Bought a battery from Advanced Auto parts and paid 260 for the battery. Than paid another 3.00 for a battery fee. Got my core return of 22.00 than they took 22.00 back and called it a core charge for the new battery. Very deceptive pricing. I understand the 3.00 hidden government tax for a battery disposal but paying for a core of a new that is in your car is B.S. Also asked if he would put the jumper cables that were on the cart where my new battery was sitting and attach it to the cables on the car so I would not have to reprogram my car. He said he couldn't do that. Just lazy I guess. He also gave me the impression he didn't want to change the battery until I told him the web site states free battery change. read more

This review is about the customer service and not about the parts. They don't manufacture the parts so it wouldn't be fair to rate the parts. So, I've been going to this location for years and the people working there have always been helpful in locating parts, offering repair advice, and letting you know about offers to save a few bucks. I was looking for brake pads. Advance's online site said to call the store to see if they had them in stock. So I called this store, and was told yes, they were here. I went to order and pay for them online for pickup at the store, and the website wouldn't let me do so, saying the item wasn't available. I called this store again to make sure they had it, and they said yes, the problem is the web site, so call them. So I call the web site number. They put me on hold for 5 min, then come back and say the store doesn't have the part. So I had to order it from a different store. I would have been fine with this situation if right from the start I had been told the part wasn't in stock at this store. But to be told twice it was, and waste time calling the main Advance HQ only to find it wasn't in stock, well that just stinks. read more

So Charnae went above and beyond the call of duty to assist with changing our dead car battery. I'm only giving this rating four out of five stars because my husband overheard her co worker Moses stating "I don't feel like doing anything extra today". However, Charnae, not only successfully changed our battery but then completed a courtesy service of checking the alternator and starter. Rebate fraud. Purchased a/c pro refrigerant on 7/19/2018. Came with a $15 dollar rebate printed right on the second receipt. Did the online rebate submission. A week later, the rebate submission was declined. I had to call to find out why my form was declined. The lady said that her record shows that the purchased item was returned a week later. I already used the refrigerant, how could i return it for a refund? Its an empty can. So, be warn, do not count on your rebates. read more

This place was recommended by a neighbor when my battery wouldn't start. My experience here was amazing. There is a female there who really impressed me and knows her stuff. She helped in every way possible and educated me even on my own car with future things I can do. They have great discount prices online that I bought right then and there and they gave it to me in the store. They had the parts I needed so they get 3 stars. Terrible customer service from "Steve" he mumbled under his breath and seemed like he'd rather be doing anything else in the world. I needed a specific 02 sensor and had to call the Mechanic back to get the answer to a question that seemed unnecessary. My mechanic immediately said "that guy doesn't know what he's talking about the 02 can only be" that one thing... Then when I gave him the answer he needed he wanted me to call the mechanic again for something else when he coulda told me that from jump. I just bought both parts to return the unused later, but if I'd been short on cash or in a jam that'd be a much larger issue. Maybe this was just a bad morning after a memorial day holiday for this guy but i can only review my experience.... Allyson was much more helpful for my return read more

I cant imagine what the low ratings were for at this shop. I think they do an admirable job. I mainly used to come here when my workplace was in Springfield when I needed new windshield wipers because the staff will install them with your purchase. I ordered a battery online, with pickup at this store. The order was there, waiting for me, no problem. I saw my order was there, Hunter walked over, picked up the already charged battery, and installed it in my vehicle. What a great job he did! The free installation is why I came to Advance Auto Parts, Hunter is the reason I plan to return. I was being helped by Hunter, who struggled with a battery where the bolts had been zealously overtightened and without standard sized nuts. He finally finagled a way to get the bolts loose and finally got the terminals free. He used a great battery cleaner, I had bought a terminal protector which he put on the terminals and cinched the entire works down, with a purely professional and friendly attitude. Corporate Advance Auto Parts, Hunter deserves a raise, a promotion and I urge you to keep an eye on him, he is going to be a great corporate executive someday. I visit this store twice today. On the first visit, I buy a jumper cable. I also ask the staff if they have any batteries for my vehicle. I explicitly ask them if they would change the battery for my vehicle(I give them the model, make, and year). The staff told me "yes, they have the battery in stock, and will change for me." So I walk home, jumpstart my car, bring the car to the store. After I pay for the battery, The staff started working on replacing the battery. After removing one bolt, the same staff who promised me that "We definitely replace the battery for me" told me: "sorry I don't want to be responsible for breaking anything.." And the staff recommend I go to a mechanic or do it myself... lol!!! I being using advanced auto parts for battery replacement service for the last 8 years for this same vehicle( at different locations), but this is the first time I hear this. So I walk back into the store try to ask someone else for help... Then the other staff told me "well we have a corporate policy that we don't do battery replacement for your vehicle"..... wow, no integrity.....At the end of the day, I return the battery and drive to another advanced auto parts store at Blacklick Shopping Center. They swap out the battery for me within 5 mins... The only reason I give the location 2 star: the manager gives me a full cash refund including the tips I paid. lol read more

Usually a good store but recently haven't felt the same as it used to be. Went to ask about a wire but no one helped at all they all stood at the register talking about the race they had on their way to work that morning. I went to the grocery store next to Advanced to get food, came out and my car was totally dead. I noticed the Advanced next store...it was 8:45pm & they close at 9pm...I hate to be that guy but it happens to us all, anticipating a horrible experience due to my timing I was 100% wrong. Rosen was the man who assisted me and he was very understanding and kinda funny. He made the whole situation not a big deal even though we all didn't leave the store until almost 10pm he was a professional and courteous. Got the job done with zero complaining and even took the time to speak to a man walking by asking me questions about what battery is the best now a days. Advanced Auto is lucky to have an employee like him. Hell, I even tried to give him a cash tip for his trouble, he said, "no need sir, this is just what I do. Thank you for buying a battery at Advanced." Then he told me about my warranty!! I read that others have complained about lack of inventory...it's not true, that place is stocked full of goodies. Those folks don't understand how retail works, sometimes the left hand doesn't know what the right hand has especially from online supplies and on hand supplies in store.
