THE ABSOLUTE WORST THEIVES!!!!! My system has been down since MARCH 2024 and they have done NOTHING but brought my bill from $59.99 to $19.99. They then had a technician FACETIME me (be so for real, I pay you guys to come out not for ME to fix it..) and then never come out after seeing it was shot. During my discussion with customer service, I was informed my bill will be brought down Dec 5, 2025 from $19.99 to $4.99 IF IT IS NOT FIXED? If you are in Houston, don't use them! I had to get new sensors for my windows after having some work done. When the tech Khiem saw how much I was charged, he commented that I should have paid a lot more and the service when downhill from there. After doing half the work he said that he couldn't finish with the hard-wired sensors because of work done by a previous ADT tech. He then tried to get more money from me for different sensors even though they cost the same price. Both Khiem and his manager kept trying to get more money from me and when I called ADT, Khiem said that he would do it and to hang up the phone. I called ADT afterward to put in a complaint and haven't hear anything from them. read more

I was on the phone with ADT over an hour today trying to get my system reactivated. One of the worst experiences of my life when it came to customer service. They failed miserably because it was supposed to be a virtual appointment at 8:30 AM today, which is Friday, October 17, 2025. Either the virtual activation team did not note the account to call me specifically at my number or the technician that was supposed to call me directly did not call me directly. The call went to my husband a few times and then the technician stated in the message that they will have to reschedule. Not my fault ADT's fault. The first representative when I called in today did nothing but put me back in the ARU when she was supposed to help. The second representative helped tremendously and was trying to get me rescheduled which I again should not be rescheduling. It should've been done today. I wanted to complain about the situation so she put me to the account management area. The gentleman that answered the phone first of all sounded like he was half asleep in addition to could not do anything and flip me over to someone else. The next representative was extremely unhelpful because I said two words and she flipped me to another department. The next gentleman that I spoke with, was trying to be very helpful and he put me to the next department, which was supposed to be a complaint department and it was not it was just a schedule your appointment department. The last representative that I spoke to connected me back to the virtual resale activation team directly without flipping me over there, but instead did a three-way call to make sure everything was correct. I had to put my phone number as the primary number to call because for some reason, people cannot read notes on a ticket to say to call me instead of my husband and I think that is absolutely ridiculous. I have spent way too much time on this today when I have other priorities and things that I have to do and I am pissed. And to make the last note, the funny thing is before they switched my number over to the primary and my number was supposed to be in the ticket. PLEASE CALL THIS NUMBER. My husband text me and said that they left a message and you need to call the ADT activation team. So they were still calling him while I was on the phone with ADT how crazy and incompetent is that? For anybody interested in ADT, DO NOT do business with them. I am so unhappy with their services, and how I have to jump through hoops and pay them extra to come out and fix an issue. They installed faulty items, and I have to pay for it to be fixed AND pay for it to be replaced. Only have had them for three months, and in order to cancel they will charge us $1700+. NOT A RELIABLE COMPANY! I have had three different events happen on my property that people have tried to enter my home, and not ONE of them was caught on camera. You cannot tell me every single time that there was "connectivity issues" and now that there truly is connectivity issues with your faulty equipment, I am the one that has to pay extra to get someone out here to even LOOK at it- let alone pay extra on top of that for it to be fixed. What a shame. Never again will I ever do business with them. I have swayed my whole new construction community against doing business with them, and we will all continue to let the new buyers know not to get sucked into their contract. we just moved into a newly built neighborhood and was ripped off by someone named Victor. Safe heaven is a company ADT allows to sale their equipment . We allowed him into our home and trusted him to be there to do what best for us but we feel he came in and just took advantage of us. He had charged us over $2,000 for everything we got. Then the next day was at our neighbors house and gave him everything for free. We know this because our neighbors asked us how much we paid and we told him. he looked at us like were crazy bc he got everything for free and we asked him how he did that he said he told Victor that he didn't want anything multiple times so he told him he will just give it to him for free. We were very upset and we talked to Victor and he said he couldn't do anything for us but give us two months free subscription ($100). Us still being upset asked to talk to his boss. When we finally got in contact with his boss he said he could do anything for us. So i asked to talk to whoever was higher than both them. I was told multiple times by Victors boss i didn't have to talk to anyone else. I had to ask multiple times before he even agreed to let me talk to whoever was higher than him. The next day I received a phone call from the regional manager named Beau Gobert and had a conversation with him with him agreeing to give us up too $800 back. Which would mean we didn't need to pay the last of our payments for the items that were put into my home & a check for the two months of the subscription. I agreed and texted him right after the phone call asking for confirmation of the phone call with everything we agreed to. It took a couple days to receive a email saying we still owe almost $200. I tried calling and texting Beau Govert multiple times and haven't received a response. So i contacted customer service two weeks ago and was told they were going to put a ticket in so he can contact me and i haven't received anything. So i decided to contact them again this morning about the situation and i was told because i have no proof that he agreed to give ben up to $800 back they can't do anything for me. So I asked for the conversation recording of the conversation between him and I since every call starts with (this line is being recorded) and they said because he contacted me from what im guessing was his personal phone number that they won't have the recording. Currently customers and locked in to a contract with lots of "new and improved" devices. Well, our devices keep messing up.. every time they come to fix or replace, they charge you a service fee. $50-60. We've bought two panels within 6 months and both defective. Service charges for us. Worst part is, we have to take off work to be here each time. As soon as it makes sense for us, we'll be changing. I'm frustrated with how poor their business ethics are. Customer service is horrible, they charge your credit card even when they say they won't for a service call on a newly installed system. Then when you call and ask about it, they tell you it was billed in error and no invoice was ever even submitted for the work. Then months later you get billed for it again, miraculously there is an invoice to justify the charge and inquire again about it, get told it was for final installation? Update: Corporate has not done anything yet. I spoke with someone on Friday and they were going to try and help me today (Monday) to get an earlier appointment than 8 days after my original call... No luck yet. Since Friday, I've had someone drill holes into deadbolts to get into the home. They are now in jail... But getting out soon... I've provided a case # to corporate and phone numbers (case is not finalized thus no report yet) to see if they can help me expedite things by confirming the police report. As of yet, I have not received a phone call or email back despite two more calls made earlier today and a email sent on Sunday. Currently the surveillance system is completely down. I can't set the alarm to bypass the doors without sensors now, because I can't even set the alarm, let alone get the cameras to work. The reason I can't set the alarm... I can't run out the back door fast enough to actually finish setting the alarm because the alarm goes off. (That pesky issue with the deadbolt that was partially drilled out....) I guess I could crawl through a bathroom window to get out of the house, but then the house is open, which makes no sense. PS In my last conversation with a technician Friday he said the cameras are likely offline and unable to work because the systems power adapters were on a power strip and things were installed too close together... Really? NEWEST UPDATE: ADT Corporate finally called... Bad News and Good News. - I can't decide which is worse! BAD NEWS: Even with a way to get some access to a police report that clearly shows the individual who BROKE into the home, was ARRESTED at the behest of the OWNER, who is on CRUISE and can't be reached for the most part, ADT won't take the BURGLAR off the account. GOOD NEWS (Not really because the system can still be disarmed by someone who was caught BREAKING INTO THE HOME.): I still have a service call 8 days after the original service call. ADT still can't get an earlier date.... - Would a business or new sale take as long for service??????? If ADT can still do a service call, how does that work in this situation? The person ARRESTED for BURGLARY for BREAKING INTO THE HOUSE can still get into the house at any time. They are on the account! ADT doesn't seem to have a common sense policy that would remove or temporally bar someone from disarming the alarm system even if someone has been arrested by the police, is in JAIL and the HOME OWNER was able to be contacted to get the person arrested in the first place. Does anyone else think this is logical? Or do they think its crazy? There should be a mechanism in place for extreme situations like this, but NO DICE with ADT. Corroboration from a POLICE REPORT isn't good enough for them to see that the OWNER told the officers the person ARRESTED is not allowed to be on the property! That should be enough to have the person removed from the account, but ADT says NO. I just want the system armed and the individual off the account to ensure they can't turn the alarm off when they break in AGAIN. (See the photos.) You would think access to a police report - 3rd party and all - would give ADT a clue on what the right thing to do is, but they can't figure this out apparently. ADT has NO COMMON SENSE policy whatsoever. IF someone is in JAIL or ARRESTED for breaking into a home ADT will still allow them to have access to the alarm system to turn off the alarm if they are successful in breaking into the house AGAIN. Which is what is going to happen. I guess my only option here is to uproot my life and move into my Moms house for the next 3 weeks. Guess I have to be the surveillance system. REALLY????? This review should be a -10. This is a true story. I started out with Protection 1. It was bought out by ADT. I had trouble with ADT from the very beginning (adding fees for services every month or so). I paid my service up for the year to avoid these problems. Since January 2021, I have had at least 11 false alarms go off for the same areas ALL 11 TIMES. On the first false alarm, they called (They stated that they could not reach me by the alarm system. Why? Because I was outside with the police whom I had called. It took 10 days for them to send out a tech. The very next day, the alarm went off again. This should have been a priority. Within 6 weeks, ADT has sent out a tech to fix the VERY SAME PROBLEM. (All 11 times). This monitoring system is very flawed. The last three days when my alarm went off, they just did not bother to call. One of these times I had taken medication and did not even hear the alarm going off AND no one even called me to make sure that I was ok. When I called this morning after the alarm went off again, they told me that I had requested to disregard the faulty sensor until someone could come out here 8 DAYS LATER. Keep in mind that their tech was out here to repair the faulty sensor 5 days ago. The alarm went off the very next day for the same sensor that has been faulty since day 1. Do Not Use this company. My next move? I'm getting an attorney and I've told my children if anything happens to me, check ADTs recorded phone calls; then get an attorney. read more

When we moved houses, we thought the transfer of our ADT system would be easy but it was extremely frustrating and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. My sales rep started off by accidentally charging our card almost $1500 which later had to be refunded. He then scheduled us for the wrong services to be installed, we were reached out to by three different sales reps who kept scheduling us for different installation days, and on the day of the installation the real mess started. We found out that our rep had told us our monthly payments would be around $85 a month and neglected to say that was HALF the price and that we were actually expected to pay about $170 a month because he hadn't included any of the equipment fees and expected the technicians to tell us this on the day of the installation. We then had to tell the technicians to take out the equipment they installed because there was no way we're paying that. This turned into 2+ hours of support calls that all confirmed that the sales rep had done us dirty and we ended up being escalated to his manager. We finally got our plan changed to only cover what we had on the previous house because if we tried to cancel our services with them they would charge us up to $1000 for breaking the contract. Up until now, we're still dealing with potentially being charged $913 for inaccurate cancellation charges on our previous account just for changing addresses. We were on the verge of calling a lawyer on these people because of how irresponsible they have been with our time and money. I had problems with my security system provided by ADT here in Houston, Texas going on for two months and counting. They took over Reliant. First the doorbell light was not working properly and I called them and was asked to do a virtual appointment so they could fix it that way before they send out a technician. We that was a big FLOP. It was determined that the technician didn't know what type of device (unit) I had on the wall so he was stumbling over what n to be done to fix the problem. He finally admitted that he had not worked on this unit before and made an appointment for a technician to come out. When one week rolled around, the technician came out, still trying to figure it out, then he said he needed to replace the Reliant unit with their ADT unit to get it working properly. So he did that after an hour or so. The light came on and stayed on for one day and all of a certain I couldn't hear the chime ring when someone pushed the button. So I called them back and told them they needed to send someone out to fix the problem. Of course they wanted to do another virtual appointment. I refused and told them they need to get somebody out immediately to get it fixed. Another week rolled around before someone else could come out. A new technician came out, tooked the doorbell off the unit because he said it was not attached to the apparatus correctly and that was causing the problem. After doing that he said he needed to put an adapter on the chimer for it to work......guess what, it still not working. He told me he had done all he could and I needed to get an electrician out to check the wiring as they don do that. By this time, I told him to please leave because the problem started with them taking everything apart and not knowing what they were doing. The electrician came and checked all the wiring and tested everything and the doorbell chimed when he tested it on his meter he had. He told me I need to get ADT back out to redo everything and reset. I called for the 40th time, and now they tell me I have to purchase a new chimer as they don't repair or replace. i will take this to KDHT TV to get assistance with this because I'm literally TIRED TIRED. If you got ADT cut your losses and get someone else for your alarm services!!!!! The value of their customer service and product, price is under rate.....poor service as well as customer service!!! read more

We have had ADT secure our homes over several years in a few other states, still have a system in Upstate NY.......However we have NEVER had such unacceptable customer service or a system that has a fault more then not! It all started with our sales rep, she was MIA shortly after the system was paid for.....the tech that installed was very helpful for a few calls and he is also MIA. We live in Santa Paula and tried the "local' office in Santa Barbara.....most times no answer, leave a message no return call. Our system does not make us feel secure when we are away by any stretch of the imagination. If I could find a reliable alternative in this area I would get a letter from a lawyer and get out of the contract.....to be sure we are searching for a replacement while the contract runs it's course. Well Today is a new day and i've contacted the 800 number adt gave us to try and correct the issues i'm having . Well i make it over to the billing department after being on hold for 10 min and then she wants to transfer me over to the collection department :/. (Hold time) Finally i just hung up. I've had ADT now for some 6 months and made 6 months worth of payment's at 43 dollars a month so tell me why do i have a 271.00 dollar balance? Frustrated...... The main reason I installed a security system in my home it's that my Home Insurance company required it. I called ADT because I received 3 mailers offering substantial discounts. Problem#1. I had to call 3 times to set up a equipment instalation date, Problem #2: they missed a 1st appointment, Problem #3, They came an hour late on a rescheduled appointment, Problem #4. Technician was extremely pushy suggesting to instal a device on every door and window and he did. When the installer arrived, he upsold us on over $800 of equipment but told us that it was the cost of the system. Wish I could give negative stars. Contracted for nearly $50 a month when moved into new home. Had to have payments set up on an autodraft with them. About a year in 2 things happened: they raised the contracted amount (read the fine print, they could do it) and they moved their statement cycle about two days...so the statements were always showing a "past-due" amount even thought they were still autodrafting the amounts. Complained about this and they do nothing. The last straw is when they double charge me for a month in the midst of all this mess that they created themselves. Called to cancel and I get the WORST rep whose job is to "find out why" and obviously has an agenda to keep me as a customer. By the time I'm done with her I'm furious and she takes no responsibility for escalating a situation when all she needed to do was process the cancellation. At what point do you not realize there is no salvaging a business relationship? She blames it all on the previous (THREE!) reps I had to go through to get to her, explaining over and over that I just want to cancel. So I get a final amount to pay off my contract, submit it online, and this slimy company tacks on ANOTHER month of service onto the payment (with no review, or authorization, or explanation) past the cancellation date...and of course no ability to cancel the payment. ADT, sadly there exists a huge failure with this company on multiple levels. However having spent time on the phone with four (4) employees, I believe that for the most part they are trying to be helpful. With the exception of one sadly ignorant tech who's only response to resolving a blatant flaw in the ADT service was that he heard what I was saying and that we should move forward and not dwell on what has happened. That flaw is that the system only reports an alarm if the land line is communicating with the ADT system....but ADT has no knowledge on what systems are on-line or not. The system can only be tested from the house. ADT cannot initiate the test. In my case, power in the neighborhood went out. The system sent a signal that it lost power, but when power came back on the ADT system didn't link up. The ADT system doesn't check to see if it's synced up. So no one at ADT would know it isn't connected...and no alarms cone thru to ADT. I was out town at the time (350 mi away). I received a vm from a neighbor complaining that the alarm had been going off. When I called ADT, they said the system showed no such alarms. When I asked for assistance to disable it remotely, they said I would have to call a friend and ask them to go to my house. Fortunately I was luckily, a friend left work and drove over to the house. Someone had broken which set off the alarm...but I was never called or notified. Had the alarm not been a nuisance to the neighbor the house would still be open to theft or damage. And when I tried to ask what could be down to avoid such a problem I was transferred to the tech support who had no interest to help other than offering to credit 1 mo of service ($48) and saying that the wireless system would be better. But when I asked how would anyone know if the signal was live (loss of cell service etc) response was that it's the owners responsibility to test the system monthly from the panel to be sure it's synced up with ADT. And had I done so before the trip may have avoided my issue. What an idiot !! The power outage during my trip dropped the sync not my failure to test the system before I left. So ADT, thankfully you have some employees who care....they just don't know how poor your system is. And for your Tech who is so poorly trained...good luck with your career. Bring on the competition, Cox cable and everyone else who offers superior connectivity and for less $$. read more

Worse service ever we finally went with someone else They won't help you and the wait time on the phone for service help while you are listening to a voice say ADT always there which is a joke! One of the sensors went bad and wake us up at one in the morning. Come to find out we have an old system and we weren't connected with them for a whole year? Because of a faulty phone line meanwhile no service and did not notify us ? Oh but no problem taking our money for over a year? So we went with someone else and we asked ADT to send someone to take all the equipment back and they said no we had to do it ourself ? Terrible company ! read more

Wow, just called the main number for ADT and the guy could not give me any information as to what it would cost to install 1 video surveillance camera, asked him if it was over 1,000, 5,000 or over 1000,00 and he said he could not give me any kind of estimate as to what it would cost? They have to come to your home! All I wanted was a rough estimate to see if I should waste their time or mine! LOL! Why do they even have someone answering the phone? LOL! read more

Very disorganized, terrible customer service, billing mistakes, etc. Customer service hangs up on you consistently. Have wasted hours on the phone with them. I'm stuck in a contract so I can't cancel but wanted to make sure others don't go through this. read more
