The absolute worst service ever! This branch has stolen over $1,000 from us! They came out on October 21st to install our alarm system. I was then told the system we signed up for wasn't going to work and we would need to upgrade to the wireless for more money. The tech left wires everywhere, boxes out and the alarm cover sitting on my staircase with a big hole in the wall. In the meantime ADT cashed our check for installation for over $1,000. The rep Tim came back out to set up another installation 2 weeks later and still nothing was done. I have called the office to request for a refund since we are out over $1,000 and have NOTHING to show for it. I have left Brian Pershall the Branch Manager 2 messages with no call back and his Manager 1 message with no call back either. I am STILL trying to get my money back to no avail. BUYER BEWARE!!! My cameras are not working currently and I have made several calls to ADT , and experiencing unprofessional and nonChalant attitude from both supervisors and other workers. I am ready to close my account with ADT as the are pricy anyway. I finally got my rebate check. (Thanks only to the 1-800 number's customer service. The local office stopped returning my calls.) But I'm not writing this update because of my rebate victory. 5 months after my installation we had our first rain of the season. My roof has never had a leak and I've lived in this house for 6.5 years. Well, you guessed it. I developed a water leak and it was coming from a hole that ADT had drilled to install my front door alarm. My husband had no choice but to climb into the attic himself and to no surprise, ADT had drilled through my roof as well. We bought some roof patching stuff and sealed the hole. I won't know if that fixed it until the next storm. I called the 1-800 number and although that service agent couldn't help me she was very apologetic and told me that I had to call the local installation office. I'm fairly confident that the hole is sealed but called them just to see what their reaction would be. There was no apology...just a monotone voice that they would send someone out to look at it. I told them that the call was not to send out a repair person but to report the incident so perhaps they'll stop drilling through roofs in the future. (And I told them that I'll see how it goes the next time it rains and if it continues to leak I'll give them a call back.) NO reaction whatsoever from the local office representative. Go figure. I had my install scheduled between 8-12 on a Saturday morning. I received my confirmation call not once but twice the day prior confirming that they would show between 8-12. At 11:45 the morning that a tech was to be at my house I get a call from ADT asking me "is our tech Travis there?". When I told them "NO" they placed me on hold to "call him and get a status" and after 10 minutes of waiting they came back on the line to tell me "we can't get in touch with our tech but I am sure he will be there soon". At 1PM I called customer service since we still had no tech. Again, I was placed on hold for 20 minutes while they were calling him to get a status. The rep finally came back on the line and told me that he was finishing a job up and would need 30 minutes to complete it and then 30 minutes to drive to my house. After an hour and 45 minutes and no tech still I called ADT "I am sure Travis will be there soon." This whole time I was calling our sales rep Mike Protheroe who assured me that "I will be available if you have any questions during the install". I left 4 messages and no call back!! At 4:15 "Travis" called me and asked "do you still want me to come out and do the install today?" My response- "Yes I still want you to..... I have been waiting all day for you and no one has seemed to be able to reach you or they give me the run around". He then tells me that my install will take anywhere from 3-5 hours and by the time he drives to my house it will be 5PM. I told him to forget it and not to come to my house. I called the customer service line and explained to them that I no longer am interested in their services and that I want my deposit fully refunded. I explained the entire situation and was told that they would cancel any contract they started for me. I left one last message for my sales rep where I told him that I was no longer going with his company and have already requested a refund for the deposit. Amazingly he phone back immediately. "What's going on"?? I explained the entire situation and how unhappy I was. Starting off on a bad foot long before the system is even installed. He told me he understood and wanted to make it right and would call me Monday after he spoke to his manager. Monday came and went and no call. Finally Tuesday he calls and gave me several options to make the situation right and to earn our business. I declined all the extra alarm sensors and heater sensor and requested for free installation since one Saturday was totally wasted because I waited all day for nothing to happen. "I'll have to speak to my manager and get back to you". He phoned back with other options and explained how much all those things were that they were willing to give me for free. After doing the math, those items were more than the installation fee. I asked again for FREE INSTALLATION, "I'll need to speak to my manager". Which leads me to believe that he never took that first request to his manager if he had to speak to him again. Two days later he calls me to tell me that they will provide me with free installation and has the coming Saturday available for the install and will request someone other than "Travis". The new installer showed up to my house on Saturday morning a little after 9AM (remember I was told from the other tech it would take 3-5 hours for the install)- after 1 hour and 15 minutes he was done and out of my house. Monday in checking my bank account I see that I was charged by ADT the full amount that I was originally quoted before the whole fiasco. I called my sales rep Mike and left him several messages regarding this issue. This morning since I have not heard back I called the customer service line again and explained the situation. They stated that nothing was noted on my account for a free installation, they will credit my card which will take 7-10 business days to receive however they still need his verification or I will be charged again. I have left two more messages for the sales rep and still no call. Amazing how when he wants his sale for his commission he goes out of his way but now that the sale is over I get no response. read more

We finally decide to buy a house. We end up in Antioch - lol yeah, yeah, yeah.... you know its Antioch - whatever, everywhere has their issue, right? OK - so we buy our house - new to the area and to antioch but never really put too too too much thought into it. It's our house. Our domain but still since we became home owners we had to act accordingly and since NONE of our neighbors had 150 pound rottweilers (nor would our insurance cover it) we go for the home security system. We've been nothing but pleased one hundred five star ratings over. The quality of security and customer service is beyond this measely review - the people of ADT have been nothing short of APOLOGETIC FOR CALLING AT 630 IN THE MORNING WHEN OUR ALARM WENT OFF - my fault, forgot to shut the door as I left for work!!!! Or, my rear end or big purse has prevented the complete closure of the front door as I've raced out in the morning. We can enjoy an evening out knowing our home is secure with you we love you ADT - you've been a very inexpensive blessing to us for the past six years. I'm actually writing this review to address ADTs sales tactics as opposed to their service which I do not subscribe to. Essentially my problem with ADT is that the company doesnt control it's contracted sales force. On a regular basis I have door to door solicitors, usually young men, who instead of extolling the virtues of ADT to sell the product, they slam the competition. I don't need a smart ass kid with no knowledge of the product I use, let alone the one he is selling, to argue with me on my front porch about what I should and should not buy. Adt don't do it. System keeps failing. Had tech come out several times all they did was reset the system. Last call 9/28/15, the tech wrote on his report that he changed the cell. All he did was reset the system. On two separate occasions I sat on my remote panic button and set off my alarm. When I called Adt, they said that they did not receive the alarm. Tried to cancel but they said I would have to pay a cancellation fee. Now I am paying Adt for services that are not rendered. Today 10/01/15, I had another call for service. Truly a dishonest company. We moved and cancelled our contract early, paying a $558.50 fee. The new owners picked up ADT service and they refunded $558.50, but never credited our account for the service takeover. So now they are billing me $558.50 again. Get the run-around on the phone. I should have done my research before choosing ADT for security services at our family business, House Kombucha. After dozens of false alarms and several failed attempts to fix our service, we had to switch to another security company just to keep our facility safe. Now, ADT is saying we owe them over $1,300 in early termination fees! That's for failing to do their job, and trying to saddle us with subpar service. Just an update to my original review. The manager at the local ADT office (Omar) reached out to me and addressed our concerns! He took ownership and was genuinely listening. I wish I could say the same to the ADT corporate office who just gave me the run around and denied my 'Theft Protection Guarantee' claim twice citing I failed to turn on the system at time of incident! I've had ADT for almost 2 years and I have never had to use them, so can't speak to their reliability because I live in a pretty safe neighborhood what I found out is that they are like a mafia they will literally keep you for three years and they increase their prices whenever they feel like it, really nullifying your original contract. It is almost impossible to get out of their contract. If you move or if you die, you still need to successfully pay their contract, you really want to monitor your safety get yourself a better company. Not one that tries to sell bogus things. They have increased 12 per month in the last 1 1/2 and I still have one and half more to go. read more

We've been with ADT for 4 months. We needed a system to monitor outside our home. The system is not even detecting me driving my car in and out of the garage, let alone alerting us to someone on our property. Multiple calls, multiple techs, all resulting in the same thing. "Everything is fine." They leave, the system does not record all motion. It will sometimes pick up a stray cat but not my SUV coming or going. At this point, all I want is my money back and to be done with their contract. They've been out to "fix" the system more than ten times since we hired them. Enough. Please do not hire this company to protect you or your property. Not only did we pay for the equipment and the monthly service charge, we also continue to have items stolen. There is a reason why this company has a 1 star rating...avoid them like the plague. They are a high pressure sales company who abuse the elders. My mother sign a contract with them in 2011. ADT wants the elder to believe they still have a "verbal" contract and they keep billing them despite the system not working for two years. They wanted to charge her another $400 to "repair" their system and they also unilaterally increased the price of the service. I had been with ADT for 21 years. I desired to update my equipment. I shopped around to get an idea what was available. I then called ADT to see what they could do to match what I wanted. The best "deal" they could give me is worse than a new customer would get. When I said no I received multiple calls and emails from the "manager" who could give me a better price. I was still going to pay full price for most items but could get a break on some. They would also waive the $99 install fee. But in order to get the total package I would have to increase my monthly bill and add on some services that I did not want, such as 24 hour video recording. I expected my monthly bill to increase but not expecting to pay for items I don't want just to get a price break. Some deal!!! Final straw was if I cancelled they would charge a $120 cancellation of which they are not permitted to waive. Wow, 21 years and they can't waive the "mandatory" $120 fee. We had Ackerman security for years on two properties and were very satisfied. ADT bought them and the service went to heck. After an absolute fiasco on one property with ADT trying to upgrade the system we canceled that service and webt with Ring. At ADT one hand did not know what the other was saying or doing. Just now I tried to reach customer support because of problem arming the system at the remaining property. After 10 minutes on hold, on the only number them give you, I could not talk to a tech support person and was put on hold again with another wait time of 10 minutes. I gave up. We will cancel our service with ADT and install Ring like we did for the first property. ADT is a waste of time because they are such a bureaucracy trying to sell other products that they could care less about keeping their existing customers. Terrible, terrible service, you get no technical support and they could care less for helping their customers. This company is losing customers right and left to Ring and all the other alarm service companies, and they deserve it. Don't waste your time with them. read more

I was attacked in my home last summer and AFT SHOWED UP THAT DAY, installed a system and wete so amazing that I referred my friends. I was FORCED to move in with my parents due to a terminal illness. Almost 700 dollars to break my contract. I was given a corporate email to ask for a compassionate exception. I wrote them, and sent a copy of my cancer filled pet scan so they would know I was not making it up. Now it's headed to collections, the only mark on my perfect credit. I was hoping they would at least RESPONDED. Makes me very sad. read more

Sent in a written notice of cancellation via email only to be told months later that they have specific policies regarding cancellations that include a wet signature- your business email isn't going to cut it, going to a specific email- cannot use to rep who sets up the accounts and provides copies of bills, and they cancel int he order they get them not based on that date you email in. read more

ADT is the most incompetent, untrustworthy, alarm service I have ever experienced in my entire life. They are deceitful and dishonest. I cancelled my contract, after learning our HOA provided alarm service, which is included in our HOA fees. Our HOA informed us that ADT was aware of the inclusion. They deceitful withheld this information and allowed us to enter a contract with them and refused to end the contract. After fulfilling the contract we received another bill for 1,000.00. They transferred us to one person after another, continually held on the phone for hours. Spoke to about 10 employees, each one told me something differently. I was informed by several employees that the problem was resolved and yet almost a year later I am still fighting this battle. I have had to contact my lawyer to file a suit against them for my mental anguish and harassment. read more

I looked in adt as we have a system in the shop I work at. I booked appointment and plan to pay all installation up front and was assured by one of the people I talked to that they would not pull credit as I did not need a hard pull on my credit report. The installer came out and was polite and early. His manager showed up and seemed to rush him through everything. When setting up sensor they mis keyed motion sensor as door sensor which I caught later and had to have adt phone support fix. Then 24 hours later a window sensor fell off window. I reinstalled it and it functions as should now. When I paid for equipment I gave him credit card and I specified I wanted the monthly billing going to different card. He had both cards and whether he didn't enter is right or just didn't care it all ended up on one card. Low and behold a month later I have a hard pull showing up on my credit report. So now I have involved equifax credit bureau and have contacted defender security directly who was supposed to review things and get back to me in 24-48 via phone call and send letter via usps. After 5 days I had to call back to find out that they sent a letter and the person I was speaking to couldn't help me any further. So now I am looking at escalating it even further if need be depending on results of letter. ADT security customer service has been helpful but management and their authorized installers are a joke. Their adt phone app is laggy and takes forever to connect. The funny thing is we have same setup with video at shop and have no issues. If you are looking for security system go elsewhere. I would have never took my time out to write this review but it seems shit just keep rolling down hill.
