Great staff! I walked in, explained what I needed, and they handed me what I was looking for in 2 seconds. Inexpensive parts, great service!

Guy said he'd install it since they offer the service for free. Before the new battery the battery was dying on us and was supposed to be replaced long ago. The new one would not start unless he jumped it. Tried to start it again with just the battery, still wouldn't start. We went back in to receive a core refund for our old one. Went back out and we got a jump to go home. Mid backing up the car completely turned off on us. Came back out and gave us a jump. Hooked up the machine and told us we'd need a new alternator. He tried to sell us one inside but I told him our mechanic replaced the part not even 6 months ago and it was under warranty. He asked if I trusted my mechanic and I said yes. We left. He told us we'd have to drive back through small streets with our headlights off since the lights drain the battery so much. We drove it home and it was already dark. Had my mechanic come out and he said someone tampered with the alternator and he showed me, it looked like it had been smashed in and some pieces had been broken off. You could also see greasy fingerprints all around it. He then showed me that the battery was not even properly connected. Said he wouldn't be surprised if the battery gave out a few months later from being put in improperly and driving it that way. He fixed the battery connection and replaced the alternator that was still under warranty for no charge. Never trusting another O'Reillys again. Shady people.

They checked my battery (which we replaced a week ago with a brand new battery) and said the battery was working perfect. They informed me that the starter was the issue, which would be $622 to replace. I decided to go ahead and have them replace it. When I arrived to get my car Wayne smugly informed me that actually the issue is the battery, so my car will need to be jumped to get it home. I am out $622 and my car still won't start. I will never bring another vehicle to any Pep Boys. This place is a scam and a joke.

They were talking about a guy at another location who is from New York and set in his ways and is rude. I thought that was unprofessional to be talking in front of a customer. Finally when they were done talking the guy asked what he could do for me and I said I came for an inspection. He told me they only do inspections Mon-Fri (which is my fault for not knowing that, but I didn't see that stated on the website) but I said of course and walked out. The two guys then proceeded to laugh at my "of course" remark. I will never step foot in this location again.

I used to have a lot of trust in First Texas Honda, but my most recent service experience was very…read moredisappointing. My 2018 Honda Accord was diagnosed with a failed turbocharger, and service advisor Aidan Carlson told me that even with my warranty coverage, I would still owe nearly $800 out of pocket. What concerned me was that he began discussing potential out-of-pocket costs before the warranty company had fully reviewed the claim and repeatedly stated that the warranty would only cover the turbo repair. When I contacted the warranty company directly, I learned that additional charges had not been properly itemized and that labor costs exceeded what the warranty company was willing to pay. After I asked Aidan to provide more detailed information to the warranty company, the claim was re-evaluated and approved. Miraculously, my estimated out-of-pocket cost dropped from nearly $800 to $0. The most frustrating part was feeling like I had to do my own research and advocate for myself to get an accurate answer. Had I simply accepted what I was originally told, I likely would have paid hundreds of dollars unnecessarily. Whether this was poor communication, lack of attention to detail, or something else, it left me questioning the transparency of the process. I appreciate that the repair was ultimately covered, but this experience significantly damaged my trust in First Texas Honda's service department.

That said, they are overwhelmed with business to the point that I had concerns about their customer service and attention to detail. I dropped of my jeep nearly 3 months ago with a list of repairs, and it took nearly a month to get a response and quote for the work. Another several weeks to get the work done. I made the mistake of asking about one more minor repair as an afterthought - which set us back another month to find the part, etc. Had I known the cost associated, I would have declined to have it done in the first place. When I finally got the jeep home, I noticed the spare was on - no mention of this when I picked it up. I am very laid back but this experience didn't sit well with me, so I called the manager and spoke with him about it. He offered an explanation but no remedy. In short: they are too busy these days to take care of repeat customers and proactively offer solutions, so I will take my business elsewhere next time.
