In terms of merchandise, this Advance Discount Auto Parts is no different than the other stores peppered around Gainesville. I tend to come to this one most often because I've found the staff to be consistently friendly and helpful.
I first started coming here when my old car was in the process of giving up the ghost. There was something screwy with it and the batteries never seemed to last. The warranties that came with the batteries purchased here helped me re-coup the cost of some of the expense of the batteries. Their warranties are set up to credit you a certain percentage of the cost of the battery if it dies before a certain amount of allotted time.
I also take my cars here when engine warning lights pop on. They have one of those spiffy devices that will tell you the error code and possible problem. This has helped me diagnose problems without having to take it to a shop first.
Our two cars have needed a lot of work done to them recently and I've been trying to learn how to do some of the repairs myself. Since I'm not mechanically inclined, I imagine I'd be a frustrating person to deal with, but I never leave feeling like an idiot. If something needs to be explained the staff takes the time to explain directions/tips in a way that makes sense and isn't rushed.
