We've had ADT security for 20 years and have been happy with them. So when we wanted Solar Panels, we figured ADT Solar would be just as great.... but boy, was I wrong. Slow, terrible, creepy and awful are the words that describe ADT solar. 1. Creepy -- salesman was typical 1950's style pushy, inconsiderate and cringe worthy guy. He would walk into your house with dirty shoes on, speaking a mile a minute that you didn't know what was happening. He says misogynistic comments that I eventually just let my husband deal with him. He would show up completely unannounced (as in Hi, I'm in your driveway, I need to take measurements) several times and UGGGGH! They also want referrals of your friends so they can harass them ...... they basically pay you money for every phone number you give them. 2. Slow - from the time of signing the contract to turning on the panels, it's so far, been 1 year and 45 days. The Empire State Building was built in less time. Our panels are just on our house as decoration right now. 3. Slow - after construction, the crew and had cut out several panels of drywall out in our garage. It took them 4 months to fix it. They also used screws that were too large, and wound up drilling holes from the garage into the wall of the laundry room --- there were pointy screws protruding in the laundry room -- dangerous and ridiculous. 4. Slow -- while they were figuring out how to put panels on our roof, it took the architects/engineers MONTHS to figure it out. Everytime there was some sort of revision, our project would apparently go to the bottom of their very large pile of other projects. MONTHS and MONTHS of excuses. Our panels are still not turned on, but Ameren is currently paying the monthly payments until they figure it out....... so far they've paid 3 months.... This review is about the company as a whole: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! I made the mistake of signing paperwork with them. Soon after the person assigned to update me on my projects kept sending mass emails with all of his "clients" copied and I saw multiple grievances about not meeting appointments, getting charged for work that hasn't been done, etc. During the consultation, I told the sales rep that I bought a new house and did not want a hard pull on my credit, but when I asked if that would be done no solid answer was given and it ended up being pulled once my soft credit was approved. I tried to file a formal BBB complaint, but they are insensitive and uncaring - literally the only company I've had an issue with that REFUSED to provide a resolution. Don't just walk away from ATD Solar, run! We have had solar installed on all of our homes, all using different companies. When the salesperson comes to your home, it seems like a dream. The best company out there, but things start to go down hill after that. The communication is non existent. I've called and multiple times and customer service has filled out escalation forms multiple times. Guess how many times someone, anyone has reached out... 0, not a manager not my account rep. It's unbelievable. Getting scheduled for install wouldn't have happened if I didn't call and follow up with them. Totally unprofessional. The installation is a joke compared to other solar companies. They cut corners and leave your house in worse condition than what it was when they show up. Not to mention, 0 communication. They rang the doorbell once when they showed up, no updates or anything the entire time they were here or when they left. To top it all of... The system failed its final inspection. It's been over a week and you guessed it, ZERO communication. One of my biggest regrets is going with ATD. ADT got my number, and started calling incessantly. 5 times a day, on average, and when I called back, I simply got an automated line. I decided to block the number, so I started receiving incessant calls from another number entirely. I called back, and it was indeed the same ADT automated number. I blocked this new number, and it happened AGAIN. New number, more endless calls with no voicemails. ADT is bordering on harassment at this point. Don't give them your business. read more

I wish I would have read reviews on here prior to signing. Overall, the lack of professionalism of the project manager, Aaron and the mess that was left is why I am giving 2 stars. The system works fine so far. My frustration began when one day they had said they needed to turn the power off and I was "supposed to be told ahead of time". They changed the day since that wouldn't work for me. They never followed up once the cement was done and left it a mess. Before and after pics attached. Also several pieces were left on the ground too in the process. The trench took a while to be covered. I knew about the rain since the final inspection but time was passing and nothing was scheduled. After a few phone calls to Aaron asking about when the concrete would be redone, he said the contractor was out of town (so not the rain) and he would get back to us that day, which he did not. We reached out to our sales rep (who was amazing the whole time) & this is how things I believe actually got scheduled. The morning when Aaron called me his tone was awful and not good customer service. He said he had to wait on his other jobs (totally get it) but then said "I don't know if you are aware, we can't pour concrete in the rain?" I said that's so dumb of course I know that and he said in an aggressive voice "we will see you Saturday" and was about to hang up until I stopped him. He also said "well the sales rep should have explained it to you" and took no accountability for the job not being scheduled or at least communicating with me why it wasn't without us having to constantly follow up. They were really good in their sales speech.. would promise you the stars and the moon which we fall for thus purchasing the solar. I did my due diligence about solar but still fall for this guys coz they used tactics such as I'm your neighbor's nephew or friends. I should've listened to my husband who from the get go didn't like how they're conducting their business. Jason Tisdale and Aldrin were the one who sold the solar under sunpro/adt. We were guaranteed 60light bulbs, an electric plug and was told that they will be paying the Edison electric bill of $700 although we have the solar installed for a month already. I was told because it was not registering yet with Edison - which nobody told us that it will not work for the first month. Well, obviously we cranked up our AC and used all our electric appliance not caring about the 4-9pm TOU savings which by the way still applies even after having solar. They did not discuss any limitations as to what Edison can still charge. I was also told that they guarantee that we will not have any more electric bill or they will pay for it - that's all lie. None of those items were given up to now. I have followed it up several times. It was all false promises. Not honoring was was agreed on. I have all the proof in our conversation via text that these were going to be provided. Once they got us to sign that's it, we were left in the dark. Nobody follows up with us as to where we are at with the process. I have to reach out to them every time. When I call those people from ADT, it's directed to a voicemail and will be asked to leave a message but they never called back. I will just be surprised that a technician will show up at my door to work on the solar installation. I have spoken to several supervisors and all they tell me is somebody will give me a call. Now, let's talk about calling the customer support, which by the way another issue because their line is horrible. It literally will take between 40 to more than hour for someone to take your call. But, if you call the other line to get a quote, oh my will they have somebody to answer the call in less than 2 minutes - yes, I did that experiment and when I said that I am existing customer and that nobody's picking up on the existing customer line, was told that I have to call the other line coz she cant help me. ADT solar, you need to do something with your customer support - you don't want to be waiting for over an hour just to follow up on your product that you purchased. I have called several times and nobody has responded to my issues. Please advise. Do you need me to come in to your office? I can and I will coz I am desperate! I still owe that $700 bill from Edison that you're supposed to be paying due to the delays and also the e plug thats part of the contract. By the way, I have 2 friends who were supposed to get solar from you but I told them my experience so now they went to sunrun from costco and one local - true story. The absolute worst experience I have ever had with a company. I signed paperwork in May and 7 months later not only do I STILL not have a working system, despite assurances that installation would be complete within 60 days - I ALSO have a damaged house from when their workers attempted to install the electrical but instead stripped my main wire, broke my back porch lamp off my house, and left the electric meter dangling unattached to the house. They have admitted that they need to repair, but 6 weeks later I'm still getting the run-around on WHEN they will do so. And they can't finish my system until they do. This company bought out Sunpro a few years ago. I have 32 panels via Sunpro and had great customer service with them, until adt solar came to be my provider. Here is what happened, 1) I was not notified by adt. 2) At my first service call with adt, they took Nine months to fix a simple repair. Now I have 4 to 6 panels out and I have been ignored for the last 5 to 6 months. Therefore, I asked the Better Business Bureau to assist me. They have been trying for the last 5 to 6 months to get adt solar to honor their contract with me. Adt's response over the last 5 to 6 months, "We are trying". So yes, I am livid. We signed for panels in early 2022, didn't receive them until several months after promised, and have had a persistent leak in our roof for going on 13 months since installation. This company has caused us more delays and headaches than one could ever imagine. It took them 17 MONTHS to complete our project and our two month old courtyard pavers were left in scratched and poor condition after being promised that our property would be left in the same condition before and after project. Now they say "sorry, all your issues have been addressed and we have closed them out." Now I am left with the task of initiating a suit in small claims court for the $900 it would cost them to have our pavers stained to look half way decent. Our neighbors in our HOA made numerous complaints to us about the unsightly and dangerous conditions our job site was consistently left in. Even their workers complained about the company they work for and their total lack of communication. Good luck if they razzle and dazzle you to sign with them. We made our final payment to this business today because we are just tired of the runaround. We had one more issue with them that all potential customers should consider. We had asked for a credit to our bill for the electric bills we incurred during the months that our system was not hooked up due to ADT Solar issues with not having technicians available to be present during inspection, failing inspection due to city checklist,etc. ADT Solar asked us to send copies of the bills to them in order to receive a credit. We forwarded the bills to them as requested and got no response. When we contacted them MONTHS later, they stated that they had sent us a settlement agreement that we would need to sign. We informed them that we had not received that statement. Within a few days, they resent the statement as a docusign document that did not identify in the email that it was from ADT Solar. We were afraid of opening the link in fear that it was SPAM but since we were expecting something we went ahead and opened it. Below is a copy of the settlement statement which gave us $500 in exchange for us removing any bad reviews we posted. We choose to let ALL POTENTIAL CLIENTS KNOW THAT THIS IS HOW THEY DO BUSINESS. I had an appointment scheduled for a consult last week that never happened. I got a phone call the day before confirming my appointment and i emailed them my electric bill. The next day no one showed up. When I called to the customer service representative told me my appointment had been canceled. Zero communication to me about the cancelation, not only did they waste my time but they cost me money since I took the day off from work for the consult. This was enough of a RED FLAG for me to take my business elsewhere. I also emailed the rep who confirmed my appointment and she never responded. Horrible customer service. First, this will not be my final review, as this story has not been completely written. However, after multiple chapters, I cannot recommend this company to anyone for any service! Second, I know this is a veteran-owned business, so as a veteran, I feel horrible having to speak truth to power. A profession is a profession, however, and accountability is in order. This company is overwhelmed with the solar demand AND has proved to be incompetent in managing complicated operations issues that require increased customer attention and resolution. Additionally, their communication is extremely poor, and they deflect issues across multiple actors involved in the solar PV installation (salesman, account manager, operations manager, electrician, etc.). Among a myriad of installation problems (they had to dig multiple trenches that tore up my lawn and landscaping, they cut a LPG line because they weren't hand digging as agreed upon close to the house where multiple lines converged, etc.), ADT (SunPro) Solar mis-designed my solar system in their haste to get to a sales contract and now lack any sense of urgency to resolve the issue to my satisfaction. ADT did not account for an existing whole house generator and 400 amp service to two 200 amp breaker boxes when they designed my system. I had to put the brakes on the project because the generator was not electrically isolated from the solar PV system, a known imperative I gathered during simple research online while "trusting but verifying" their hasty work. As a result, the one line diagram approved by engineering was invalid and failed inspection by the country, leading to a delay sequence that has no "get well" date. In summary, the ground mounted solar system, installed for over a month now, is unusable with no ETC for PTO known by any party in their management hierarchy. The system failed inspection with the county and a one line engineering diagram reflecting the final wiring is all that is needed to move the project forward, acknowledging there are still more rate determining steps once the one line gets fixed. It has been three weeks since the inspection failed, and there have been no communications reflecting 1) understanding/responsibility of the problem and 2) a coherent update on the one line diagram progress and resolution. Meanwhile, the first payment on my $95K solar loan is inside 30 days, and I fear that 1) the system will not be PTO and 2) based on other complaints, they will not honor their commitment to make these loan payments for me, which will place me into a financial hardship. Finally, they sold me a solar system consisting of LG-380s while LG was in the process of departing the solar business. They knew this and did not mention it at all during the sales process. I get that this is on me for not doing my research but it's obvious now they were in a rush to sell me outdated/sunsetting equipment and I'm clearly paying a premium for that, which makes it harder to swallow that they are not getting the system to PTO in a timely manner. ADT needs to get this solar project complete per the contract with the promised solar production as the solar loan has funded that I am liable for. As a fellow veteran I placed my trust in this company and they will offer you a discount and assure you they use their own installers and the installation will go smooth because they have years of experience and are industry leaders yada yada ... but I am here to tell you, loud and clear, and as a credible member/leader within the US Armed Forces that the reality is much different once you sign that contract and you need to pause before you think about hiring this company! I do not and will not recommend ADT to anyone! And I will continue to share this story in the local community and on the social media forums for folks that are in the market for solar with rising energy costs. I now know that there are so many better choices out there! Get multiple quotes and read the complaints and reviews. They matter! We had the panels installed less than a year ago. Our house is now falling apart and ADT has not done anything but make this a legal nightmare. One they should have never installed on our kind of roofing, which was never made know to us until today. Upon installation they negligently drilled multiple screws straight into a slated roof covered by shingles then tin. Allegedly they only snap into place on tin and never needed screws. Either way they screwed in leaving holes large enough for Water to come in and cause wood rot to the frame of our house, the walls, attic space, insulation, furniture and the list goes on. It took 3+ months of calling and a notice of intent to sue to be contacted. Yet we were not contacted by ATD, we were contacted by a random contr actor and they had been assigned for all communication. Still no contact by adt. I have had personal communication with the CEO Jamie and she is very aware of this situation and multiple others going on. Our home insurance has lapsed at this time and we are uninsurable due to the current damages by adt Solar. A tree has since fallen on another building on the property. We are begging to have theses panels removed, and payed off for by ATD to prevent further damage and to mitigate current damages. They will not. They will not fix. They tried to force us into a NDA/settlement agreement stating we HAD to sing it to be reimbursed for having our solar panels covered by a tarp. RUN FAR FAR AWAY. THIS IS A HUGE SCAM. WE ARE ALSO PAYING 208 ON TOP OF A 100+ power bill. (2 adults in the home who work 12 hour shifts) so the math does not add up. It's all a lie, and a scam. They have made a breach the contract, caused property damage, have impended us from obtaining homeowners insurance, they have now blocked us from the sheer function they are supposed to do with out reimbursing those payments. Horrible customer service. I bought my system from SunPro solar in 2015 and recently tried to contact them but learned they were purchased by ADT. I have tried reaching them by phone for a week now but get nothing but music on the six different toll free numbers I either found on the web or was given to me by the ADT Security systems customer service group, I also drove to two different locations that were listed only to find they were no longer at those locations with no forwarding address information. Misrepresentation by SunPro on a solar system and Tesla battery. We met with a SunPro salesma- Joshua Cordle back in January and listened to his sales pitch. We told him we were without power for 7 days during hurricane Sally and wanted a solar system and battery to run our house should we lose power. He sold us 23 solar panels and 1 Tesla battery wall. When they system was installed we were informed the battery would not run our entire house but "essential" circuits. And, we would need more than one Tesla battery wall to run the entire house. The sales person did not mention anything about partial or essential power. We were charged $50,747 for the solar panels and $22,688 for the Tesla battery wall. I found out later the prices for the battery walls were in the $11,000-$13,000 price range. I feel were were misled on the systems capabilities and overcharged of the single Tesla battery. read more

I decided to go solar with SunPro and save money after only a few months of moving into my house in the summer. I did my research, and decided to go with this well established local company who didn't let me down. I put solar on both of my garages, and the work was top notch. They helped me through some of the old wiring issues at my house, and helped me figure out how to get more power to my garages and still save money each month on the electricity bill. They also installed 2 Quiet Cool fans in my garages which helped make my workshop environment much more enjoyable. I'm producing more than I'm using and am very pleased with the result. read more

My experience with Sun Pro is this: the company only uses a recorded line. When they called me after I responded to an online ad, I was immediately informed that this was a recorded line. I was asked at least four different times if I owned the home during that conversation. I felt as if I were on trial. The day of the appointment I got a courtesy call to confirm our appointment and it was a recorded line. "It's for quality assurance," was the response. (It's not for MY assurance!) When I called the office to cancel my appointment (I can't trust a company that needs to record my every word) the automated message made sure I knew it was a recorded line. I am in Tucson. My experience with ADT Solar is beyond incompetent!! I was told that only thing left to do was to have TEP pass inspection, and the the power box can be installed. After speaking with TEP trying to figure out why the project kept failing inspection he walked me through it. Showing me everything. I took notes and pictures and sent them to Sunpr! Now Sunpro won't return my phone calls! I have spoken with the dispute office and customer support (he was actually very nice). And still no one has returned my call !! I was told that the county passed their part of inspection, except it turns out that box was empty and could not have passed! Guess I was lied to!!! So much more I could say !! Horrible customer service. Refuses to perform warranty work. Do not use! Their customer service consists of making you hold for 20 minutes then they ask a question, then another 20 on hold. read more

I had Sunpro, now ADT Solar, install my panels early 2022 and because I had to have the entire breaker panel replaced I had to have smoke detectors connected to the breaker box. The electricians who came to install the smoke detector stole about $1000 worth of air conditioning tools. One of the things they stole were hoses for vacuuming a refrigeration system, which cost $714 and the other was refrigerant leak detector. I have the electrician on camera stealing from me. According to them it was sitting in their Dallas office for over 2 weeks before I contacted them. Not only did they not try to find out who the tools belonged too, but they treated me like garbage afterwards. Management did not put any urgency on the situation and were slow to respond. You would think any company that has to go into someone else's house would want to deal with a situation of proven theft, but treating me like I should be happy they are going to talk to me. They do not care about you once they get your money. Stay away from ADT Solar!!! I have had issues with the $714 hoses since I got them back and they said they would pay me, but I would have to sign a non-disclosure. I told them had they dealt with it properly, then I would not have put all the bad reviews I had posted on other websites. Since they decided to treat me poorly and like I owed them something I refuse to sign anything. They have promised me 3 times in writing that they would pay me, but then they tell me I have to sign and each time I said no. They do not care about doing the right thing because if they did, then they would do what they promised. Update 7/20/2023 They want me to send my information so we can work something out. This happened March 2022 and they still will not do the right thing yet. I am still going into many homes and telling people how this company treats people. Please check all the review sites I have left reviews on as well as the BBB. Just look into an electrician stealing about $1000 worth of HVAC tools and you will realize you guys do not care about doing the right thing only getting the bad reviews taken down.
