I had a system installed by a local provider many years ago. I liked them because the owner and…read moreinstaller held my hand and let me just purchase the equipment. Most companies as that time wanted me to lease or do some kind of payment plan which I wasn't interested in. Other providers wanted a 3 year contract and original, installing company did not. Eventually, the company that did my instilwas sold to a group out of San Antonio and then that company was bought by Alert 360. They are based out of Tulsa and their service couldn't be worse. It's as if ADT and Comcast got together and had a baby and the baby got only the bad traits. The first thing they did was jack up my rate without offering any additional services and as a special "feature" they tacked on a monthly "insurance" cost to my bill without asking me. I called up to their headquarters and asked the clerk to justify their existence. I asked why I would continue to pay them when now days, systems are automated, cheap and efficient. The woman answered that "they answer the phone faster than any other alarm company." Which just shows she totally missed the point of the question. These people are crooks, and this business model is going the way of the dinosaurs. Update: no see, I'm not trying to get anything from you. Nor am I intent on helping you learn, grow, or be better at business. I've had my experience and now it's out there for people to see. Your chance, you had it, it's over. Good to know that you didn't even try to refute a single comment I made though. Should be evident to anyone that can read what a horrible company you are Update 2: Alert 360 somehow believes I care to have a "resolution" and doesn't understand what the purpose of Yelp is. This is a place for people to offer reviews and share experiences for the general public to see and be informed. It is recommended that Alert 360 get better at social media and business in general. Alert 360 should be advised that people do not succumb to demands for "direct contact" nor are reviews posted to help a company learn Update 3: positive reviews seem to be for "Central Security Group." Karen of Alert 360 appears to be excited to claim ownership of past positive reviews. Maybe Alert 360 bought that company as well. It shouldn't mean that Alert 360 is entitled to past performance.

The men went to a hardware store to buy stuff to fix the problem. Not a good idea, but they thought they were doing the right thing. Later that evening, it started dripping again in my bedroom. Mr. Adrian Reyes wasted no time in taking care of the problem by staying on top of everything by calling a plumbing company Roto Rooter to fix the problem. Mr. Reyes called and texted periodically to make sure everything was going smoothly, which put me at ease. Through it all, my only problem was having to deal with a customer service agent in Oklahoma (I reside in Texas), who kept talking over me, trying to make me UNDERSTAND that I have a leak in the roof. Poor customer service on her part, but that will not deter me from giving Mr. Reyes 5 stars. I recommended CSG to two of my friends. The one that had the system installed is extremely satisfied. The other will have hers installed in August. I am sure she will be satisfied as well. Now, I have a different perspective on "one bad apple spoil the whole bunch". Not true in this case. Just one person acted inappropriately, but Mr. Reyes was quite professional, and maintained his professionalism through it all. I would definitely recommend this company. Mr. Reyes certainly deserve 5 star rating. It's too bad I can't give him ten stars. Mr. Reyes is a great asset to Central Security Group. Happy the technician is alright. Things could have been so much worse on either side. Kudos to Mr. Reyes. Keep up the good work.

He came back to complete the installation with two helpers. They were efficient and did exactly what they said they would do for exactly the price quoted. There were no hidden fees or nonsense. The clarity on the cameras is amazing- even on our cell phones.

Be ready to purchase their monthly service plan - otherwise, you will be left in the cold. Juan always has an excuse why he does not call you back. One of my cameras lost color over a year ago and it still has not been fixed. He came out to troubleshoot it, but still no color. I was told me that they could try one other thing, but they couldn't really figure out what the problem is. I would have to pay for this solution because it involved new wires or something, but there was no guarantee that it would work. It seems a bit unfair that I am expected to pay for "experimentation", when they should know how to repair it and to restore the camera to the condition that it was in when they first installed it (with color). Like I said, be sure to purchase the service plan, so that they will be forced to fix your equipment for free if something goes wrong (and it will). I learned the hard way.

They lie during installation, so make sure you read your contract VERY carefully, they over charge for EVERYTHING, provide substandard "security" (you can get better from Nest for a fraction of the price and no contract), and ALL of the tech they push on residential consumers is GARBAGE. Oh, and when that garbage tech fails, expect them to come at you for HUNDREDS of dollars to replace it. Get fed up with them? Expect a bunch of legal threats if you don't pay their reprehensible extortion scheme dressed up as "business equity." They will flat out tell you that unless you pay their cancellation fee, which is a percentage of your remaining contract, they'll take you to court and scar your credit. A scant 2 years into contract the doorbell cam went kaput and they wanted $250 and a 5-year contract renewal to replace and install the ugly thing. When I explained that I could purchase a better device and install myself for a fraction of that, there was no negotiation. They're happy to passively collect the monthly fee and do basically nothing for us in return. I would have ended my business with them were it not for the gotcha contract that hails from a bygone era and is probably the only thing that keeps them profitable. I'll not be renewing and I'm passionately recommending to others that they go another route.

There was never one company that stood out from the rest. There were either very high installation fees or DYI installation with cheap products and always very mixed reviews. I was starting to get pretty desperate but luckily stumbled across Home Star Protection on yelp. I never thought I would rave about an alarm system but can't stop telling everyone we know how great Home Star Protection is. Tim was great at explaining everything and only sold us what we absolutely needed. Having that initial consultation really sold us on the company. Jes was very professional throughout the installation process and took his time reviewing the entire system to us. I love that they use the current system your house already has and just upgrade it as needed. I feel so secure having this system. The alarm.com app and mymoni.com are very easy to use and offer a lot of great options. It's nice to know there are still good companies out there that won't try to take advantage of their customers. You will not regret choosing this company. Thank you so much Home Star!!
