This husband and wife team have been great to work with the past 8 to 10 years. I need to visit them once or twice a year, due to California's BS smog laws and their need to pilfer more monies from you (by way of having to pay for a "certificate"). But that's a whole other rant... Each time I have made an appointment, arrive a few minutes early and am out of there it seems within 20 minutes on average. One year I had a catalytic converter take a dump and they were able to fix / replace it within 24 hours. They do auto repairs now (the State would not authorize it in years past), so I may enlist them for this activity if I become discouraged with my current mechanic. What a great family shop, Rolled in today after work with a.c that was not blowing cold, mond you it was about 105 degrees. Was warmly greeted , and assured that Greg would jump right on it. Greg inspected my old truck, asked a few questions and knew right where to start. Most recent I had issues on a road trip with service lights. I took my car to dealer of which I was told my car needed $300 worth of work I decided to wait, as was not urgent at the time. Worst auto shop ever. Greg (the owner) said our Jeep didn't pass smog. We agreed to have him install a fuel injection system. It literally never ran correctly. One time we had it towed home. After 9 months he said "take it some where else and I'll reimburse you". As it turned out the system he installed was NOT California compliant. The whole thing had to be replaced at great cost. Then he refused to reimburse us. We had to go to court to get it back. He is a liar and highly unreliable. read more

Walking in was peace full experience, the man at the counter was very kind, he let me know the wait would be 20min or greater and handed me the TV remote so I could be comfortable. After 30min of waiting he brought my car out; following to tell me my car has a certain type of code that he doesn't carry equipment for. It would have been nice to know that up front, or as soon as he knew he couldn't supply for my needs. I would just note if you have a car that runs electrically don't get your smog check here. Service was fast and friendly for a smog and oil change. Felt a little taken advantage of when asked to check my brakes because I knew they needed to be done desperately. They told me $600 and that my front and back rotors could not be salvaged. Took to a different mechanic and got my rotors turned and all new front and back pads for only $200 read more

If you are looking for a smog check don't go to Advanced Automotive Smog, and this is because I was ripped off along with other people I know. He made up visualities to make the bill larger. Even if your car passes the smog on the computer the visualities will cost you a fortune. He was very rude and mean to me, and if you decide for whatever reason to go by him make sure you go with a police escort or a big tough guy because he told me, (because I questioned the visuality) that he would knock my head off if I don't shut up. Then because my car has been passing for the last 37 years, and I showed to him from the DMV that they gave me a copy of the original parts that came with the car, he didn't accept and threw the copy at me saying "If you don't get the fuck out of here I'm going to kill you". read more

First of all, I did not pass smog because my poor car was done for. However, Greg worked to try and fix the car for two days, only charged me for 1 day of labor and was totally honest about the results "Not worth fixing". I love this place! I started taking my Toyota Highlander there several years ago when I first needed a smog. At that point I had only ever taken my car to the dealership for any kind of service. Obviously - SMOG was something I had to do elsewhere. I was greeted by Greg who was very friendly and helpful. He got me in and out very quickly with no issues. He even diagnosed something on my car that Toyota had been unable to do for over a year! MENIFEE PLEASE DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE!!! If I could rate this place less than one star, I would. I normally take my car to Tri-star smog station, but they were busy so I didn't wanted to wait and decided to try this place. After waiting over 2 hours they came back with, YOUR CAR FAILED SMOG TEST...ECT....ECT. and here's what we can do for you to get your car to pass a smog test. It will cost $200 to do this test to find out the problem so we can fix it. An hour later, "Ok the test showed it coming from............ and it will cost you $200 plus more to do this and it's not guarantee that this will fix the problem....after a few minutes pause, I said ok. Thur far, it's over $400 including the 60-70 dollars smog test. Well the day when, cause they couldn't finish the job. On the following day, they found more problem and told me they found more problem this area........ and it will cost me $180 part and additional $150 for this. The cost now is close to $800. The owner of the shop came in later and I noticed 3 mechanic and him were talking about my car and laughing. The owner later walked into the front counter area looked at me and never even said hi or smile, like I'm not even there. Anyway, long story short....I told them to stop find more problems on my car and just fix the issues and pass my smog test so I can be on my way. What a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE IT WAS. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO DO SMOG AT THIS PLACE. That morning, 6 cars failed the smog test while I was waiting and every one of them were in the same boat as I was. They should not allowed a smog station to repair vehicles. If you failed they should tell you what it's that you fail and take the problem to a diff auto repair place to do the work. I SMELLED RIP-OFF ALL OVER THIS AUTO REPAIR/SMOG STATION.I will contact BBB and file a complaint with them in the near future. read more

We have used Advanced Auto Smog for years now and never had a problem. When our vehicle needed a smog cert. we called and asked them how much would it now cost. The gal in the office name Rachel (or Rachelle) said that their normal price is $59.95 but they automatically give $10.00 off that. I told her that we had been coming there for years and she said that since we have been long time customers she would give us another $10.00 off making the price $39.75. We had to drive across town to their place and drove right passed other smog stations including one I had a coupon for $49.95 so it seemed like a good deal. We did trust them. However when my husband got there and the smog test was done he had to pay $49.95. It seems that they have different prices depending on who you are and if they feel like honoring their word. I called them and they were not at all concerned about it. Too bad for me. Even though we have taken a number of vehicles to them in the past, we won't be going back there in the future. read more
