This husband and wife team have been great to work with the past 8 to 10 years. I need to visit them once or twice a year, due to California's BS smog laws and their need to pilfer more monies from you (by way of having to pay for a "certificate"). But that's a whole other rant... Each time I have made an appointment, arrive a few minutes early and am out of there it seems within 20 minutes on average. One year I had a catalytic converter take a dump and they were able to fix / replace it within 24 hours. They do auto repairs now (the State would not authorize it in years past), so I may enlist them for this activity if I become discouraged with my current mechanic. Excellent customer service, by both parties, every time I have visited! For a smog station they get the 5 star rating from me :-) read more

This team of husband and wife really works well. I am a repeat customer. These folks KNOW THEIR CRAFT, PERIOD. I am a picky consumer when it comes to auto service and repair. These people won my heart with their professionalism and EXPERTISE. I hope they continue their superb service for many, many years to come. -Jose Martin read more

Our mechanics of 12 years at Old Town Tire and Service recommended Advanced for my smog. What a great referral, great price, excellent customer service and they take appointments!! Which is awesome for a smog. I was in at 10:00 and out the door at 10:20 random down to AAA and had my tags in 15 minutes! I will definitely be referring them! Won't go anywhere else to get my smog! read more

How would i rate my Smog experience at this facility?I wouldn't recommend this facility to anyone, not even my worst enemy!!!I'm a struggling single Mom of a 14yrold son barely making ends meet.I paid $1,100 in unnecessary repairs, being told my vehichle will not Pass Smog. Then this facility wanted an additional $900 stating the check engine light is OFF,but it should be ON because your vehicle is still having mechanical issues.I finally had to cut the cord, picked up my vehicle and the next morning i went to a smog shop in Escondido and it passed smog with flying colors!!! read more

Richelle is amazing...I dread any auto work.. but between her and the sweet puppy I had a much easier time ...

What a great family shop, Rolled in today after work with a.c that was not blowing cold, mond you it was about 105 degrees. Was warmly greeted , and assured that Greg would jump right on it. Greg inspected my old truck, asked a few questions and knew right where to start. Greg pointed out a few minor issues that should be taken care of as my budget allows.30 minutes later I was back on the road , with a.c as cold as the day it rolled out of the factory. I have been in the towing industry for 22 years and have always used the same shop, till today. They will have all my repairs from now on. What a great shop, family and care for the customer. Way to go guys! Mike @Djs towing read more

This place I don't know He gave me a quote of $1600 to repair the check engine light. when I came in he said I could fix it for cheaper buuut he didn't want to be liable. Ok whatever I took the car and declined service he charged me 110 for the diagnostic and took up my whole day which I didn't have to spare. I ended up fixing it for $250 and passing smog. read more

Getting your car in for a smog check is never fun but Greg and his wife make your visit almost painless. Always accommodating when scheduling your appointment and great customer service with honest appraisals of your test results. Please support this local family business. read more

What a great way to support the small and independent business owner! Greg is an honest and reliable repairman for all your automobile repairs. They even do smog checks here! Way back in the day, I took my vehicles to Goodyear and every time...there was always something wrong with my 2 year old car....and more money! But that was crap. Greg does the work correctly and efficiently and doesn't try to "upsell" you on stuff that doesn't need to be done. He will however, tell you if there is trouble brewing with you car and you better keep an eye on it to see about future repairing. My son took his car in and Greg was very honest about the condition it was in. Treated my son like his own son and wanted his car to be in safe running condition. Thank you Greg! read more

When you come across someone you can trust to do the job right its time to share. I was referred by coworkers to give advanced automotive smog a try. My first visit was last month when I took my car to Greg for oil change and smog. Great service , affordable &One stop shop. Very trustworthy. Most recent I had issues on a road trip with service lights. I took my car to dealer of which I was told my car needed $300 worth of work I decided to wait, as was not urgent at the time. Good thing I waited, once back in town I took my car to Greg and he addressed the issue quickly and honestly. Needless to say it was a simple fix . Greg saved me $300. And he now has a new customer . Anyone out there in need of a trustworthy mechanic know you are in good hands here. My sincere gratitude goes out to Greg for his honestly and good work. Thank you Debbie read more

ONLY place I've taken my vehicles for smog inspections for about 10 years. Trust Greg 100%. I had a performance vehicle that was being difficult, and he spent a few hours tinkering and tuning it, making sure it was legal and passed, and didn't charge me extra. I'll never pass up that kind of customer service. I now drive 25 miles out of my way, with newer cars I know will pass, because I won't go anywhere else. read more

I had a friend refer me to this place and it definitely was a good choice. Very reasonable price, accommodating, fast & great service- I can go on and on... Greg is very knowledgeable, polite, and honest. Plus, you get to support a local family business! I was very happy with the service they provided. They earned a lifelong customer! read more

Worst auto shop ever. Greg (the owner) said our Jeep didn't pass smog. We agreed to have him install a fuel injection system. It literally never ran correctly. One time we had it towed home. After 9 months he said "take it some where else and I'll reimburse you". As it turned out the system he installed was NOT California compliant. The whole thing had to be replaced at great cost. Then he refused to reimburse us. We had to go to court to get it back. He is a liar and highly unreliable. read more

They are a great team!! Was referred to Greg and his crew after my car broke down, and I will be going to them from here on out! Super nice and professional and no BS. Knows his stuff and quality service. I now will be the one referring them to all my friends/family. read more

I've been taking my vehicles to Greg for years and always been happy with his business. Straight shooter, no BS, trustworthy, polite, helpful, informative, knowledgeable mechanic. Smog testing is just a small fraction of what they can handle. Greg takes care of all my maintenence as well as repairs. From my Cummins diesel to my V8 ford to the wife's 4 cylinder turbo advanced automotive has always taken care of me, my family, and friends. I recommend anyone looking for a reliable mechanic to go see Greg. Greg does not push extra maintenance or repairs like most facilities. He will tell you exactly what's needed and leave it up to the customer to decide. If your not knowledgeable, and nervous about getting ripped off, I suggest you go see Greg for honest work. read more

Walking in was peace full experience, the man at the counter was very kind, he let me know the wait would be 20min or greater and handed me the TV remote so I could be comfortable. After 30min of waiting he brought my car out; following to tell me my car has a certain type of code that he doesn't carry equipment for. It would have been nice to know that up front, or as soon as he knew he couldn't supply for my needs. I would just note if you have a car that runs electrically don't get your smog check here. If your car doesn't run electrically then I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Service was fast and friendly for a smog and oil change. Felt a little taken advantage of when asked to check my brakes because I knew they needed to be done desperately. Greg did a great job with the smog for my F250 Diesel. He came highly recommended from a long time diesel repair facility I have used - and i see why. If you are looking for a smog check don't go to Advanced Automotive Smog, and this is because I was ripped off along with other people I know. He made up visualities to make the bill larger. Even if your car passes the smog on the computer the visualities will cost you a fortune. He was very rude and mean to me, and if you decide for whatever reason to go by him make sure you go with a police escort or a big tough guy because he told me, (because I questioned the visuality) that he would knock my head off if I don't shut up. Then because my car has been passing for the last 37 years, and I showed to him from the DMV that they gave me a copy of the original parts that came with the car, he didn't accept and threw the copy at me saying "If you don't get the fuck out of here I'm going to kill you". read more

Keeping it real: I recently was in need of some serious service and repair on my 2003 Chevy S10. I have been trusting all my automotive services to Greg and his wife Raschelle and their supporting crew at Advanced Smog and Repair for several years. No matter what service I am in need of, Advanced Smog and Repair taken on the job with the most excellent and professional attitude and respect of their customers' needs and concerns and that I believe that most other businesses seriously lack. Greg evaluated the service and explained what and how he was going to do to achieve the most best and efficient way and means to complete the service in a timely and satisfactory way. Within a day's time, Advanced Smog and Repair had completed the service and as usual, with very positive results. I can only once again reinforce the fact that, if you are in need of a very reliable mechanic, I highly suggest Advanced Smog and Repair for all your automotive needs. read more

First of all, I did not pass smog because my poor car was done for. However, Greg worked to try and fix the car for two days, only charged me for 1 day of labor and was totally honest about the results "Not worth fixing". I definitely trust Advanced Automotive Smog with my car, they will not do work just to charge you, they wanted to solve my problem as badly as I did. They also were super flexible, dropped my car off before opening and was totally taken care of. read more

Excellent service here. Paying for work on your vechile is never fun. The owner and his staff make it quick and as painless as possible. My knowledge of automobiles isnt the best. I love this place! I started taking my Toyota Highlander there several years ago when I first needed a smog. At that point I had only ever taken my car to the dealership for any kind of service. Obviously - SMOG was something I had to do elsewhere. I was greeted by Greg who was very friendly and helpful. He got me in and out very quickly with no issues. He even diagnosed something on my car that Toyota had been unable to do for over a year! I have since taken my car to Greg for other services, he's great to work with, always gets me right in and is fair in his pricing and the time he takes. I just recommended him to a friend today. I love this place and I'm so grateful to have found them. read more

MENIFEE PLEASE DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE!!! If I could rate this place less than one star, I would. I normally take my car to Tri-star smog station, but they were busy so I didn't wanted to wait and decided to try this place. After waiting over 2 hours they came back with, YOUR CAR FAILED SMOG TEST...ECT....ECT. and here's what we can do for you to get your car to pass a smog test. It will cost $200 to do this test to find out the problem so we can fix it. An hour later, "Ok the test showed it coming from............ and it will cost you $200 plus more to do this and it's not guarantee that this will fix the problem....after a few minutes pause, I said ok. Thur far, it's over $400 including the 60-70 dollars smog test. Well the day when, cause they couldn't finish the job. On the following day, they found more problem and told me they found more problem this area........ and it will cost me $180 part and additional $150 for this. The cost now is close to $800. The owner of the shop came in later and I noticed 3 mechanic and him were talking about my car and laughing. The owner later walked into the front counter area looked at me and never even said hi or smile, like I'm not even there. Anyway, long story short....I told them to stop find more problems on my car and just fix the issues and pass my smog test so I can be on my way. What a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE IT WAS. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO DO SMOG AT THIS PLACE. That morning, 6 cars failed the smog test while I was waiting and every one of them were in the same boat as I was. They should not allowed a smog station to repair vehicles. If you failed they should tell you what it's that you fail and take the problem to a diff auto repair place to do the work. I SMELLED RIP-OFF ALL OVER THIS AUTO REPAIR/SMOG STATION.I will contact BBB and file a complaint with them in the near future. read more

We have used Advanced Auto Smog for years now and never had a problem. When our vehicle needed a smog cert. we called and asked them how much would it now cost. The gal in the office name Rachel (or Rachelle) said that their normal price is $59.95 but they automatically give $10.00 off that. I told her that we had been coming there for years and she said that since we have been long time customers she would give us another $10.00 off making the price $39.75. We had to drive across town to their place and drove right passed other smog stations including one I had a coupon for $49.95 so it seemed like a good deal. We did trust them. However when my husband got there and the smog test was done he had to pay $49.95. It seems that they have different prices depending on who you are and if they feel like honoring their word. I called them and they were not at all concerned about it. Too bad for me. Even though we have taken a number of vehicles to them in the past, we won't be going back there in the future. read more
