Shipped my tires here from TireRack since they're an approved installer with great reviews. Igor was pleasant to work with and was able to get my lowered car on the lift after his initial concerns, saving me an additional fee. Installation fees are very reasonable and based on this experience, I'd trust them to diagnose and repair any other issues that come up in the future with my MINI. Added bonus - Igor was a BMW/MINI technician so he knows european cars. read more

Thanks for fixing and painting my Lexus. Paint matches up 100% and looks amazing. Thanks again so much to Advance Auto for the amazing work! read more

I was lucky to find Advance Auto Repair and meet Arseniy. I service my car for 5 years there, no issues. They do not do extra unnecessary job and give good recommendations, for example, official dealer offered to replace oil pan, but in advance auto repair they said it's not required, the oil was dripping from the top cover. Once i did paint job in the Advance Auto Repair after a small accident. The quality of work and paint match was perfect! I also like reasonable price they charge me. read more

Advance Auto repair was referred to me by my mechanic. Everything was easy: Arseni (I hope I'm spelling his name correctly) was very professional, friendly (that always helps) and he explained to me what kind of fixing he was going to do on my car. He gave me an estimate which was exactly the amount I paid in the end so there was no bad surprise. He promised me my car by Wednesday night but they called me in the afternoon to tell me that my car was ready! So yes, I'm happy! read more

Absoluetly EXCELLENT work for a great price. I would recommend Advanced Auto replair to anyone.

I recently had my car damaged on a construction site by a cement truck. I was recommended advanced auto repair by a friend that was obviously in the know when it came to good body shops.i brought my car to Rob and Igor.they had a look and told me it was very fixable!i got my car back on the time frame we agreed and it looks absolutely fantastic ! I'm very detail oriented concerning my car and rob was more than happy to oblige me . He shares my perfectionist mind set . Any how I highly recommend this shop after seeing my car in all its former glory . Great shop read more

I took my car in and was given a receipt saying it would be ready at 5 pm. I only asked for a diagnostic. At 5 pm- I show up to get my car and no one is there. I call the number and was told by the manager "to pick up my car in the am." I explained that is NOT an option because I have to pick up my son from daycare. The manager tells me that "your car will be back in a hour" and hung up on me. He informs me "they have a legal right to test drive my car"- but he previously told me to pick it up in the am. Where is my car? I threatened law enforcement, and at 6pm- the owner delivers my car. My car was on half tank when I dropped it off and on empty when I picked it up. I was late to daycare and the owner said " there's no issue with my car, the diagnostic showed no codes"- then why was it gone???? BAD BUSINESS! read more

Had the worst experience. My car 96k miles and started to consume to much oil. Went to check if everything is okay. And wanted to change oil and tires as well. Arseniy(one of the guys there) said that to ship tire to them will take 2 days and Saturday in the evening they will try to finish. I called Saturday, Sunday, Monday. No response. Tuesday when my friend called them Arseniy told that got to accident and right the way called me back and said that he will call me back in the evening when they will finish. Wednesday - no response. I texted that I will come in the evening and will call police if the car is not there. He called back and said okay at 5pm. In the evening I was waiting 20 more minutes after 5 on the street for Arseniy to come down. As a result: I've got my car. They did not do any work AND I found opened bottle of wine on the back sits off my car on the way home! I hope that they did not take any pieces of my car. SO DISAPPOINTED! What did they do in my car?! read more

Rob and his team at Advance Auto did a phenomenal job on the project I gave them. He was able to finish my custom wing and give it a spectacular paint job. Moreover he did it quickly and for a fair price. Honestly for the work that was performed I would have expected to pay more. You can't go wrong going to Advance Auto, I highly recommend them! read more

This place is amazing! I was on a road trip and stopped in SF for a check engine light. They got the part ordered and installed in only one day. I wasn't even behind on the trip. Their customer service is stellar!! read more

Excellent customer service! I've an emergency with my BMW. Some plastic part of my BMW was touching the ground, and it was around 6pm. As you know, most auto repair shops are closed around 5pm and it's so hard to find one. I've called them and they asked me to come over. They have fixed my car and also fixed scratches on the car. They didn't charge me anything for fixing those scratches! So happy to find this place, definitely 5 stars read more

I haven't written a review on Yelp in like years but I feel so compelled to give kudos to the guys at Advance Auto Repair. They went above and beyond repairing my vehicle twice in a roll. Dennis the manager of the shop has been very transparent about the process and timeline from the very first phone call I made and keeping me posted with updates while my car is in their shop. With parts shortages and the amount of vehicles they have in the shop they even ordered parts for me before they received final approval on my claims from the insurance to save me as much time as possible. They really look out for their customers. Everyone I talked to is so cordial. When I first dropped off my car a staff member even helped me transfer my belongs to the rental vehicle. When I picked up my vehicle it literally looked new! They cleaned up my car from inside out and even fixed scratches on the side outside of my claim coverage as a courtesy. Their attention to details is impressive. They did a perfect job repairing the damaged area and even conducted a holistic exam on the overall maintenance status of my car. Unlike the dealerships that often times want to charge a hefty fees just to conduct diagnosis and make money off unnecessary services, these guys do it out of courtesy just to save me money on future maintenance. I can't be more pleased when I get my car back from them and really glad I've found my go to bodyshop in the city. Unlike some bodyshops in the city, they are so flexible with drop ins. When accidents happen in very inconvenient times this is especially important. Give these guys a call and you won't find a better deal elsewhere! read more

Anyone with an out of warranty BMW should experience the knowledge, value and integrity of this repair shop. I came across Advance Auto only because I'd ordered tires from the Tire Rack and had to pick an installation shop. When I entered the office, I noticed all the BMW posters. The owner, Igor Stolper, told me he was a BMW certified mechanic and had worked at the dealership for several years before opening his own business. This guy really knows what he's doing, he is super polite and respectful, and honest about what needs to be done. I was a loyal customer of Phaedrus, until I discovered Advance Auto. My '97 BMW is in great shape and I couldn't be happier with my mechanic. read more

Places where a woman feels most vulnerable: 1. The gynecologist's office 2. A construction site during lunch break (or any time of the day, really) 3. The auto mechanic repair shop Luckily, for those of us women (and men) who are mechanically challenged, Igor and Jennifer of Advance Auto Repair are there to save the day. They often take my car the morning I drive it in, they're honest, and the price is right. That's right ladies, no more worrying about being told your entire engine needs to be replaced, when it's just a dead spark plug. They're great! read more

I have Audi S4 2001. I have had this car for about a year and I didn't make right purchase because I needed to make lots of repairs on this eventually. here is what I had done during my car ownership: 1)Timing belt 2)Transmission 3)Lots lots of diagnostics(Some check engine light, etc.) 4)Body work(Scratches, serious damage) 5)Oil changes I don't remember everything, but I am glad I know such mechanic as Arseniy, and I can say that if I need help with my car I can call and even ask question what should I do - I will get that service. I had lots of issues with my car and body damages that I made myself. I'm tech guy and I made lots of research before choosing any shop on prices/time delivery. I still do it before calling this shop in order to catch something better. But so far I like this shop/service. Hopefully, they will keep their good work, prompt service and affordable pricing. read more

Ordered tires through tirerack and had them install the tires. Also heard some strange clunking noise from the car. They didn't charge anything to look into it and even double checked it to see if they could diagnose the issue. Overall, great service. read more

Picture it: A Saturday night of a long holiday weekend, heading into the city, a girl in a mini cooper. Sputter, sputter, lunge shake, rattle, roll. Panic. Park it in the city. Leave for forty eight hours, because businesses are closed on Sundays and Holiday Mondays. Ride my bike. Do some yelp research. Call Igor. Says yes, bring it in. Twenty four hours and several informative phone calls later, minicooper has new spark plugs, and girl is happily on her way. Seriously the least unpleasant outcome of all possible diagnoses. I HIGHLY recommend this business!!! Especially for gals who have sadly become accustomed to garages being dens of condescension sleaze fests. Igor is a gentleman!!!!!!! And the prices are reasonable! THANKS IGOR!!! read more

I went to this shop for new tires and an alignment. Igor is great. These guys are incredibly knowledgeable, honest, and friendly. Go here and trust them with your car. Arsenii and Igor are the best !!! I had several problems with my car and they were able to help me and put me back on the road without hassle within couple days. These guys are honest and know their trade. Although the location of their shop is not in the best part of town, it has its advantages. I was able to bring my car at 10:45pm on Saturday and leave it there because the shop shares the building with a parking lot which is opened until midnight So here is a distribution of my stars: 1 - Star for their professionalism 2 - Star for friendliness and great piece of advice 3.- quick and inexpensive service 4- proper follow up 5 - good quality work . Keep it up!!! Hopefully I wont be back - i don't want my car to break down again( I can change oil myself)_ By the way if you need wheels while your car is in the shop, they might be able to help you to rent a car from City Rental for discounted prices read more

I've been friends with Rob for a few years now and when my car was in a front end collision I looked no further into taking it to him. AAR did a outstanding job on repairing the front end of my 2017 Mustang. There attention to detail is like no other, can't even tell that anything ever happened, all the parts were oem through Ford. Rob kept me updated throughout the entire process after having the car towed to his shop, he even washed it and delivered it to me. Hasn't been my first time having work done from Rob, and definitely won't be my last. read more

These guys are awesome! This was my 3rd visit over 2 years and I could not be happier! Last visit was for a clutch change for my Evo. Arseniy went out of his way to make sure I got the right clutch for my driving style, which I ordered on Amazon and got delivered to the shop. I got my car back very quickly, but because of late Amazon delivery, Arseniy made sure to estimate the time and let me know the car won't be ready for the weekend far ahead of time (so that I get a rental). I got my car back in pristine condition. He stayed late and waited for me to pick it up after work (2 hrs after their closing time) and threw in a car wash + detail. Exceptional service! read more

Igor is accurate and very fair in his pricing. And I've objectively tested this: I bought an SUV on Craigslist and took it to a nearby car mechanic to have it inspected before I purchased it. The guy found a few things wrong with it and quoted me a price for repairs. After I bought the car, I took it to Igor at Advance Auto Repair. I didn't tell him about the prior inspection. He found the exact same things wrong with it and gave me a repair quote -- only it was a few hundred less than my prior quote! I was delighted. Then my car got hit by a drunk driver after I'd had it less than a year. So I bought another used SUV on Craigslist. I again had it inspected (this time by the Honda dealership). When I brought it to Igor for service, he identified exactly the same issues that the Honda dealership found, but charged me hundreds less. After these two awesome experiences, I've taken my car to Igor for all of my repairs and maintenance. He is professional, fast, and trustworthy. He never promises something he can't deliver. I trust him and I wouldn't take my car anywhere else in SF. read more

This review is a bit late, but I definitely have to praise this shop. I took in my car for some advice and tips on a few issues on my 2008 BMW. I was told by Tonys auto repair in San Bruno that my 03 MINI needed a new transmission, for 8 thousand dollars. When I came by to pay the $ 160 bill for their five minutes of labour the receptionist would not let me speak with the tech who diagnosed my car. If I had I would have at least found out that he never actually looked at the trans, but based his info on a two minute road test, and check engine light code. I found Igor later that day when I was attempting to get the information online that they could not provide at Tony's about MINI's, and their transmission issues.I originally called Igor, because I found out that he knows how to rebuild a MINI CVT , something that everyone else just replaces for a higher price .Even on the phone Igor was very kind, and took the time to explain what he could do, and was even able to give me a rough estimate on what a transmission rebuild may cost, and how long it could take.. When I took my MINI in I was positive that it was the tranmission, because that was what I had already been told at Tony's, so that was the info that I passed on to Igor. I was relieved when he called me the next day to tell me that while the problem was transmission related, my trans was OK, and did not need to be replaced. To make a long story short the two repairs I needed ended up being a little over $1200. Igor is a very honest person, he could have easily sold me on a trans rebuild, and I would have never known the difference, but that is clearly not his style.. This is the place to go If you drive a MINI that is no longer under warranty . Igor really does know his MINI's, and his prices are very fair. I feel that he put far more effort in to making sure that my car was diagnosed, and fixed correctly than any other place I have attempted to go to.I really admire the way this place does business. It is great to see that honest, and knowlegable auto repair really does exist. PS this message is for the receptionist at Tony's who suggested I sell my beloved MINi to a junk yard for parts. (That was just cold :( ) read more

My 2002 Mini Cooper suffered an untimely end after CVT failure. The first shop I took it to quoted me $6K for a new one. Way more than the car could even be sold for at that point. Luckily, the shop sent me to Advance Auto Repair, where Igor quoted me about 1/2 that to repair it. Igor was patient while i sorted out the possibilities, for which I am grateful. In the end, I decided to sell it to a salvage yard. Igor boxed up my things from my car and set it aside until I was able to get back to retrieve it. Honest shop, honest people. Highly recommended. read more

Wow, that place is awesome!!! I found them through a friend on Yelp, and I can say that I've been really really satisfied with their service and work, to say the least! Arseni is the guy who takes care of everything. He is very nice, polite and professional. I brought my car in to get my doors painted. Someone key scratched my car on both driver and passenger door. The work involved wasn't easy, but they did it perfectly. The paint matches perfectly the rest of the car. You can't even see it has ever been scratched. Arseni even gave me a ride back home because I didn't want to rent a car. Tell me about which other garage would do that??!! Anyways, I hope I've told you enough to at least try this place the next time you want some great service at really great prices read more

Honest work, fast turnaround. Great place to get alignments, too. When I don't have time to work on my stuff, I drop off my cars, they do it, they do it right and they do it fast. Great for the skills - they pull off everything I throw at them. I trust them to bring them my gf's car, versus working on it myself. read more

I came here for a 90K service since I work around the corner & they quoted the lowest price. But I feel like they just went online to do a standardized testing. 90K is a major service, but all I got was an oil & air filter change for $285! Sure he topped the fluids & put air in my tires, but I felt like it needed more. Igor, the owner can come as a rude guy, but he's actually nice. Customer service in this place is great! read more

I've gone here twice for some routine repairs and maintenance, and I find them very honest and prompt. I came here orignally because of (then) 2 positive yelp reviews and their ability to take in my car quickly. Of course, more positive reviews might change that situation since a couple of places I tried calling the first time based on yelp here were completely booked up. The woman who ran the counter at a place I used to go (Auto Motion) made the jump over here when that owner sold her business. She was on vacation the first time I visited this place, so I was surprised at how familiar she seemed on the phone when I called to come in the 2nd time. I liked the fact at Auto Motion, she seemed to enjoy the coordination efforts her job required, and it seems fitting she found a new home here. I hope this place keeps my car running well for a long time to come. read more

I ordered tires from TireRack.com to be installed at Advance auto repair. The next day after the instillation my tires were completely flat. I had to go back to them three times because the tires kept losing air every time they "fixed" it. They are unknowledgeable, unprofessional and rude. I had to pay extra for them to "fix" what they broken in the first place and even after all that I ended up re-fixing their fix at a different place that actually knows what they were doing. Save your money, time and most importantly your nerves and go to any tire shop but here. read more

As comfortable as I should be around the auto repair world (my family has a repair shop in another town), I have been hesitant to go anywhere "new" if it wasn't necessary. I'm a chick and it's difficult to be taken seriously in these kinds of places. It sucks. Well two weeks ago, I pulled into my garage, turned off my car, and had something break and spew gallons of coolant on the garage floor. I yelped for a nearby repair shop- Advance Auto came up with some pretty good reviews, and I kept my fingers crossed as the tow truck hauled me and the 323 to 16th and bryant the next morning. As my car was coming off the truck, I looked into the shop and saw a well-kept place, parts delivery, plus a few other BMWs and busy people- all good clues that this shop had decent business. I was greeted by the mechanic (Igor, I think) who is the NICEST mechanic I've ever met. He got all of my info, we shared a couple stories, and I was off to BART. He called me over the course of the repair work, making sure I understood the diagnosis and the work and estimated all the costs (needed a new coolant reservoir, sensor, etc). The estimated total cost was accurate in the end and very reasonable. I *heart* Advance Auto. read more

I have to agree, these guys are great. Over the course of owning my 2004 VW R32 I've had several sets of tires put on, a paint job done (after someone tried to make off with my VW emblem) and various alignments and tune-ups. They are honest, fair and super helpful (including sending back a set of wheels for me that didn't fit my car). Igor and Jen get big kudos from me. read more

Rob did amazing work on my 2013 Tesla! I was referred by a good friend of mine because Rob had experience with Tesla's. He handled the insurance claim, was prompt at returning texts, and met the due date he promised. Rob not only fixed the trunk my husband dented from backing into the garage but fixed all the other minor body work needed and repainted my dull hood so that it it shined like new. Thought I needed a starter so I went to these guys based on yelp reviews. The owner drove me to my car to see if it could be jumped. When we got there he figured out (in about ten seconds) that my battery connection was loose. Fixed it with his hands and then had me drive to the shop where he then tightened it. I will be taking my car back whenever I need anything done. Amazing service, best I've ever had in San Francisco. Overall experience was very good for 1st time customer. read more

I did the drop ship on a set of tires from Tire Rack to this place, which ended up being super fast. I placed my order with Tire Rack on Friday, and my tires arrived Monday. It makes no sense that a one day ship on four tires can cost $40, but retailers charge $10 to ship a pair of pants UPS ground in 7-10 days. Whatever. This shop called me when my tires arrived and I let them know I'd show up at opening time the next morning. I dropped my car off at 830am, went for a bagel and coffee across the street, and came back an hour later. The car hadn't been touched yet, but they started working on it as soon as I came back. I was out by 1015 and on my way to work. Not as slow as Wheel Works where I usually get tires, but not as prompt as I'd hoped by being the first customer to show up in the morning. The price is right and convenience high. read more
