and stains that I thought would NEVER leave that car. They shampooed and cleaned the carpet, conditioned the leather, and made everything look shiny and new. Even the trunk was spotless (and believe me that trunk was filled to the brim and had some questionable substances on the floor). The car looks essentially brand new. And who doesn't love that clean car smell (soo much better then the mix of stray Burger King french fries and Crapplebee's leftovers). The only issue I found was that it was a little sketchy. I imagine most auto places are. They advertise that they accept credit cards, but when I went to pay them, he said cash only (and didn't have change) ... Even if the kid did pocket the cash, we still got a freakin clean car. My boyfriend seems very happy to once again take pride in his nice car (which WILL stay that way, damn it). And I enjoy sitting in it now. Everyone wins. read more

Took my car in for an interior detail. They did an amazing job on the detail. BUT IT TOOK 5 HOURS. I made an appointment and they confirmed that appointment via email. I brought the car in on time. 5 hours later they called me to say it was done. Yes, their disclaimer says it could take 3 hours, which is ridiculous, but 5 hours is unacceptable. I was just never going to go back but here comes the kicker that has driven me to Yelp: I received the email receipt and at the bottom it says "FUCK OFF". No joke. Just don't waste your time here, there are other places to get your car detailed and/ or washed. read more

I usually detail cars myself but the weather was getting cold and I had to put my car away for the winter so I ended up using a Groupon to get my car detailed here. They did an ok job....I get a better shine using off the shelf California Gold's 3 stage cleaner/sealer and wax. I didn't care too much since the Groupon was cheap...you get what you pay for. The reason for the one star was my car has a Clear Bra to protect the front end, bumper, and mirrors. Whatever product they used, it left a very dull haze on the clear bra. I tried to buff it out once I got home but when I looked more closely, it was all scratched up. I guess whoever detailed the car used a mild abrasive on the clear bra. Not a huge deal since the Clear Bra is easily replaceable but an amateur detailer like me knows to only use non abrasive carnauba wax on clear bras. I figure "pros" should also know. I bought a groupon earlier in the year for their car detail special. Unfortunately we when tried to schedule an appointment for our detail, they said they were booked solid for a couple months. I wasn't surprised because the groupon deal was hard to pass up and I was sure plenty of people bought this deal. We finally were able to book our appointment a month ahead of time. After reading all the reviews I got a little worried. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones because we had no problem at all. We found the car spa easily. There's signs inside the garage that lead you there. We dropped off the car and gave them our groupon. He told us it would take about 4 hours. We already knew this from the confirmation they sent us. We planned to walk to Framingham theater and catch a movie to waste time. After the movie, about 2 hours later, they called us saying the car was ready! WOOHOO! Now, since they did say it could take 4 hours and it only took 2 hours. We were a little weary. But, the car looked great!!!! It didn't smell too strong.. everything was cleaned and shiny! We were definitely pleased. We did notice they didn't clean the inside mirrors.. but that was the only thing we found untouched. Don't be afraid to give them a shot.. We would return again if it's wasn't so far from us. read more

Went in for an exterior deluxe package. Also asked them to look at some scratches a dog left on the driver side door. Car was cleaned very well. Very satisfied with the quality of the work. They polished down the scratched areas as best they could. Scratches might be down to the paint, unfortunately, but they minimized the appearance of them as much as possible. I have actually been here before and had a great transaction. The first time, I walked in with no appointment, it was fast and they did a good job. Which is why I was so surprised the second time around... I made an appointment and showed up - the man walked over my car to inspect it and was very rude. He told me that because I had a third row in my SUV, it was automatically 50% more. I half joked with him that my third row is a waste and that it couldn't fit a baby doll (it's an '07 highlander - most of them don't have the third row for that reason). But he didn't budge, or smile, or stop being rude. He seemed mad to have to talk to me. So I left, and was called to say it was done about 3 hours later. I consider the work done to be an interior cleaning - they vacuumed/shampooed the carpets and wiped down the dash. When I pay $200 for a detail, i expect them to do the details - in the air vents, cleaning the sees of the seats, etc. It was the way that i would clean my car on a Sunday. I am not impressed and certainly will not pay that much money for a mediocre clean and rude customer service again. read more

The Car Spa Natick did a great job cleaning my car and in a timely fashion. I was quoted a time frame of 3-4 hours and they were done in about 3 hrs. The fact that it is located right in the garage of the mall is very convenient as well. However, I docked a few stars for a few reasons. First, it was somewhat difficult to find the location so I tried to call and there was no answer. The online booking feature was great, except that the confirmation text of the appointment did not come until a few hours before the appointment time. These details would be minor and forgotten about due to the nice job that was done, however, I was charged an extra $40 for dog hair, which I could understand if dog hair was excessive, but it was only a few stray hairs. I have never been charged for dog hair at any other car detailing place before. Unfortunately, I will probably not return due to this "dog hair fee", which is a shame due to the high quality job done and the convenience of being at the mall and the proximity to my house. read more

The car came in smelling fine; a couple of days later it was completely funky. When confronted about it, they insisted that I leave the car for a full day there. Well, sorry, it doesn't take a whole day to redo the shit job of carpet cleaning you did in the first place. Very unhappy with how they tried to fix the problem. Effective Car Detail did a great job on my car this morning. I had the complete interior cleaning package, which also includes a basic exterior wash. The car looks new in the interior. With a 10% coupon for reserving online, this detailing was only $90. Why three stars? I made an appointment for 8am, and the place was still a ghost town by 9am. The landlord of the building (not affiliated with the business) appeared, opened the bay to the garage, and parked my car inside. He told me that this was a laid-back kind of place and the employees usually show up around 9am or so on Saturdays. I left for a bit and when I returned around 10am, there were three people working hard on my car -- they finished by 1:30pm. Overall, they did a good job -- but I don't suggest the 8am appointment. Credit card processing machine wasn't working (I interpreted this to mean that they don't have one), so I had to pay in cash. read more

I was given a gift to get my car detailed here, and very excited since I work nearby. Two hours after I dropped off the car the Manager called me telling me they were going to charge me extra because of dog hair. Well, my car was not that dirty plus I use a cover to protect my seats in the RARE occasion that I have my dog in the car, plus my car interior is leather. I told him in no way I was going to pay extra and to stop and I would be there to pick up my car. Once I got there, he had left, my car was completely clean as had been paid for ($159.00!). I tlaked to the gentleman who cleaned my car and he even told me my car was not bad as well. So I tipped him! Go to Framingham Ford to get equally as nice of a detail if not better, for only $120.00 and nothing extra for anything, but with a big thank you and smile. That is where I will continue to do my business, for they know what customer service is all about to build a customer base! read more

My daughter dumped a whole bottle of milk in the backseat of my Subaru which was already pretty messy. Milk can really stink up a car if you don't get it all - and get it quickly - so I panicked. When I called the Car Spa, they completely understood my predicament. He dropped what he was doing and took my car right away. And since its right at the Natick Mall, I was able to hang out in the mall during my unexpected visit to get my car cleaned. The car came out beautiful and It's been weeks and no nastly smell of rotten milk from car. I'm super happy with it and just made an appt to do my wife's car. My car didn't stink like perfume as others are saying - but I knew to ask for no/light deoderizing. ALL the auto detailers put that stuff in your car - you have to remember to ask them not to, that's all. read more

I used a Groupon for my 2009 RAV4 last week. I was able to get an appt. easily and dropped off my car in the afternoon. It was completed at the estimated time. The results were EXCELLENT. The SUV looks like brand new and the detail work was thorough both inside and out. The man working there was helpful and polite. I did request that deodorizing be minimal as suggested by previous Yelpers. I would recommend this service to anyone. read more

Big mistake. These people are amateurs. I took my black BMW 340i there to take a chance on the $169 detail job. The result was a cloudy film on my car, no shine, a damaged hood xpel ClearShield that will cost $600 to repair and additional damage to the edges of other ClearShield panels from the cheap wax that was not buffed out and subsequently turned white, hard as concrete and virtually impossible to remove. I have a luxury car and was concerned about the type of products that would be used, etc. Bruce at Car Spa did an excellent job of washing and detailing my vehicle. I had some parking stickers on the window that I had been unsuccessful in removing and he took care of them as requested. Additionally he came across a markasite necklace that I had forgotten I had.
