"I'm aware that my last review of this particular Jiffy Lube location was disastrous - to say the least. But today, the staff was prompt, proactive and courteous! Kudos to whomever made the changes here." The above review listed in quotations, would been my review, when I visited this location again. However, my second visit was even worse. After having my vehicle in the bay for 30 minutes, I was informed that that my oil change couldn't be completed. The reason given was..."Our suction apparatus isn't working and we no longer drain oil from underneath vehicles." The technicians then removed the filters they'd preemptively installed. I was told to go to a third location - the first location I went to was on Main Street, and told me their computers were down. I found this excuse a bit strange, because two other vehicles, that arrived after mine were being serviced. As a result, I had to go to a third location on Archer Road. However, during my travel to the third location, I heard an extremely loud noise coming from my engine. When I arrived at the Archer Road location, technician discovered that the technician(s) at the prior location on 13th Street had left their tools on my engine - hence the loud noises I'd heard prior. Then the Steve, the manager of the Archer Road store informed me that the 13th Street store had stripped my oil pan bolt, that's why they couldn't change my oil. Because of this, I had to purchase another bolt and have it delivered by an auto parts store and it took approximately an hour to arrive - while I'm waiting in the Jiffy Lube bay. When it was all said and done, I'd paid nearly $95 for the oil change. The next morning, I was traveling to Jacksonville to attend a Jaguar game, only to be flagged down by another traveler, warning me that my vehicle was smoking really bad. I pulled over, because my engine light indicated "Engine Overheating". Apparently, the tools left in my engine snapped my cooling housing line from its base. I had to get towed to the nearest repair shop in Jacksonville, at a cost of $175.00 and have my car repaired and engine washed at a cost of $340.00. Not to mention I couldn't attend the football game, wasting a $120 ticket. I've reached out to the store manager and he's emailed my receipts to the owner, but after repeated tries, no one has gotten back with me. I hope the owners see this and reply. read more

I went to the jiffy lube website to confirm that this location was still open. It was and the location listing offered a $15 off coupon. I sent it to my email and then headed to the store to get the oil change. I waited in the lobby and got the oil changed. Mike helped me. When I went to pay I mentioned I got a coupon and showed him the bar code to scan it. The coupon specifically said it expires that day. Like a same day promotion. Made sense, as I had just clicked the site that offered me the coupon. Mike was very rude and unhelpful. Tried to make it seem like he was incapable of honoring that or any discount code. First he tried to say his hands were tied like corporate wouldn't let him. Then he said he had a lot of bosses. Then he said this was a franchise. Then he said he didn't know who owns it. Then he said he only works for one guy. Said he was the assistant manager himself. I asked for his business card and he gave me one that said Troy Moorehead as the General Manager, but the only contact info is the store's general information. So no help or support there, as Mike found it funny to not be helpful. I've been going to jiffy lube for twenty years and I've never had such rude or unhelpful service ever. Currently looking for the Troy Moorehead to see if the awful leadership is just Mike or him too. Be warned: the people here are closer to lazy fast food workers than people who have any desire to help serve customers. read more

My broke a$$ came here on a Saturday afternoon not planning on having my oil changed much less carrying no more than $24 in small bills and a ton of spare change. When all of a sudden my oil light started blinking (knowing full well that I was so overdue for an oil change), I knew I had to get my car in fast. The fine staff here at this Jiffy Lube location totally took care of me. At first I was offered their special service for around $47 with tax. I expressed to Brandon, the service manager, that I just didn't have the money for that particular option at the moment. With no judgement felt, he and his technicians were able to get me in and out in about 20 minutes (two ppl were in front of me) and at a much lower rate. And although I didn't choose to get the bells and whistles in regards to service options this location offered due to my immediate lack of finances that time around, I felt confident that my car would get me (& my mom) back to Jacksonville safely... and that, to me, is priceless. Not even sure how this place is even open. They put old oil in my truck and underneath looked like they sprayed oil all over. Backed in on my new driveway and in a matter of 30 minutes my clean new driveway had oil spots all over it. I will never trust them with my truck. read more

I've been taking my car here consistently for the past 2 years as I live a few blocks away. Every time, everyone has been super nice, polite, and helpful. Yes, they try to upsell you on the better oil change and things like that, but that's their job. They've always honored my expired coupons though, which they don't have to do. I just took my car there to get topped off in between oil changes, and they checked my transmission fluid, oil, wiper fluid, and power steering fluid. They topped off where it was needed for free and were super nice about it. I also have a broken brake light and asked them how to change it myself. They told me it was much cheaper to just go to auto zone and do it myself, so I appreciated that! Lastly, on another time I was there, I had my dog with me. They're dog friendly and let him hang out inside with me while waiting on my oil change. There's also a Dunkin Donuts next door if you need a snack, but the Jiffy Lube provides free coffee inside. Got tired of being screwed by local Honda dealer and went to Jiffy Lube. Professional and quick.

I bought a battery under a 5-year warranty from this Jiffy Lube because they said that my battery was testing low. The battery that they sold me was bad though and testing very poorly within months. So, they removed my battery that was testing low, but worked with one that is bad. I was doing work in south Florida for a while and finally, when able to return the battery a couple of years later (still within warranty mind you), the mechanic working on my car told me that they would gladly replace it but to bring it back the following day as he was not authorized to give out a replacement battery. When I arrived the following day, some rather disrespectful guy named Fred, who is apparently a manager at this location, told me unapologetically and with an air of "we don't need your service here and couldn't care less about your problems" that there was no way he was giving me a replacement battery because they no longer carried the brand of battery that they installed with a 5-year warranty. When I asked how they could sell me a bad battery under warranty and not stand behind it, he replied sarcastically and dismissively, "have a nice day". He seemed to act like as though Jiffy Lube had no interest in my business whatsoever, from the get-go. I will be taking my business elsewhere and strongly advocating for my friends to do the same. Do yourself a favor and avoid this business. Note to Yelp: I am not promoting any other business whatsoever. I am merely cautioning potential customers of this business's shady practices (I write this because I posted this same review and Yelp removed it because of "promotional content" - although I suspect that Jiffy Lube petitioned to have it removed because that would be consistent with their slimy practices ). read more

Came in to have my ac charged a month ago and everything went great. Sadly the service stopped working within three weeks, so I went back to get it recharged again. The person that did the original service told me that if it needed more fluid I could come back within 30 days and get it done again for free. I came back today and told the guy what I needed when I pulled in, he walked me inside and told me it would be about twenty minutes. After an hour of waiting I asked one of the two employees on shift if something was wrong, as no one had even come inside to speak to me yet. He told me that they were backed up and working as fast as possible. Another hour went by and a girl came in to check me out. She told me that I was going to have to pay around $180 for the coolant. I immediately started laughing and told her that there is no way it cost that much, and furthermore I was coming back within my 30 day window because the service failed the first time I had it done. I also told her that I didn't pay anywhere near that when I came last month. The girl was very polite and apologetic and told me that her and the other employee were both brand new and she didn't know what was what, but that I should have paid a lot for my service last month and that the people I spoke to a month ago had lied to me about coming back. I again told her that I would not be paying that and she told me that she would just do the service for free since the person I saw last month had told me that they would if it stopped working again. I wait another 30 minutes, as none of the two brand new employees can work the ac charging machine and finally drove away after waiting all day for a service that takes less than 5 minutes. The employees were polite, but very undertrained and understaffed. I will never go back to a jiffy lube in the future. read more

I had a very pleasant experience at the 13th Street Jiffy Lube. The guys were very nice; and they even has a nice lady mechanic working there too. The manager was very knowledgeable and showed us what was recommended by the factory. I love how they keep all the passed records even on our old car. I cannot say enough about the excellence at this location. I will NOT take my car anywhere else. Every time I come, EVERY single employee makes me feel like family and are always so warm and friendly. They get the job done very quickly and always offer discounts/coupons, not to mention they don't charge as much as some of the other places I've been to. They will never try to sell you anything you do not need...and we all know how that can be. Brandon (the manager I believe) always welcomes me when I arrive (even remembers my car and name) and is super friendly and personable. Didn't expect much more than an oil change, but the manager (Brandon) was very helpful in pointing out some of the maintenance issues that I was ignoring. They were very quick, and the cost was much less than I expected because Brandon applied several discounts to my bill. The performance of my car is much better because of a couple of issues that were resolved. Time is tight these days, so it is a great help knowing that I can my car serviced quickly with a reasonable cost at this Jiffy Lube! read more

Went in for an oil change. They took my air filter out and brought it to me to see if I wanted a new one even though it was obviously not needed. Not only that, but they failed to reinstall the lid of the air filter housing so when I drove off there was this loud hissing noise. I pulled over and noticed that the top of the air filter housing wasn't screwed down so I had to fix it. Also, they took my windshield washer reservoir cap and replaced it with some old busted one that broke in half as soon as I removed it. read more

Definitely not recommended. I was greeted by a young man who mumbled incoherently and rolled his eyes when I pulled in as if to say I can't believe I have to work. I was told they would get started on my car within 15-20 minutes and I was not in a hurry so told them I would wait. There was one vehicle ahead of mine. About 25 minutes later they were not even close to being finished with this one car! I also saw them almost drop the car tire on one of the worker's feet as the car was suspended in the air. I know from taking my car to other Jiffy Lube's in the past that they are required to do call outs to ensure safety and there was not even a peep out of either of the workers there. Overall: lack of safety, lack of communication skills, slow, and I will definitely not go back to this or probably any Jiffy Lube. P.S. After almost half an hour of waiting I left with no work done on my car. read more

I was not looking for anything special when I went to get my oil changed. I chose this Jiffy Lube because it was near the publix and just expected to pay the same $25-$35 for an oil change while I shopped (as I would at any mechanic in Gainesville -lived here 10+ yrs.). When I returned, I was charged $65 for my oil change!!! I was in complete disbelief. To add insult to injury, the guy told me that he had to use the highest end oil, or it would void my manufacturer's warranty!! Completely untrue and insulting! Do yourself a favor and never take your car to this shop, or any jiffy lube. Its one thing to disagree with a mechanic on pricing/labor for extensive repairs, etc. but the fact that this shop routinely price gouges on something as simple as an Oil change is unbelievable. This visit was about the 25th time I had been to a Gainesville Jilly. I have been to almost all Jillies in Gainesville. I have had ok service and good service over the last 10 yrs. Today was exceptionally done. From the phone call inquiry prior to visit thru the drive out of the bay. It was handled by a young male and a dark haired, 40ish male with a beard. Jiffy Lube at 3714 NW 13th Street. Do not go here! They charged me $85.00 for an oil change and that was with $15.00 off. There were no other customers there and I waited and waited only to find out they did not have an oil filter for my car and were waiting for one to arrive. I wasn't told anything upfront about them not having an oil filter or given the different prices of the oil change services. I will never go back, I asked why it cost so much that I could get an oil change from the dealership cheaper than that and was told they used very good oil. Also he said they vacuumed my car. My car had just been detailed and was clean as a whistle. I have used Jiffy Lubes in the past and had very good experience and they were cost efficient. The one on 13th Ave. by the Dunkin Donuts is a rip off. There were 4-6 employees there and as I was leaving another customer came in for them to rip off. read more

I have used jiffy lube for many years. This site rips people off, starting service before disclosing price... a basic oil change costing $109 after a $15 discount because I was upset. Went to this Jiffy Lube today and decided to write a review.Have been frequenting this particular store for a while and feel like they should get some credit for good work. The service staff were both friendly and helpful. Not only was I in and out in a "jiffy" , I was treated to an informative technician not looking to take advantage of me. I have read some of the other reviews and have to wonder... One thing that yelp should take into consideration is that some people with access to internet should not only be discouraged from posting but also from breeding. Maybe there should be a Yelp for people as well? Makes you wonder what kind of miscreant is clanging on the keyboard. Keep up the good work JL on 13th! read more

The location in NW Gainesville at 3714 NW 13th Street would not honor a coupon published for August-September, we're still in September. They told my husband they would give him $10 off the cost of the oil change instead. When he checked out, they charged him $75. He does have a volvo which can be more expensive but I will never, ever go to this Jiffy Lube again. I've never heard of anyone paying near that price for a 'discounted' oil change. read more

I went in to get the fuel filter replaced on my 1996 Buick Regal Custom. The service was excellent and they were fast! They replaced the filter in 8 minutes and the cost was very reasonable! I will be getting my oil changed here next time I need it! read more

I purchased a battery at this Jiffy Lube 3 weeks ago that went bad on a trip to Lake City, FL 1 hour away from home last night. I was stranded and called the store at 6:30 pm to troubleshoot the issue, and the manager was kind enough to talk me through possible solutions (we thought battery vs. alternator vs. starter problems at the time). He offered to meet me in Lake City to help me on his ride home, which would not be until later that evening. The next day, he spent half the day on the phone with corporate and fought to refund all of the money I spent on a new battery at Discount Auto Parts, which was delivered in full as cash to the store the next day. I was blown away that a manager would go this far to accommodate a customer and help out in a difficult time. S**t happens, and when businesses go the extra mile to treat their customers right, it is a beautiful thing. Will definitely be coming here again. Thank you Jiffy Lube! read more
