Jose Magana scamed me. He told me he would help me transfer my service to my new place and instead he opened a 2nd account, changed my password and mother's maiden name so when the alarm went off I did not know which house I was being notified. I called the monitoring service, and they couldn't provide info because I didn't have the code word or mothers maiden name. The 800# said I had to call Direct Protection Security directly to resolve this. I tried, but Jose and his office staff Yesnenia stopped answering my call, and Jose just sent me a text saying he had canceled my accounts. When I called ADT corporate again, they said accounts are both still open. I have reported him to the BBB and put in a complaint with local law enforcement. He is a scammer. Don't do business with Jose Magana from Merced ! Installation was as good as their customer service! Piece of crap! read more

It doesn't deserve not one star!! WORST SERVICE AND LOW QUALITY EQUIPMENT!!! OWNER JOSE AND HIS WIFE THAT WORKS FOR HIM ARE SO UNPROFESSIONAL!! THEY JUST WANT TO TAKE YOUR MONEY!! The team of installers didn't do a good job installing anything and left holes in my wall and the door sensors fell out which would trigger the alarm system! I was out of town on the weekend and the damn sensor fell, which I didn't know and I got a call from them ADT customer support asking me if I want the police to come if I'm not home I told him absolutely. First thing they had the wrong address on the contract and I told them that was not my address Jose said he would change it which he never did. Then the cops come couldn't find nobody around my house so they left and I ended up with a $100 Merced city bill for false alarm.!! So I just rushed back home ruined my weekend plans just to find out that it was the damn sensor on the ground! SMH I was pissed. I called them to just come pick up the equipment which they charged me $300 to come pick it up and they left a mess with holes on the wall and metal staples on the ground. The worst thing is they were still charging my card monthly without even having equipment I would call customer service always getting the runaround saying I would get my money back which I never did. Do not fall for the lies "sales person" JOSE Magaña says!!!! He showed up to our home promising a "30 day free trial" with free installation and termination. He did not state that the Alexa or Google hub would be extra charge. The technician during set up was inexperienced (he must have been new because Jose showed up unannounced to check on him). The technician brought the wrong color Yale lock and had to call another technician because he did not know how to set it up. He did not help set up our code and did not provide us with the master code for it. The set up required a second appointment in which a different technician came to install the cameras (should be noted that we were not informed it would require making holes). This technician dirtied our walls, made horrible holes on the walls, and did not clean up leaving obvious wires on the floors. Mind you, this is a new build home. The memory cards for the cameras were not provided. The cameras have limited storage which defeats the purpose of having a security system. We communicated our concerns to Jose and he promised a technician would be going over to fix the issues but did not follow through. Jose's priority is to sell to more clients than keep the current ones happy. Trying to cancel the service has been a nightmare. The phone operators do not know anything and often provide contradicting information. They tried charging us $250 cancellation fee + 1 month service despite JOSE assuring it would be a "30 no commitment and no cancellation fee". read more

Do not waste your time! The sales rep Derek is cocky and pushy, the installers are never on time nor do they carry the correct equipment for install. I gave them multiple opportunities to install the equipment and to use their service. They don't take responsibility for anything and they are so rude and pushy I ended up having to block the rep Derek from my phone and ended up filing a complaint with the corporate office.
