I was quoted $260 for the power window switch at the first place, and at Ahren's they quoted me $160 for that part.

We just had a horrible experience with Advanced Tire Service on Main Street in Gainesville,…read moreFlorida. In May of last year, a little more than 12 months ago, we purchased Goodyear Assurance All Season tires for our car. We paid for the tires, an alignment, and a "lifetime balance and rotation" package. Yesterday we went back to Advanced for an oil change and a tire rotation. After performing this work, Advanced also did several system checks and inspected the tires. "Mark", one of the employees in the office, told me my tire treads for wearing thin on three of the tires and one was in the "just okay" range. He mentioned that I should probably get new tires on my next oil change in 5000 miles. I was appalled. You see, the car has only been driven 12,000 miles in 12 months. The Goodyear warranty on tires is 65,000 miles, given normal wear and tear. When "Mark" looked at the invoice from 12 months ago, he thought that the mechanic, a newer hire, probably made a mistake on the tire tread depth gauge. Another mechanic went out to the car to double check the reading, and confirmed that the tire treads had indeed been worn beyond what one would expect after only 12,000 miles of driving. "Mark" mentioned he would speak with his supervisor/manager (Mike Mullins), and get back to me. He didn't. So my wife and I visited the shop this morning. The mechanics put the car up on the lift, and determined that the alignment from 12 months ago was done improperly. This was their mistake. They mentioned that the excessive tire wear was due to an improper alignment. They performed another alignment while we waited. They assured us that the tire wear henceforth would be closer to normal, although the tires already have significant wear. Not a good feeling when you are driving on the interstate or in town. But here's the best part. While we were getting ready to get in our car and leave, they informed us we owe them for today's tire alignment. Now that's incredibly nervy. Worse, the cost of an alignment this year is 20% higher than last year's cost. $120 versus $100. That's a whopping 20% increase. Of course, we will never go back to Advanced Tire Service. My opinion is that they were trying to "take us for a ride", even though they admitted that the issue was due to their less than stellar workmanship. There are many auto repair places in Gainesville take your vehicles for maintenance, including car dealers. That's where we will take our car in the future. They may charge a little more for their services but at least I think they are more honest and trustworthy.

I now know why my BRDCY stock is performing so poorly. Just go to Firestone located on archer Rd…read more and the stores performance is a mirror image of the stock. I made an 8 AM appointment to have tires rotated and rebalanced on my Toyota 4runner Arrived 10 minutes to 8 and completed my check in. Jeffrey upsold me on the lifetime alignment and asked if I was waiting or dropping it off. I told him I was waiting for it that's why I made an appointment. I took a walk around the area for little over an hour and arrived back to the store only to find my vehicle still sitting where i left it. It's now 9:15 and Orlando pulls the vehicle into the bay and walks away leaving the vehicle untouched for another 20 minutes. Orlando arrived back to the vehicle and walked around it several times spinning the tires has he played on his phone. Jeffrey walked out to the shop as I was making my way through the parking lot after watching zero progress being made on my vehicle for over an hour. I requested both Jeffrey and Orlando to lower my vehicle as I didn't have the time to wait any longer as they had already had the vehicle for an hour and 45 minutes and zero work had been performed. I should have gone to the reviews first to make a decision on where to spend my time and money. I drove past two of firestones competitors to get to their location and when I left their location, I stopped at one of them and spent my money there.

We have been Firestone loyal for over 20 years. Have had very good service from Firestone in…read moreCarrollwood area. I hate to write this review, but feel it needs to be shared. My daughter took her vehicle in for a nail in the tire, we ended up with four new tires. The car entered the garage without body damage and exited the garage with a significant dent, scratch, and paint removed on the driver side rear passenger area. The supervisor there stated they would take care of us and sent her to get an estimate on body repair. She went to two places, and the estimate was emailed. They assured us that they take care of their customers and they would take care of this. The manager came in a few days later and stated that it could not have happened in the garage because her car had white paint on it and that somebody must have hit it in the parking lot and therefore it is our responsibility. I have always thought once you give someone your keys at a service department, what happens to the car during that time is their responsibility. I have no idea what happened when the technician parked the car in the parking lot and drove it in and out of the garage. We filed a claim with Firestone and the claims department denied it stating that it must have been hit in the parking lot. Bottom line is we lost and we have to report it to our insurance company and pay the deductible. They did offer to pay the deductible, but we have not seen any follow up on that. The decision was made by two people who were not there during the incident and minimal consideration was given to the customer. So therefore the customer is wrong and Firestone is right and the burden is on us. My mother always said that this world is not fair and don't expect it to be, but it sure is hard sometimes. We hate to stop using the Carrollwood location but they really left us no choice. Trying to accept the injustice here and just move on. Thanks for reading.

Definitely NOT happy with this business…read more I returned to Advanced Auto Care after having my oil changed years ago, with this business. I was happy with their service then as well as their customer service. Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a stickler for GOOD customer service. So anyway, that's what brought me back. This time I needed not only my oil changed but I also had a rear taillight that was out. When I called to make an appointment, I spoke with a man who was pleasant but rushed me off the phone. I didn't think much of it because it was late in the day and I just figured they were getting ready to close up shop. I showed up for my appointment early and as I was speaking to the man behind the counter, he told me he was the one who spoke with me over the phone and he'd have his mechanic check my taillight. After about 30 minutes, he came into the office and advised me that I did in fact need 2 bulbs due to them being blown out. He then advised me it would cost me $42 + tax to replace the bulbs!! I was shocked. Completely. At first I thought that would be the total price for the oil change and the bulbs but he advised me that the $42 was separate from the oil change. I told him to forget it. He seemed a little miffed and stated after cutting me off in mid-sentence, "so you want me to tell him to put the bad bulbs back in?" Uh yea. Today I went to Auto Zone and bought the 2 bulbs the man said I needed. Guess what? For 4 bulbs (they are sold in pairs) cost me $15! And guess what else? The parts manager installed the BULB for me. And now guess the best part of all!!! I ONLY NEEDED 1 BULB, so I returned the 2nd pack of bulbs and all together it ended up costing me $8 after being refunded for a bulb I didn't even need!!! I was going to give Advanced Auto Care Center my business to fix my car A/C but I no longer will. This is either a perfect example of taking advantage of me because I'm an older woman or just plain ol greed and lying! Either way, I'm done with this business and hope others will be leery of taking their vehicles here. Shame on them!
