I came in around 8:30, a few tables outside had people drinking their coffees and eating breakfast. When I walked in, only one guy was waiting for his order. There was only one person working. The service was not good. I stood at the order counter for 5 minutes, I looked at the lady, she looked at me, and didn't offer a high I'll be right with you. I understand she was the only one preparing coffee and food. I'm not trying to complain about the wait, but the lack of acknowledging a customer to say it will take some time. I finally ordered an iced latte. I do think they have some creative drinks, but I know they are usually too sweet and I just opt for a plain iced latte instead. It was an ok latte, nothing amazing. They have a bulletin board for people to post their flyers or business cards. There was a card on the board that said A.W.A.R - All woke are retards. I'm sure that's not the view of the establishment. I do think they need to screen the board from time to time.

Their breakfast sandwich and grilled cheese with ham are the best examples of those sandwiches that I have ever had. It can take a little bit to get your food. You can either order in advance, if you're in a hurry, or enjoy a chat on the patio with a friend while you wait. It's totally worth it. Julie's is also a great member of the community. The owner, Shannon, donates food to many worthy causes, including Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter.

The color isn't pleasing but it didn't bother me. Their bagel sandwiches are petite than usual which was also a bonus because I didn't feel overly stuffed after eating both halves. When we finished eating we needed to bus our table. They have a bin in the back of the shop to set your used dishes. I'll be back next time I'm in the neighborhood.

My lox bagel was pretty fresh and delicious. Good amount of cream cheese and salmon, and the cucumbers and tomatoes didn't taste like they were sitting in the fridge. They were crisp! Since I was grabbing and going, can't speak too much on ambiance on the place. However if you work maybe a 9-5 and start your mornings early, this place was pretty empty for you to enjoy a cup of coffee and a bite.

The Park St. bridge is just a hop away, so we'll often grab a coffee here to fuel up on our way out of town. Street parking is very difficult here, but the grocery does have its own lot in the back, albeit a cramped one. Give yourself extra time to park.
