Despite what you are told at intake, you will get no more than 15 minutes a day to talk to your loved one and they are in a VERY public space with a ton of background noise that makes it difficult to communicate. You will also NOT have regular contact with their care team. They are concerned with the home environment the patient will return to but have very little compassion for the family and do not seem to have a grasp that life outside of the facility does not get put on hold. Know going in that despite what you are told, you will have little contact with your loved one, minimal updates about their progress and care, and might hear from their care team once over the course of 4wks. Being informed of this ahead of time might help others manage a difficult situation - especially if there are children involved. It would have been a much better experience for everyone if they had been clear on the realities of the expected communication from the start.

However they had him in & out & in & out over & over again & had to share everything with me first & I had to give my explicit consent every step of the way for him to be allowed in the rooms with me. They could see that I was not being abused but they kept pushing the issue again & again. That made him & I both very upset. I would recommend you come in for a pregnancy test & ultrasound if needed but no more, & come alone because the hassle is not worth it. I would also recommend you don't go by the due date they give you because chances are it will be incorrect.
