Automotive Specialists: "You're gonna have to bring it in for us to give you a quote" I bring in my car, thinking it was going to be a 5 minute thing - throw it on the lift see how bad the struts are. They say "well let you know" Take a whole 34 hours to get my "quote" They tell me a dozen other things "wrong" with the car, then give me a "quote" of $3250. Mark up the price of parts by about 3x. I say NO, then they tell me that the inspection will cost $150 AT NO POINT DID THEY COMMUNICATE THEY WERE DOING AN INSPECTION AND IT WOULD COST ME AN ENTIRE DAY OF PAY AVOID THESE SCAMMERS Not to mention they're literally giving gift cards away if you give them good reviews.

My appointment was for 1pm. My car wasn't moved from where I parked it until 1:25. I thought once they had my car in the garage and had a look at it that they would come out to the waiting room to give me my options. Instead, they installed a $254 battery; they thought this was ok for a 20yo car. There was no communication with me regarding anything until 2:45 when Brian came to the waiting room to inform me of $2000 worth of work that my car needed, which included $761 for 2 rear struts. I never asked for a full car inspection. I thought I would not be able to leave, but I was informed the battery was not yet installed. I didn't get out of there until 4 pm. Once I arrived home I took a closer look at my receipt and saw that I was billed $85 for a "charging system test" which I did not ask for, nor was it necessary. I then looked under the hood and saw that even though they had my car for 3 hours, they couldn't take a minute to do a courtesy top-off to the power steering fluid and brake fluid, but instead left them at below the low mark. The AAA battery they installed had a black date sticker of 6/24; a one-year old battery.

It was the most laid back transaction we have ever done. Cut to a few weeks later right before a big trip we planned with a campsite on the water, we had issues with the boat that were no fault of the Dealer's. Emily in Service was amazing and they got me in right away and when they couldn't fix it immediately, they offered me to take their demo boat to not ruin the trip. THIS is customer service and that is how you treat a customer. Somewhere many moons ago I was a TFT customer at another location in the Fox Valley, and while doing some research for a new topper last December I am pleased say that Matt really helped me out. I actually ordered my new Ranch topper without even seeing a display model. Matt has tremendous product knowledge and over a decade of experience and I really appreciated him steering me straight. He is able to share the little "do's and don'ts" in accessories and helped qualify the small differences that I will and will not notice while also helping me get the most mileage out of my dollar ( no pun intended). The service didn't stop there....after my topper was installed in February and after the snow melted I found out I had a bit of water intrusion. I know that no topper is "waterproof or water tight" however there was more than I had experienced with previous vehicles. I gave Matt a call back (now months after purchase) and he told me to bring the truck up and they would troubleshoot and see what they could do. I was pleasantly surprised to see a business stand behind the sale, even 6+ months later. Not as common as it used to be....in any event I'll spare the details but they troubleshot the problem and the topper is performing better. What was also nice, is that Matt and team were very helpful with logistics when our truck had to stay up there a bit longer than we had planned and couldn't pick it up right away. My wife couldn't say enough great things about how nice everyone was to her at the store and that Matt saw her pull in and came out to greet her. That was a huge help with our 2 kids in tow!!! We ended up purchasing some step rails for the kiddos as well and once again Matt's input was helpful. Sight unseen one more time and they looked great on the truck. In total, about 2 weeks of work on the rig in the shop doing MAJOR upfits. Just an absolutely awesome experience with an expert team all around. My lead on the project was Matt, the assistant manager. He's a good, knowledgeable guy who digs all things trucks. Johnny the mechanic knows his stuff like a master. I threw lots of stuff at both of them and they figured it all out. The rest of the team helped out and is equally solid. Bottom line, these guys will take expert care of your rig. Also...not a single item of concern on pricing EVER. Always SUPER fair.
