Had my tires rotated in August this year and everything was fine when I left. Two weeks later getting gas I notice my plastic hub on my rim is cracked and what looked like glue residue. I took pictures and contacted discount tire customer service and they contacted the store manager where the work was done. The store manager said their employees don't have duct tape in the store and they would never do something like that. Next I have to send a picture of my wheel to send in, been a discount customer for 15 years and make all purchases there. Store manager asked me if I could have caused the damage, as if I would step on the wheel when I have running boards on my ram 2500. Then I have to wait a week for a new plastic hub to be shipped and I get an email stating that the part arrived and go pick it up at the store, they don't offer to install it and I don't want them to either. Overall very bad service and cover up by management. Be careful when you go there. Pictures show it all and who else would have red duct tape. read more

I live an hour away from this tire shop. I ordered tires through their website on 7/20/2025 and they scheduled me an appointment for the following week to put the tires on my truck. I traveled to the store and they called me 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment to inform me the tires were not there, after confirming my appointment the day before. A week later, after following up with them every day, the tires came in. We get there to put the tires on and they begin to tell me that the tires will not fit on my wheels (even though they are the same exact size tires that are currently on my truck. I asked them why and their story changed 3 different times. After all of this, we finally got the tires put on my truck, BUT my bank account has been charged TWICE. Two charges for over $1,000, whenever the tires only costed $1300. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Wow! What a JOKE! Out of state traveling GO ELSEWHERE!! As a single woman traveling across country I needed a safe advise for my tire with a slow leak, received another tire that went flat the next day!!!!! You can NOT trust this locations team!!! Came here after driving across the country on a tire that had a nail repair by Discount Tire prior to leaving San Diego. My light came on a few days later. Not having the time to stop by DT a mechanic checked the tire to be sure I would be safe as I was leaving town. They showed me the hole actually leaking. They put a temp fix to get me to TX. A week into being in TX my light came on, the tire still looked fine and had not escalated. I filled the tire and it got me to FL where the light turned on again. Now relocated in central FL the closest tire shop is 1.5 hrs. Having to make a trip to Gainsville and finding a DT there it made sense to get both done in the same day and same travel. I spoke with Mike. Seemed like a cool guy. He checked me in sharing they had about 20 cars to catch up on. He insisted they could get me in that day. I came back at 6p after my vet appointment like he advised and waited until about 7p. The mechanics came in and told me they couldn't find a hole after telling them it was in the same place as the nail that was repaired. I know because the mechanics showed me this! I was told the tire was not repairable, they had to put a new tire which they didn't have in stock go figure! So they said they would put a similar NEW tire! Not very happy about that I agreed trusting they had my best interest and we're genuinely and sovereignty helping me be safer! I was happy to go to the other DT closer to where I know live. Mike ordered the team to put a new tire that would be safe until I could get the proper tire put on. The mechanics asked what tire, Mike told him. He hesitated and asked are you sure? Confirmed he went and changed the tire. The next day my tire light is back on and the tire is pretty low. The day after that I come out to a flat tire completely!!! A NEW tire would not have went flat the next day! Safe, absolutely not! Did they know what they were doing ABSOLUTELY!! Rotten crooks! I now left worse case than upon arrival! Believe I am going to corporate over this! The warranty doesn't cover poor customer service or people projecting there trauma due to lack of their own sovereignty! Never buying DT again! The trouble that have created over this is a headache NO ONE wants! Avoid this store at all cost and avoid risking the lack of professionalism and sovereignty and leaving with bigger problems then the one you walk in with!! read more

I called the day before, got prices for 4 tires and made an appointment with Luke. The next day I was helped by a different salesman who was very nice. I decided to go with the better tire which I thought were Michelins because that was what Luke had quoted me the day before. When I picked up the car, I noticed that the receipt said Falken on it but my salesman was on the shop floor and I didn't have time to stick around to argue over it. Luke had told me that the Falkens would have been $410 but they weren't in stock and he couldn't get them on time so I had to go with the Michelins for $547. Then there was $60 for warranty, which would have brought my total to $620 but he have it to me for $590. Since they didn't install the Michelins but the supposedly cheaper Falkens (that they weren't supposed to have in stock), I felt like it was a bait & switch. I admit that I was at fault for not asking which tire they were installing but he had everything in the computer already including the price so I wrongly assumed he was installing the Michelins that Luke had quoted me. Make sure that you confirm all the information before you leave your car with them. read more

My "new" 2014 car seriously needed new tires, and the word on the street that the best place to go for tires in Gainesville was Discount Tires. Let me tell you, they weren't wrong. These guys know what they are doing, asking you what kind of driving you are going to be doing in order to get the best fit of tire for your situation. I got in there, got my tires ordered, and when they arrived two days later I got in there on my appointment time and they got the tires installed in less than an hour. They also have free air checks, so if you think you are having an issue with tire pressure just drive right up and they will take a look right then and there. read more

I purchased a set of tires from Discount Tire in Gainesville, FL a couple of months ago. Prices are comparable to other places, plus rebates and other discounts are routinely offered. I set an appointment as recommended and sure enough the installation process was done quickly. The mechanics did such a good job it would have been worth a longer wait. It is not just a one-and-done transaction for them, either. They will contact you periodically to come get the tire pressure checked. That is a quick process with air added, if necessary, along with a check for any embedded nails, screws etc. They are sincerely concerned with the condition of the tires, and therefore the driver's safety. Too bad I cannot give less than one star. They had trouble with studs and left two lug nuts of front wheel. When I pointed out that was not a safe in front of floor manager "Timmy" the pull a lug nut off the back wheel and sent me on my way without "problem" lug nuts. I came into Discount Tire because I discovered a hole in my tire! My friends recommended here since they plug and repair tires for free... unless it was recommended to get a brand new tire. I was nervous because most places tend to try to take advantage of females since they are more likely to be less knowledgeable about vehicle maintenance. Anyway, I was reluctant to go, but they not only found the source of the problem (small nail), repaired but they made sure the rest of my tires were okay and ready to go! Even if I needed the tire to be replaced, they helped me select a proper tire just in case and they even helped me find rebates and stuff to make sure I would be getting the cheapest price possible. Charged more than double of what they said over the phone to mount tires. Talked it down a bit but still paid basically double. Shouldn't have been lazy and walked out, but I just wanted/needed to get the tires on ASAP. Regretted it not long after I got out. This place is "nice" and I didn't want to risk a "nicer" car at a more mediocre shop as well. Although, I honestly think it wouldn't have made much of a difference. The rims look slightly scuffed; could have been them could not have. Not 100% sure...but I didn't notice the scuffs before hand so I'm pretty sure. If you don't know about cars, tires...etc I can imagine you will pay more than you need to, but is that different at any other shop? As soon as I started seeing random junk emails I got pushed over the edge to write this review. Who knows if it was actually them that sold my email, but my inbox had been nearly completely free of junk until right after I went there. Well, I learned my lesson and will be going to tires plus, firestone...etc if I ever even need shop mounting UPDATE: After giving the car a good wash, both rims are most definitely scuffed. The one worked on by the more experienced tech is fine, very little scratches, probably inevitable on a black rim. I'm okay with it. But the other rim has very clear scuffs that encircle the ENTIRE edge of the wheel. I'm pretty upset because I literally told the sales rep my biggest concern by far is not getting the rims scuffed. These rims were like new, practically flawless before this. I tried touching it up with some black touch up automotive paint, but it doesn't seem to help at all, very visible touch ups. Not sure what to do at this point. Felt like I had to update because it has really upset me looking at those scratches everyday. read more

GREAT MANAGEMENT trickles down to GREAT EMPLOYEES! Each and every employee that greeted me was extremely courtesy, friendly and informative. I visited the store because my after market tire stem caps were fused onto the stems. Luke was more than happy to get his tools, head out to to my car, and attempt what I could not do. Luckily, he was successful. He explained to me what damage was done, and the remedy for the problem. The stems needed to be replaced. We headed back in to the store, and I proceeded to pull out my credit card. I asked if I should pay now, or later. Luke informed me that there would be no charge. I was shocked! There surely was a lot of work involved in replacing the stems. He insisted that my predicament was a silly mistake on my part. I CERTAINLY KNOW WHERE MY NEXT TIRE PURCHASE WILL BE!!! With all the construction in Gainesville over the years, I've picked up a nail or 2 in my tires. Discount Tire has been my go-to for several years now because they do a great job and don't try to sell me things I don't need. The staff is knowledgable and kind, and they always go out to the car and show you what's wrong with the tire (worn treads for example). They always give you options for tires and will patch tires (if it can be patched) for free. The wait times are normally quite fast. Get the warranty on your tires, they will replace them if they can't patch them if something goes wrong. Normally people hate going to auto shops, but I have always enjoyed the service I've received at Discount Tire. They definitely deserve your business. read more

Very shady outfit, always trying to upsell whether it's Lugnuts or windshield wipers. Just anything to get a little deeper in your pocket, I bought a nice set of continental tires from them with the full road hazard warranty, less than 5000 miles on the tires one was leaking, took it back "we pulled a piece of metal out of it. You should be good " is what the technician exclaimed, however, the next morning the tire was almost flat again, I got my dad to come over for a second time while I was at work to take the tire in, just another piece of metal. "You're good " Timothy explained, however that evening when I got home from work, the tire was flat again I pulled the tire off and Wala. There was the head of a screw sticking out! I'm not a professional tire person yet I can spot this but the professionals at this location cannot (I pulled the tire off of the car, and I could see that one repair was made but I could not see the second) strange you say. Honestly the worst time ever. I give 2 stars. 1 for each tire they put on my car. The staff move at differing paces. There are some teams who are quick and some who are painfully slow. I went to this location to change out my tires and was originally quoted a wait time of 3 hours. After I waited said time, I went to the register and they stated it would be another hour. I'm all for solid customer service so I'm unsure why these employees didn't call to inform me of the new wait time. Instead, I had to ask the staff of the status of my vehicle. They weren't even apologetic. We are taking 1+ hour late, not a couple minutes. I definitely will not be returning or recommending this location. read more
