We recently moved into our current house in concord and have been working on our backyard. We had amended the soil before planting and applied mulch. Within a few weeks we had racoons visiting our garden and they were digging badly. We also spotted them on two nights. We got in touch with Joe on a Sunday. After asking another pest control company to help but failed to complete the job we called Advanced Animal Wildlife Control and man they saved the day. They removed some sloppy material installed by old company and set up a few traps in a fashion where they couldnt leave again from the attic unless its into the traps. By that evening we had four squirrels in the trap!!! I wasted some good money and a total of two weeks with previous company. AAWC got it done in one evening. No more noise! Very professional and prompt. They wrapped everything up to be certain I dont have this issue again in the future. If you need squirrel control these are your guys. My only complaint is they didn't clean out all of the rubble left behind but other than that service was amazing. Oh and they work well with your schedule if you're there or not. We have pigeons roosting on the roof of our new home and they're crapping everywhere. It's pretty terrible. I called this guy on a Saturday and scheduled an appointment for 11:30 a.m. on the following Wednesday. He said he would give me a courtesy reminder call on Tuesday or Wednesday morning. At 10:45 on Wednesday morning, I still had not received a call so I called him to confirm he was till coming. I got no answer and left a message. At 11:15, I got a call from him and he said that there was some raccoon disaster that was apparently more important than my pigeon crap disaster and he wouldn't be able to make it out to my house until Friday at noon. Because I'm desperate, I agreed to the new appointment time. On Thursday, I got a text from him confirming that he would be there for our appointment on Friday. I am writing this review at 3:20 p.m. on Friday. This dude never showed up. I called him and left a message. I texted him. He has not replied. At this point, the only excuse I can imagine for unprofessional behavior of this magnitude is that the raccoons have won. What a waste of my time. read more

I recently moved into my boyfriend's house in the Lafayette hills-- woodsy area. So you can imagine all of the wildlife here. We've been hearing scratching and flapping in our vaulted ceilings, plus chirping. We called joe for bird removal and he came out to do the surveying. He discovered vents broken open under our eaves. He removed the birds that were living in our attic first and then screened off the holes. There were other holes he noticed were open. He sealed all of them up too! I had the pleasure to meet Joe after calling his cmpany to help with our bat issue. He was very prompt and knew his stuff. We discovered bat guano on the group but could not figure out where it was coming from. Joe said he would not charge anything if we did not have bats. He was patient and when he arrived at our place and examined, he told us that the rats are most likely behind the gutter. It turns out that they were behind the gutter. It was hard for us to tell. I thought about hiring a contractor to replace the gutter, but Joe suggested that he can use expanding foam to fill in the void behind the gutter. We ended up doing that and saved lots of money. I'm getting ready for work early in the morning and hear such a loud noise in another room that I was afraid to open the door. To make a long story short, I thought they were raccoons, but when they came out from Advanced Animal Removal, the technician (whose name I don't remember but to whom I'm very grateful) said he didn't think it was raccoons, and thought it looked more like rodent activity. The poor brave soul went into the crawl space.....the hole of doom that you couldn't pay me a million dollars to visit, and blocked off places he thought rats could be getting in from. That SAME day, I got home, and my husband found a rat of apparently epic proportion. Voila! Noise gone, rat gone. Only reason I called him is he picked up the phone on odd time. But, it was bad experience. After he set up trap, I did not see one baby raccoon for many days. I asked him to check crawlspace day after day, but he did not go. In the end baby raccoon died and smell came from there. I had to call Critters Humane Animal Control from Emeriville to get dead animal. Things I find bad: 1) This chap is arrogant and unprofessional. He shows up 4-8 hours after promised. He does not apologize. 2) He does not return calls or emails in timely fashion. 3) He is more expensive than some others. read more

There's a reason rats are always the bad guys in kids movies. I may be a grown adult but there's nothing that makes me scream more like a girl than finding out there are RATS in my house. Mice I can deal with, give me peanut butter and a grocery store trap and blammo! But when we kept hearing noises late at night sounding like something was running on the pipes we couldn't crack what was going on until we started seeing the other signs. These guys came over and I soon found out my attack had a PROBLEM. We ended up having them take care of this fully for us and overall they did a good job of getting us cleared up, cleaned out and sealed up to prevent future critters making their way in. Extremely long overdue review. We had company coming into town on 4th of July weekend last year and we started smelling this horrible smell in the house. We just new it was something dead. We searched everywhere in the area the smell was coming from and we couldn't find anything. We called several different places. After our dog got sprayed twice from a skunk in the yard we figured it was time to get rid of the varment. Called Joe and he came right out, set a trap and told us to check it in the morning. Sure enough the cage was closed and Joe came out to get him! Yay! That is until we smelled another whiff from under the shed and called Joe again. He came out and set another trap and in the morning there was the mate of the first one!!! Glad Joe got him ( her ) in time before they had baby skunks!! warning.......do not use this company. Joe is very dishonest. He came out and serviced my house for a rat issue we were having and he said he put a total of seven traps in our attic and in the crawl space. He also said he rat proofed the outside of the house. he did not do anything, but take our $395. He was suppose to come back on the following Monday to remove the traps and put new traps. He never came back. I have tried calling him at least 15 times and have left multiple messages. I have called another company to finish the job. as they were doing their inspection, they informed me that not only did Joe NOT rat proof my house he did NOT put out any traps. Joe is a rat himself. I have notified the BBB and the Structural Pest Control Board. Update.....Just spoke to the Structural Pest Control Board and they have informed that Joe is NOT bonded or liscensed even though he says he is on his business card. read more

I will not use this company again. They were prompt but at first just threw some "fox" urine under the house to make the skunks leave. Didn't work. Charged me $295 for 30 days, BUT $125 to remove trapped skunk. He came, didn't call first, had all ready put trap in truck. Wouldn't let me see if there was actually a skunk in there. I had poked and lifted the trap a little. No sound and it was very light. I question whether they was a skunk in there. Then I find out he is going to euthanize "it". I am not happy. Plus he said I would have to hire a contractor to plug up the entrance spaces that the skunks had entered. I called another company, who didn't get back to me until later in the day and he would install a one way door and plug up all the entrances which wildlife removers are supposed to do. These people's ethics are questionable they want to do the least amount of work for a lot of money. Not happy at all. read more

I knew some animal was under my house one morning and after calling Contra Costa boards, I could only leave them messages and actually not sure they would come out here to help.. So, I found this company and got the quote on the phone and Joe came out confirmed it was an animal, he also noticed the animal was trying to get into the house - pulled a board loose, paw prints proved this to be true. It was not cheap 1st - cost to come, if animal caught in trap they provided, second fee but left another trap to see if any other animal was around. Matt came the 2nd and 3rd times, removed empty trap and a reasonable last cost I had him close entrance under porch which they guarantee no animal will remove. Closing the animal's entrance under the house,, is an added option - not part of the contract. Oh yes, it was a skunk caught the first overnight.. I think SHE was looking to make her nest in my crawl space. WORTH every penny - the alternative would have been evacuation from my house! read more

We have a bird (I think pigeons) problem on two of our backyard 2nd story windows . Bird poop . Quite a mess and health concern. I called and without seeing the full extent of the issue, Joe gave me a price range estimate over the phone. Joe was busy that day and so I couldn't get same day service but he was able to come the next day and installed bird spikes on three windows areas. It's nice because you can hardly notice them at all. I felt the price was reasonable (in fact, it was lower than a competitor who wanted to charge more for bird spiking just two windows).
