Worst experience ever. I went in with a simple flat tire and they noticed my Illinois license plate and told me they could fix my tire a week from this Friday and literally couldn't make me feel any worse. I am writing this review for two reasons: 1. To relate a very positive, surprising level of satisfaction with customer service and, 2. To ask readers of reviews to ask themselves if some of these "bad reviews" pass the smell test. My recent experience with Cliff's was due to a situation in a restaurant parking lot, across the street, where I ran over a large ball of industrial plastic--which wrapped around the drive axle and stretched the nearby shift cable to the point of breaking. Dead in the water. 1115 AM, cannot be driven. I know Cliff's is down the road--can see it--and call. I describe my weird situation to Lisa, who tells me they close in 45 mins because it is Saturday, gives me the name of a tow service--also excellent, 1051 Towing--who accepts AAA. I get the car there, up on the lift, where it takes 15 mins to get this plastic cut off using various tools. They show me the sheared shift cable needs to be replaced and possibly the attachment to steering column. I live in Chicago suburbs and need to get back to nearby Green Lake. It is past quitting time and Norm drives the FOUR of us 15 mins back to Green Lake because there is no taxi or Uber/Lyft service. We go home to Chicago and I call back during the week to find that Lisa has called multiple parts sources, including Honda dealer in Milwaukee for the shift cable. She also found the shift column part used--half price--that someone has gone to pick up 45 mins away. Came back next week to pick up the car, which they put inside so I wouldn't have to clean the snow off of it. Price was $100 less than I expected. I am not guaranteeing that you will have this team at Cliff's give you the tow truck number, stay past quitting time on the weekend, drive you home, call all over creation to find parts, move your car out of the snow and fix your car for less than the estimate--all while cracking jokes and exhibiting overall good humor. The alternator went out on my Subaru. Took it into Cliffs. The service is fast and professional, but boy do you pay for parts! Got charged $190 for a replacement alternator. Labor price was affordable, and time to install was as expected. I could have told them no way, and did the work myself but was in a hurry. Still, I can buy the same alternator from Rock Auto or any of the other online sites for $90. So they charged me over 100% markup on retail price. Next time I will do the work myself. read more

I've come in to get multiple tires fixed on my Tahoe & a Chrysler. The guys working there are nice & they're honest. They'd pop in the waiting room to tell me about how long it would be, or even what they were doing. I don't remember exactly what happened, but basically, the fix job didn't hold on one of the tires. I gave them a call, they had me in right away, it didn't take very long at all & they didn't charge me a thing. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. $800+ for time chain repair (not replacement). Several days after the date it was to be done we are treated rudely when calling to check on it. They also "forgot to connect a hose" so the temp gauge shot thru the roof after driving it 3 miles from the shop. The issues and noises still not repaired, and after the poor work and customer service, I'd rather pay another $800 to someone else. Wouldn't let them put wiper wash in my car. Wish I would have asked around before we went, the horror stories from other Ripon residents are everywhere now that I've started asking. read more

I left Milwaukee to go to Door county with my boat and stopt to air up a couple the tires and found they were cupped and dry rotted. We googled a couple places and all were closed or did not have tires needed. We waited 10 minutes for west side to open and they put us to the head of the line when they herd we had a short fishing trip we were going to. Great service and great price. read more
