Came home from a trip to very bad smell. Suspected a dead animal. Called Joe, got a quick estimate. He came to my house the same day, found the problem in about 15 minutes, and remediated. Very pleased with Joe and will keep him on file for sure. read more

We recently moved into our current house in concord and have been working on our backyard. We had amended the soil before planting and applied mulch. Within a few weeks we had racoons visiting our garden and they were digging badly. We also spotted them on two nights. We got in touch with Joe on a Sunday. He confirmed racoon activity by looking at the pictures I sent and he promptly arrived on Monday to set traps. We trapped all three racoons Monday night. He promptly removed the trapped animals on Tuesday. He was also kind enough to extend our warranty for 3-4 months in case we get any more racoons. We have been lucky do far and haven't had any come around till now. read more

Joe did a fantastic job of catching 2 skunks that was on my property. He is very professional and courtesy. His prices are very reasonable with no hidden fees. Thank you Joe for your service. We will definitely use you again in the near future!!!! read more

After asking another pest control company to help but failed to complete the job we called Advanced Animal Wildlife Control and man they saved the day. They removed some sloppy material installed by old company and set up a few traps in a fashion where they couldnt leave again from the attic unless its into the traps. By that evening we had four squirrels in the trap!!! I wasted some good money and a total of two weeks with previous company. AAWC got it done in one evening. No more noise! Very professional and prompt. They wrapped everything up to be certain I dont have this issue again in the future. If you need squirrel control these are your guys. My only complaint is they didn't clean out all of the rubble left behind but other than that service was amazing. Oh and they work well with your schedule if you're there or not. Great price and responsive. I'd recommend their grade A service. read more

We have pigeons roosting on the roof of our new home and they're crapping everywhere. It's pretty terrible. I called this guy on a Saturday and scheduled an appointment for 11:30 a.m. on the following Wednesday. He said he would give me a courtesy reminder call on Tuesday or Wednesday morning. At 10:45 on Wednesday morning, I still had not received a call so I called him to confirm he was till coming. I got no answer and left a message. At 11:15, I got a call from him and he said that there was some raccoon disaster that was apparently more important than my pigeon crap disaster and he wouldn't be able to make it out to my house until Friday at noon. Because I'm desperate, I agreed to the new appointment time. On Thursday, I got a text from him confirming that he would be there for our appointment on Friday. I am writing this review at 3:20 p.m. on Friday. This dude never showed up. I called him and left a message. I texted him. He has not replied. At this point, the only excuse I can imagine for unprofessional behavior of this magnitude is that the raccoons have won. What a waste of my time. read more

I recently moved into my boyfriend's house in the Lafayette hills-- woodsy area. So you can imagine all of the wildlife here. We've been hearing scratching and flapping in our vaulted ceilings, plus chirping. We called joe for bird removal and he came out to do the surveying. He discovered vents broken open under our eaves. He removed the birds that were living in our attic first and then screened off the holes. There were other holes he noticed were open. He sealed all of them up too! We haven't heard anything since then. Very thorough animal removal service. He went the extra mile to survey all vents 2 stories high. Now I'm thinking about seeing about his raccoon removal services because they go through our flower beds and tomatoes!!! read more

Joe Cannon came to our rescue from a family of skunks that made their way under the deck and into a crawl space. Not pleasant for any of us. Joe humanely took care of the problem, most of which was creating barriers to returning under the house and leaving a single exit. One afternoon, we eventually saw the remaining family trek out the back view fence, which we promptly chicken-wired to prevent a return engagement. Joe is a great professional and provided a much needed resource, going the extra mile. He is also an artist. Check out the website he created. Thanks Joe! read more

I've used Advanced twice now and feel they needed a detailed and honest review. I dealt with Joe and he was awesome. Very professional and responsive. We had a mice problem and we set up some glue traps that I purchased from the market. I caught 5 of them within 2 days. I knew I had to get a professional. I called several places but Joe quoted me a fair price and was able to come the next morning. He set up traps and sealed holes that I never even noticed! He came back twice, once a week, before our mice problem was finally gone. I'm so happy I found them! If you are having any rodent or pesky mice problems -- like I did, I highly suggest Advanced Animal Removal. Ask for Joe and you won't be sorry! read more

We were lucky to have Joe work on our bird removal issue and was it a Godsend. Over the years we were pestered by pigeons on top of our roof. Joe was kind enough to provide a free estimate and a clear-cut removal/prevention plan of attack. He was very sincere and thoughtful in his approach. Joe ended up netting off two eaves and removed all nests. After, he did a clean up job that turned our bird area spotless! I would definitely use his services again. Super professional and the work done is super clean! So thankful for his great work ethics and thorough presentation. read more

I had the pleasure to meet Joe after calling his cmpany to help with our bat issue. He was very prompt and knew his stuff. We discovered bat guano on the group but could not figure out where it was coming from. Joe said he would not charge anything if we did not have bats. He was patient and when he arrived at our place and examined, he told us that the rats are most likely behind the gutter. It turns out that they were behind the gutter. It was hard for us to tell. I thought about hiring a contractor to replace the gutter, but Joe suggested that he can use expanding foam to fill in the void behind the gutter. We ended up doing that and saved lots of money. Overall experience was great. Highly recommended! read more

We had a skunk problem. Joe from AAR came out right away. Skunk gone in days. Fast and courteous service. I would highly recommend this local service. Reasonable rates too. read more

I'm getting ready for work early in the morning and hear such a loud noise in another room that I was afraid to open the door. To make a long story short, I thought they were raccoons, but when they came out from Advanced Animal Removal, the technician (whose name I don't remember but to whom I'm very grateful) said he didn't think it was raccoons, and thought it looked more like rodent activity. The poor brave soul went into the crawl space.....the hole of doom that you couldn't pay me a million dollars to visit, and blocked off places he thought rats could be getting in from. That SAME day, I got home, and my husband found a rat of apparently epic proportion. Voila! Noise gone, rat gone. Four stars are because they didn't show up when they said, but I highly recommend this service. read more

I set up an appointment with them to come out on Saturday at noon; And I swear that I saw them turn around in my driveway at about 2:00... When I attempted to call them to confirm, they were not accepting calls? I can appreciate a need to reschedule, but they could have given me a heads up. I did have plans that I canceled on to meet with them. read more

Only reason I called him is he picked up the phone on odd time. But, it was bad experience. After he set up trap, I did not see one baby raccoon for many days. I asked him to check crawlspace day after day, but he did not go. In the end baby raccoon died and smell came from there. I had to call Critters Humane Animal Control from Emeriville to get dead animal. Things I find bad: 1) This chap is arrogant and unprofessional. He shows up 4-8 hours after promised. He does not apologize. 2) He does not return calls or emails in timely fashion. 3) He is more expensive than some others. read more

There's a reason rats are always the bad guys in kids movies. I may be a grown adult but there's nothing that makes me scream more like a girl than finding out there are RATS in my house. Mice I can deal with, give me peanut butter and a grocery store trap and blammo! But when we kept hearing noises late at night sounding like something was running on the pipes we couldn't crack what was going on until we started seeing the other signs. These guys came over and I soon found out my attack had a PROBLEM. We ended up having them take care of this fully for us and overall they did a good job of getting us cleared up, cleaned out and sealed up to prevent future critters making their way in. The one issue was timeliness in coming to check up on the traps, a few times the time varied a bit but overall a good value for the service provided. read more

Joe was very helpful in removing a family of skunks under our back deck. He was communicative, thorough, professional, and efficient. He remedied the unpleasant situation in no time, and we haven't had critters since. We HIGHLY recommend Joe and Advanced Animal Removal! read more

Friendly, on time, quick, and professional. I cannot give AAWC a better rating! We had a dead critter in our front yard that we just couldn't find. Joe Cannon, a licensed & insured wildlife operator was first to respond to my phone message, explained the services, made an appointment for the same morning. Turned out it was a dead fawn that so blended into the ground cover that none of us could find it (but sure could smell it). Would I call them again -- HECK YES. (Just hoping I don't get another problem like this too soon). Takes credit cards via paypal. read more

Joe was on time, respectful of our home, polite, well spoken and efficient. He found the problem, the source of the problem and solved the problem. Five star service. I would highly recommend this professional for your pest control needs. read more

BEWARE. The owner gave a quote over the phone, showed up and asked for partial payment and did not come back to do the work. This company is not honest. read more

Extremely long overdue review. We had company coming into town on 4th of July weekend last year and we started smelling this horrible smell in the house. We just new it was something dead. We searched everywhere in the area the smell was coming from and we couldn't find anything. We called several different places. Joe was the only one to call us back and came out during the 4th of July weekend! Within 30 minutes Joe found a dead opossum under our house that was causing a horrible smell. I would call Advance Animal Removal back in a second if we ever have the same issue! read more

I called and Joe proceeded to kill several rats for us and reclaimed our laundry room; and also got our house protected. Felt really good about this service - only issue was initially scheduling - but i suspect because this is not for lack of effort - but because he is so busy. Thanks! read more

Joe was great! I highly recommend him for animal removal. He was prompt, communicative, professional and courteous.

One star because I had to give something. I left 4 different messages in 2 days due to a skunk that has taken up residence under my deck. NOT one call back, nada, nothing. read more

I would give this negative stars if I could. I call to get a pricing and the rude guy on the phone tells me the price, I hung up, and then he TEXTED ME, saying "that was rude, people charge more" LIKE WHAT IN THE WORLD? WHO TEXTS PEOPLE FOR REFUSING THEIR SERVICE? Pathetic, and obviously isn't a good business if they're going out of their way to text people who don't want to use them. read more

Talked to these folks once (Joe) and never got a call back to set an appointment. After two days of leaving voicemails I've moved on and found a BETTER company! #nothanks read more

After our dog got sprayed twice from a skunk in the yard we figured it was time to get rid of the varment. Called Joe and he came right out, set a trap and told us to check it in the morning. Sure enough the cage was closed and Joe came out to get him! Yay! That is until we smelled another whiff from under the shed and called Joe again. He came out and set another trap and in the morning there was the mate of the first one!!! Glad Joe got him ( her ) in time before they had baby skunks!! The only reason I gave them 4 stars was I thought they were somewhat expensive- charging a hefty sum for each critter! Our cost was $500 but in hindsight well worth it since we have no more stinkers in the yard! read more

So I'm visiting my in-laws for the holidays and hear they've been struggling with skunks for quite some time. It sux because I'm here now wreaking of skunk! I called around looking for a skunk removal service. I found this company who had good reviews. He came out and said there's a dead skunk under the home! It stank..... Bad! Lucky for us he does do dead animal removal. read more

The service was great!!! We had a issue with a skunk and the guy came out the same day and set traps. A couple days later, problem solved.

Earlier this week I spotted a skunk near my deck. I had noticed an entry point earlier but wasn't sure if it was skunk or opossum since I've seen both around the neighborhood. I called AAWC and received a call back the same morning. Joe was there the next day to do the inspection and set the trap. He's trapped 4 skunks in 4 days. He communicates well via text which is great for me since I'm not always available to take calls during the day. He is coming today to remove the 4th and not only is it Saturday, it's his birthday! read more

We were very happy we hired Joe and Advanced Animal Removal to help get rid of a raccoon that made our backyard his home and kept us from being able to let our dog outside. When I first called Joe, he took time to explain the process and was very patient as I asked him questions. He came out the next day to set a trap, and then we caught the raccoon 2 days later. Joe promptly came that same morning. We're more than satisfied with his services! read more

We had a raccoon entering the house to eat the cat food and tearing up the backyard looking for snacks. We called Joe. He came right over, set 2 traps and we caught the animal the first night. Joe was back first thing in the morning to take it away. All's peaceful at our home again! Thanks to Joe. read more

Can't say enough that has already been said. Definitely 5-STARS. He responded quickly, removed quickly, and eliminated the holes to the crawl space. Great to deal with and strongly recommend his services. read more

I called them on 10/9/18 and left message. Looking for help removing a dead animal under my house. No call back.

warning.......do not use this company. Joe is very dishonest. He came out and serviced my house for a rat issue we were having and he said he put a total of seven traps in our attic and in the crawl space. He also said he rat proofed the outside of the house. he did not do anything, but take our $395. He was suppose to come back on the following Monday to remove the traps and put new traps. He never came back. I have tried calling him at least 15 times and have left multiple messages. I have called another company to finish the job. as they were doing their inspection, they informed me that not only did Joe NOT rat proof my house he did NOT put out any traps. Joe is a rat himself. I have notified the BBB and the Structural Pest Control Board. Update.....Just spoke to the Structural Pest Control Board and they have informed that Joe is NOT bonded or liscensed even though he says he is on his business card. read more

I will not use this company again. They were prompt but at first just threw some "fox" urine under the house to make the skunks leave. Didn't work. Charged me $295 for 30 days, BUT $125 to remove trapped skunk. He came, didn't call first, had all ready put trap in truck. Wouldn't let me see if there was actually a skunk in there. I had poked and lifted the trap a little. No sound and it was very light. I question whether they was a skunk in there. Then I find out he is going to euthanize "it". I am not happy. Plus he said I would have to hire a contractor to plug up the entrance spaces that the skunks had entered. I called another company, who didn't get back to me until later in the day and he would install a one way door and plug up all the entrances which wildlife removers are supposed to do. These people's ethics are questionable they want to do the least amount of work for a lot of money. Not happy at all. read more

I had the pleasure of meeting Philip and Joe a couple months back when I had a pesky bird problem. For some reason, these birds kept nesting underneath a space near my roof. I could hear them flapping their wings constantly, moving in and out of the space and worst of all bird droppings were EVERYWHERE! Even though it was annoying, I didn't want to just kill them, so I searched for a company that humanly removes animals. I called animal wildlife and I got an estimate right over the phone. Throughout the entire process, Joe and Philip explained their plan of removal and was very professional. Their prices were more than reasonable and thanks to them I don't have that bird problem anymore!! If u want a job done right the first time with excellent and professional customer service, you should definitely call advanced animal wildlife! read more

Joe was great! He was responsive even on the weekends. He caught 4 skunks and 2 possums and picked up the animal quickly. He even kept the traps set up for several days until he was sure everything was caught. Thank you Joe!! Hope we don't have to use you again but we will recommend you to all our friends! read more

I knew some animal was under my house one morning and after calling Contra Costa boards, I could only leave them messages and actually not sure they would come out here to help.. So, I found this company and got the quote on the phone and Joe came out confirmed it was an animal, he also noticed the animal was trying to get into the house - pulled a board loose, paw prints proved this to be true. It was not cheap 1st - cost to come, if animal caught in trap they provided, second fee but left another trap to see if any other animal was around. Matt came the 2nd and 3rd times, removed empty trap and a reasonable last cost I had him close entrance under porch which they guarantee no animal will remove. Closing the animal's entrance under the house,, is an added option - not part of the contract. Oh yes, it was a skunk caught the first overnight.. I think SHE was looking to make her nest in my crawl space. WORTH every penny - the alternative would have been evacuation from my house! read more

We have a bird (I think pigeons) problem on two of our backyard 2nd story windows . Bird poop . Quite a mess and health concern. I called and without seeing the full extent of the issue, Joe gave me a price range estimate over the phone. Joe was busy that day and so I couldn't get same day service but he was able to come the next day and installed bird spikes on three windows areas. It's nice because you can hardly notice them at all. I felt the price was reasonable (in fact, it was lower than a competitor who wanted to charge more for bird spiking just two windows). Joe is a nice guy. Time will tell if the treatment works but so far I am pleased with the treatment. read more
