After checking out some other options, I ended up choosing my dress at Adrienne's! The store is definitely more old school vibes. One bride at a time and it's pretty much a one woman show. Receipts are all manual paper and communication is done via email. I was the one to reach out about my first fitting to organize, so you might need to be a little on top of scheduling (but that could also just be my anxious bridal brain reaching out super early). Maryann has a great selection. Most things are more traditional in style and I was worried I wouldn't find the right one but my dress felt unique to me. I got so many compliments on my wedding day. Maryann has a great eye and let me try on SO many dresses. She helped advise based on the venue and weather. She even recommended I get a block heel shoe because of the gravel. Something I wouldn't have thought about at all. She's a real veteran! I had a tight budget of $1,500 that I struggled with at other places. At another spot I even had someone put a dress on me that was $3,500 without telling me. Maryann was so respectful about my budget. When I sheepishly told her my cap she said, "oh, no problem! We'll find your dress!" She has a big selection with a lot of affordable options. All the alterations are done in house. They were more expensive than I expected at around $900 but they were great. Overall, I'd really recommend at least checking out Adrienne's to try on some dresses. She's got a great selection and you'll get a lot of support with your selection. read more

I wish I had believed the negative reviews about Adrienne's, many of which echo the disappointment I now feel. I purchased my wedding dress here for my June 2025 wedding. While I initially loved the dress I found, the overall process was stressful, poorly handled, and incredibly disappointing. My first appointment was in June 2024 (just shy of a year out from my wedding date), and I placed a deposit that day on a dress I loved. My first fitting was on July 26, 2024, and I was told to wait until after the holidays for the next one. After emailing in January 2025, I was told fittings could begin in late March or early April. A second fitting scheduled for April 5 was canceled due to the owner's family emergency. We rescheduled for April 19, where I tried on the dress after the first round of alterations. While the hem fit fine, the straps didn't sit correctly, and the cups inside the dress were loosely sewn and noticeable from the top. After adding a few pins for further alterations, Maryann (the owner) recommended shipping the gown to me since only minor adjustments were needed to fix the straps and cups. After multiple emails with no response, I had to call twice before the dress was finally shipped. It arrived on May 20 (less than a month before my wedding), and I was devastated by its condition. The dress arrived wrinkled and dirty instead of pressed and cleaned, but the truly devastating part was the awful alterations. The neckline, which only needed slight adjustments, had been cut from scoop to square, the cups were still poorly sewn, the straps were uneven, and the back puckered. We sent photos and spoke to Maryann, who offered to fix it if we returned to NYC or pay for alterations here in Maryland. After months of poor communication and rushed work, we no longer trusted her and opted to have a local seamstress attempt to fix the dress. Our local seamstress confirmed that the neckline had been cut (despite Maryann assuring us it hadn't) and had to completely reconstruct the front using the material from the back bow, which had been one of my favorite details. The emergency alterations cost $500 and were completed just 3 days before my wedding. Maryann reimbursed us for alterations plus $200, but we did not find this acceptable compensation, as the dress no longer matched the original design, and her handling of the problems was dismissive and unprofessional. I have full documentation of this timeline. While I appreciate the partial reimbursement, the poor communication, missed deadlines, and awful alterations caused enormous stress in the final weeks before my wedding. I said yes to my dress at Adrienne's!! And I said yes to my alterations and my dress cleaning/preservation there too. I do love versatile and one-stop-shop businesses So bit of a backstory: I first went shopping for my Nov 2023 wedding dress in October of 2022. Adrienne's was the second bridal shop I went to after going to a local David's Bridal. I was there for a Lillian West trunk show. I actually almost said yes to a Lillian West dress sample at the time, but after mulling over it, I decided that I had more than enough time for my wedding, so I actually walked away from the dress. Which is fine, wasn't the right one for me in the end. I went dress shopping at 2-3 other bridal shops (and made multiple trips back to previous shops) before somehow, I found myself back at Adrienne's again in February of 2023 for another trunk show. I think it was one of Justin Alexander's cheaper lines. Anyway, at that point, I was a little jaded with dress shopping. And I had changed my dress vision too. I had originally wanted a simple A-line gown, but now I was dead-set on getting an affordable ballgown with sleeves and lace. Yeah, I put myself in a tough situation, for sure. And I was running out of time. During my appointment, I remember being stuck between an affordable but less fancy ballgown option (less than $1200) and a less affordable but fancy ballgown option (full retail price is more than $2200). But Maryann worked her magic and brought down the cost of the dress by a couple of hundred and threw in a veil as part of the deal. I was sold! I said yes to Martin Thornburg's 2021 Brier dress! The full train was to die for. The gown definitely wasnt exactly what I had envisioned for my day. Im not going to lie, I had a tiny bit of dress regret after getting it. Even after the discount, it was still so expensive. But when it came time to go in for my first dress alteration appointment, I put the dress on and thankfully didn't feel disappointment. Maryann worked for almost 2 hours during that initial alteration I was so worried she'd faint. Subsequent dress appointments were less time-consuming, thankfully. Maryann did a great job with the bustle and also getting the dress to fit perfectly. The bustle made me feel like Cinderella! I was a little nervous about my dress being finished on time, as it was peak wedding season. But Maryann delivered, for sure. Tbh I didn't bother checking around NYC for other alteration places, as wedding dresses are kind of ridiculously hard to carry around. Maryann does offer a max cap of $795 on all alterations. I think this is a pretty good deal for a ballgown as lacey and full as mine. Maryann had the dress all steamed and packed up when I went to pick up the dress. When I wore the dress on my wedding day, the dress wasn't wrinkled or anything and it looked great. I got many compliments (especially on the cathedral length train). I also do love that Maryann also offers cleaning and preservation of dresses to her brides as well at an affordable price ($300). I took a lot of outdoor pictures so the train of my dress was pretty dirty. And because of my shoes (stiletto heels) some of the underlayer tulle was torn as well. But Maryann helps with that too. Overall, Im really glad I went to Adrienne's for my dress. Her dress selection is good and the location was pretty accessible to me as well. I bought my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses from Adrienne's and they were all so beautiful. When I first started looking for a dress I was planning on having an outdoor wedding so I decided on a simple no-frills gown that was beautiful but not really me. By the time I came back to find dresses for my bridesmaids, I had a whole new venue and realized that I was not happy with the dress I originally chose. Maryann allowed me to change my dress although I already placed an order. That meant so much to me because I wanted to walk down the aisle in something that made me feel like I was glowing. Side note, I strongly encourage you to have your venue set and preferred style before you start shopping for a dress because that will help you pick your perfect dress the first time. There is no guarantee that you will be able to change your dress last minute and you risk getting hit with late fees. I loved that every time I came to try on my dress Maryann would let me strut in it for a bit. I would look in the mirror, dance in it, try on my veil and just imagine myself on that day. My daughter's matron of honor led us to Adrienne's because the shop carried a few of the designers my daughter had on her list. As we made our way there on a freezing Sunday afternoon, I was questioning whether there could really be a special bridal shop on Orchard Street. I thought all the bridal shops were all Uptown or near David's Bridal. I was a rookie at the whole Mother of the Bride mode of operation, but I thought I knew the city. So, I walked along Orchard Street feeling a bit jaded; expecting my daughter and her best friend to point to a knock off store or a 2nd floor showroom. I was delighted when I saw Adrienne's window display, the dresses, the hats, the accessories and the inviting Manhattan boutique style shop. We weren't greeted with champagne or by a receptionist. We came in out of the cold to be personally greeted by Mary Ann, the owner. We had a personal appointment with her and she was ready for us. Her boutique felt intimate and very feminine -- like a bedroom with exposed brick and warm lights and lovely textures and everything bridal. I loved that Mary Ann wasn't a place that was a constant buzz of sales people, customers, rush hour fitting rooms and a cross-section of multiple bridal party chatter. I had a wonderful experience at Adrienne's, and with its owner Maryann. I wished I had visited her store first, as it would have saved me a lot of time dress shopping. I live in NJ, and I went to several high-end stores to try on dresses from my favorite designer Lillian West. I went to diamond locations which were supposed to carry an array of dresses from her brand, and they didn't have the selection of dresses that Maryann had. When I went to Adrienne's to place my order, she still allowed me to try on 2 other dresses from Lillian West that I could not find in NJ. Maryann wanted me to be 100% confident when choosing my final dress, which I appreciate. She offered me a fantastic deal on my dress, making my trip into the city worth it. What I appreciate about Maryann is the value of her word. If Maryann tells you she is going to call you back, she does. If she tells you the dress is this price, it is. She is not in the bridal industry to be a saleswoman, but to help brides find their perfect dress. The bridesmaid dress experience has probably been the most stressful part of my wedding. TLDR: Stay far, far away. 3 of my bridesmaids and I went to Adrienne's to pick out bridesmaid dresses, both for my wedding and for one that we were also in as bridesmaids. We had a really fun experience in the store and ordered our dresses the same day because Maryann was willing to price match the website. I felt good about all of this because we ordered dresses in May that were for September and October weddings. We were told to expect our dresses at the beginning of August - plenty of time for alterations. The beginning of August rolled around and we didn't hear anything. I started trying to call the store and found it very challenging to speak to anyone, or even get a simple callback. When I did get Maryann on the phone she chatted with me like nothing was wrong at all, but I made my anxieties know. One of the other bridesmaids started calling too because it was a month before the September 12 wedding, and we still hadn't gotten our dresses. Maryann told us it was factory and shipping delays with the brand...but there were 9 other girls who ordered dresses from the brand's website in May and got their dresses in July. We eventually got those dresses ONE WEEK before the September wedding. Thankfully the bride changed our dresses anyways because there was no way we would have gotten them altered in time. Now everyone started getting anxious about the dresses for my wedding, which is in October. Again, we called for updates and were told the same thing. Eventually, she told my bridesmaids to stop calling her and she would only communicate with me! Can you imagine any other store doing that? It wasn't my money or my dress on the line and truth be told, I had 1,000 other things to worry about. I don't feel bad for her if she thinks she was being harassed - 2 calls a week is nothing, especially when it is literally your job. Finally, we got these dresses with 4 weeks to spare. She then overcharged two of my bridesmaids and delivered a different dress than what was tried on in-store. One of the issues with the payment is that on one of the invoices, she didn't write down what my bridesmaid paid as a deposit. She said she had it in her head but bank statements don't lie. The customer service has been so poor that it's not even worth it to fight the charges. I had such high hopes because of our positive in-person experience but once we got out the door, everything changed. It was not worth the stress. read more

I don't even know where to start with this one. This shop is A-MA-ZING, but what is even more amazing is the owner, queen, and BRIDAL WIZARD Maryann Greco. I cannot even begin to explain how incredible she is. She knew I wanted a jumpsuit, she had it for me to try on, but then blew my mind when she said "Well, why don't I make you a skirt to wear on top for the ceremony..." --something I thought about, briefly mentioned, but didn't even think was possible. OH, with Maryann anything is possible. Once my jumpsuit arrived I went in for several fittings...I think 4 in the month leading up to the wedding, and each one was over an hour--sometimes 2! Didn't bother me...I never felt rushed, flustered, or overlooked. Maryann is incredibly detailed, diligent, and patient with her work. We completely changed the neckline and sleeves of the original jumper and she made every element of it fit like a glove. No one else has the same one as me-period. You do not get this kind of treatment when you go to any other shop. Not to mention she made me a CUSTOM SKIRT to the shape and fabric of my liking--that PERFECTLY matched my jumpsuit. (no one knew I had the jumpsuit on--including my husband, until the first dance, btw) IT WAS EPIC. I am so happy to have met Maryann and to have worked with Adrienne's Bridal. There is something so vintage and classic NY about it--but also so contemporary and hip...a feel that can't be reproduced any where else in the world. I loved working with Maryann! Seeking an affordable option for a one-of-a-kind, modest dress, a friend of a friend recommended Adriennes. It was super easy to make an appointment, and Maryann was thoughtful and professional, and did a great job selecting dresses that would complement my figure (I'm pretty busty). Not that it mattered --- I loved the first dress she picked! She was super responsive regarding questions about fittings, and accommodated me for a final fitting prior to my move from NYC to Texas. She also worked with one of my bridesmaids who lives in NYC (and who also has a demanding schedule) to arrange an appointment to learn how to bustle my dress. We were asked after every single dress of "it was the one" it felt very pushy, complete with a price tag announcement upon each dress. We were not allowed to take any pictures. How can you possibly remember what a dress looked like and be able to decide later on with our photos to reference? The model photos Do not look the same as it's important to see the dress on your own body and not a professional airbrushed model. The environment was stuffy, rude, and SO awkward. I originally found Adrienne's through a search for a designer I was interested in trying on. Adrienne's was having a trunk show so I called and made an appointment. This was only the second place I had been to. I had first gone to a local shop and found things that were nice, but nothing felt like IT. The shop is unassuming which gives it a more relaxed vibe, instead of one of those shops that feels like they're more about the experience with champagne and show. I pulled a few things from the shelf and then based on that, Maryann brought me something special from downstairs. I loved almost every dress I tried on there, and had a tough time between 3, and Maryann and Carol were very patient and I tried all 3 on again atleast once more. Finally I decided on the one that was almost perfect. It was missing just a little extra something - I had wanted a bit of sparkle to my dress, but am not an ornate and beaded person. Maryann suggested adding a sequin lace layer underneath. The prices were so reasonable, we put a deposit down and I tried patiently to wait the 6+ months for my dress. I was so excited to try it on again. Once it finally came in, Maryann spent hours at my first fitting getting everything right. After that, she spent 3 days adding the sequins layer and at the second fitting, I was blown away by how it looked. Before I begin, Carol the original sales woman who helped my mother was very kind, patient, and helpful. It is a shame that other people in a workplace can completely overshadow what could have been a good experience and deter others from shopping there.. I am in utter disbelief of the poor customer service that ensued after we tried to cancel my mother's order WITHIN the guidelines of their contract. According to their contract you can make a cancellation for a full refund if you are not purchasing a brides dress, and if you cancel within 24 hours. If you purchase a brides dress and cancel within the 24 hours you must still pay a $100 cancellation fee... totally fine. My mother (not a bride) put a deposit down and cancelled within 24 hours. Maryann then writes us an email stating that they spent 2.5 hours with her and that she is responsible for the payment of $100. What? Not only is that no where in the contract but she is completely trying to take advantage. Talk about being a thief! I have worked in retail for 18 years. You win some and lose some. True retail professionals know it is a part of the industry you accept, that you may very well spend a lot of time with someone and lose the sale anyway. The client does not pay UNLESS you have a consultation fee which they absolutely do not have. My mother is non confrontational and tried to negotiate it down to $60. However this is not for negotiation. We will not negotiate with someone to give us back money that is ours, and have already taken steps to dispute the charge. Businesses are taken to court everyday for these things. It is so unfortunate that places like these exist and are the very reason why people don't like to shop and do not trust sales people. Nope..I was wrong. I was ready to buy my bridesmaid dresses and she made me make an appointment to pay. TO PAY! So i made my appointment for 11 am on a saturday, my mom came in from long island...and she never showed up. We showed up at 10:45, the place was closed. Ok fine...we were early. 11 rolled around, then 11: 10, then 11:15...no show. My mom and I left. I emailed the owner telling her that we were going to take our business elsewhere. She emailed me back, telling me she wrote the time down wrong (even though this was through though the email chain where it clearly stated what time we were coming in). She then called me and told me she would "match any price" so clearly the amount she quoted me was not the actual price of the dress. I looked the dresses up on bridesmaids.com and the prices were 50 bucks cheaper each. She told me she would give me a discount for buying them all together...a 15% discount..wouldn't bring them even close to the price I got them for. Seriously. Avoid this place. Save yourself some money and buy them from a more reputable store. read more

Mary Ann (the owner) personally helped me and she pretty much closed down her boutique for me for about 2 hours on my first appt. The boutique was small but she had beautiful selection of dresses. I fell in love with the 2nd dress I tried on. My sister & I both started crying and I knew it was the one. It was a beautiful Jim Helm dress. Adrienne was very kind and made the entire process easy. Came back for my fitting and everything turned out perfectly. The top part of my dress was straight and she altered it to a soft sweet heart shape. I planned a trip to the city with some family and friends to try on dress. I was obsessed with Lillian West and this was the only store I could find it in. There were 5 dresses that I wanted to try on. This was the first stop and the first time I ever tried on a wedding dress. I emailed the owner to ask about it. She ask if I could come in sooner as in like two months prior as she might not have the dresses available. The week of I come to find out there was only one dress available. I still went anyway as she assured me She had many other Lillian West dresses. So against my better judgement I went. We all came in and we're greeted. We wondered the store and picked out some dresses. The sales associate was not super helpful. I wanted to try on Lillian West but was never directed to which dresses were hers. I ended up trying on many dresses. All of which felt dated and not the feel I was going for. I was given dresses that were totally not my style or what I had described. They weren't excited and almost rude. They wouldn't let any of my friends take pictures of the dresses I was trying on. They didn't get to know me as a bride at all. There was one dress that I liked. They wrote down the price and we kept asking for the designers name and instead of getting it - they just kept brushing us off. They told us to just give them a call to discuss details. I purchased a bridesmaids dress through Adriennes and had a negative experience with the customer service here. I ordered the dress in March (for a wedding in September) and was told it would be in by July. By the third week in July I hadn't heard from them and started calling myself, only to be told that they would go and look for my dress and call me back. For two weeks I called and was told the same thing, or my calls were not returned at all. Finally they let me know my dress came in and we schedule a fitting for mid-August. The first fitting went fine. For my second fitting, i get a call the night before asking if I can come in later, as she has overbooked her day. I agree to come an hour later, and when I show up she is still fitting another woman in her dress and she asked me to come back in 20 minutes. I do, and it then takes her 25 minutes to find my dress. Finally I try on my dress and the alterations somehow look worse than before. I politely ask that a few more alterations be made to make the top fit me more comfortably. The woman is clearly annoyed with me and keeps telling me that the seamstress is going to "kill her" because she was sending the dress back for more alterations. She asks if I can wait around for the seamstress to make the adjustments and I let her know that I'm strapped for time because I'm on my lunch break from work and am already late since my appointment didn't start on time. She quickly comes back, the alterations are WORSE and she declares that I'll have to come back another day. I come back 3 days later, she has to make one more alteration after I tried it on and I just left with the dress, pretty unsatisfied with the outcome. I can't say that I blame the seamstress or the woman fitting me in the dress as it wasn't the easiest to work with, (although the other bridesmaids dresses weren't creased and bunched up at the neckline like mine ended up being) but I felt rushed and like I was inconveniencing the staff throughout the entire experience. My experience with Maryann at Adrienne's was nothing short of spectacular. Her shop was the last one that I was visiting so I had seen it all by then and I felt right at home there. She was kind, helpful, and personable and we had a blast trying on dresses. I found my dress there in 2019 and was planning for a June 2020 wedding. We had to cancel due to COVID and ended up having a small ceremony in August. Of course with all that is going on in the world my dress was MIA for a bit. The factory had been shut down for quite some time and I was prepared to say goodbye to my dress thinking that it wouldn't be here in time. Maryann could not have been more communicative and reassuring. But the best part was that she did absolutely everything in her power to make sure my dress would be finished and went above and beyond to get it to me. I was extremely nervous about finding the right kind of dress...all i wanted was something fairly classic and not strapless. Klienfeld's basically laughed me out of their store with this request, which was quite disheartening. I happened to walk by Adrienne's Bridal one day, as I worked nearby. I was immediately overwhelmed by the gorgeous selections they had with some sort of strap/cap sleeve/anything to make me more comfortable on my special day! They were able to then tailer the dress to fit what I was looking for exactly, including some extremely delicate and detailed lace work. I would recommend a meeting with MaryAnn and Adrienne's bridal before going any where else first! read more

TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD shop!! DISHONEST. and will SCREW YOU OVER on your wedding day! I ordered my dress from Adrienne's 7 month's before the wedding date. It was a Jim Helm gown priced at $4000 and I was told I needed to pay before they can have the dress made. I paid that day and was told by the owner herself, who assisted me, that I would get my dress in 3-4 months. IN SHORT, no dress ever came!! I called 4 months before and they told me they are still working on it. I called 3 months before and they told me again they need more time. I called 2 months before and was told the same. Then I started calling every week and they told me to just wait, it'll be ready, each time making up a new excuse ONE WEEK BEFORE MY WEDDING day, there was still no dress!!! Now as you all know, there is enough stress in wedding planning, and a girl does not need her wedding dress to be MIA. I called and told them I wanted my dress, they said it was not done I said I want my money back and cancel the contract, my wedding day was in 1 week!!! Guess what? She refused because she said that they already started working on it. Long story short, I had to engage the help of a lawyer to come forward and call and tell them the contract was breached, the dress was suppose to be ready 3-4 months before hand and they failed to tender the dress. Yesterday I had the misfortune of having to purchase a bridesmaid's dress at Adrienne's. I went there because I knew they would have a dress in my sister's color palette, and I wanted to get the whole thing out of the way. I was sneered at, barked at, and pretty much made of fun to my face by Allison, because I didn't purchase my dress a year in advance. The following is an excerpt from a letter I had written to owner Gina DeSilva: begin--- I was rudely greeted by Allison at the door. When I explained my situation, she barked, "You need a dress for OCTOBER of THIS YEAR? No. That's impossible. We can't order anything in that short of time." To be clear, I understand the folly of my thinking, and that I had grossly underestimated the process involved in ordering a bridesmaid dress. What I do not understand, is why someone who is supposed to be helpful in a situation such as mine, was as callous and outwardly mean. So, I asked her if I could come in and look at the floor samples. She snarled as she let me in, but I went through and chose some dresses to try on. A half hour later, I was deliberating between two Vera Wang dresses that, with a little altering, will fit perfectly and the colors were perfect. There. Just like that, big freakin' quandary resolved. As I was going through my last run-through of the racks, I noticed from the corner of my eye that the other assistant (I didn't get her name) was about to ask me if I needed help. Then Allison did something truly appalling: she motioned for the young lady not to bother with me and even said "No... I mean, ARE YOU CRAZY" and just shook her head and motioned for her to help with phone calls, while she shoved Thai food into her face. (!) I didn't make a "big deal" of it at the time -- I just paid for my dress and left. I am only telling you because as a business owner, I think you should know how Allison is representing (or rather, misrepresenting) your fine establishment. Ultimately, I am just happy to have found a fantastic dress. But I would be remiss not to mention to you the ill treatment I received from your employee. ---end The response I received made it clear to me that the owner had not even read my letter, and she didn't offer a hint of an apology. Bottom Line: I highly recommend you go elsewhere for your bridal needs. Finding the right dress for such an important day is hard enough without having to deal with rude salesgirls. And Allison ... It's a f*ck$ng dress. You're not exactly effecting social change, toots. read more

*DISCLAIMER: i didn't get a chance to actually go to the store.... the email customer service was disgusting enough to turn me away I currently live in lower manhattan and pass by Adrienne's on a daily basis. Its kinda empty, but pretty looking, and seeing how I'm getting married soon.... I figured I should check out whats in my local neighborhood! So I call the store, get the machine which suggested I go online to email them an appointment time. I do so, they get back to me, we settle on a time. The next day I get an email from Adrienne's asking for my credit card info; apparently they charge $50 bucks for a no-show or cancellation within 24 hours. I was miffed! why? Because theres nothing on their website mentioning this at all, I pass by their store daily and its FREAKING EMPTY all the time, and no, I really just don't like giving credit card info in an email.... how secure is your email? Not secure enough to give me peace of mind! I email back saying I live nearby, can we forgo the credit card? I get a response saying i can stop by with the credit card instead. I email again saying, just cancel the appointment please. I added 1 line mentioning how I made appointments with other bridal shops without credit card holds, and 1 more line stating the fact that this hold isnt specified on the website. Then I receive another email back from Adrienne SCOLDING ME! Adrienne goes on to tell me how ALL OF THE MAJOR BRIDAL SHOPS HOLD CC INFO! well.... you're not a major shop.... youre a tiny store in the Lower East Side that is perpetually empty when I walk by DAILY. Esteban is the most unprofessional person I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. The cost of alterations was over $500 and they didn't even finish hemming it. My freakin' mother had to finish sewing it up for me! Also, what is the point of making an appointment? I went to pick up my dress and there were 4 other women there and I just had to stand and wait for an hour. They also had me running back and forth across the street to pay for things.... Don't do it ladies. There are a million bridal shops in NYC. Forget this one. read more

When we showed up at Adrienne's, the place was a mess. Ten girls clustered on the floor in the back unattended, their voices rising in dissatifaction. Our appointment was for 11 AM on Sunday, so I can't imagine the frustration of the girls in front of us who had roused themselves even earlier to show up for an appointment that never occurred. We waited half an hour, the lady never materialized, and the dresses were too disorganized for us to make an effective selection. Go to David's Bridal - don't waste time on the trip here. read more

I didn't go in, but called for information. The lady was pretty rude and it seemed like I was inconveniencing her. I asked if I could come in to try on the bridesmaid's dress my friend picked out for her wedding, and she told me I couldn't try dresses on unless I was going to buy it. Uhmmm.... excuse me? Probably would have bought it from her if she was polite and friendly. After all, this is for a WEDDING. A joyous, loving, fun occasion for my best friend of 12 years. All set. It's times like these I hate that Yelp makes you give one star... I recently got married overseas, and my sister and maid of honor came here to get her bridesmaid dress. Being that the wedding was the last week in June, her placing the order in February should have been no problem - especially considering she was told that the dress would be ready the beginning of May. May came and went, and the woman (don't know her name because she never bothered to share that information) started ignoring my sister's phone calls and emails. Each time my sister called she'd send her immediately to voicemail. Finally, I (THE BRIDE) was able to get in contact with her, probably only because she didn't recognize my number. She gave a million excuses, several delayed promised deadlines, but eventually got the dress to the shop on the Tuesday before my sister was due to fly out. This all about a week and a half after getting in contact with her, and a month and a half after the dress should have been ready. Because of this ridiculous delay, she was unable to get the alterations (it was swimming on her) and had to find a tailor overseas. My sister lives in Miami, so the dress needed to be shipped to her. After all that trouble, do you think this woman offered to pay for shipping? NOPE. I had to fight to have it comped. To add insult to injury, I told her that she was flying out Friday afternoon, so we would need Friday morning delivery. Luckily, I added a day's buffer, because she completely disregarded that request and the dress came at 7PM on Friday. If the flight date happened to be true, the dress would have arrived well after my sister's flight. Judging by the other reviews, I guess we should count ourselves lucky that we even got the dress. How - and why - do you find yourself in the business of delivering such an important item for such an important day, when you so clearly don't care? read more

Final update (on my dress, anyway...I'm actually going back this week with a girlfriend who has purchased her wedding dress here as well). Fittings went swimmingly, dress was finished on time, and beautiful! The day I went in for pick-up was a little stressful, because there was a new lady in there who wasn't sure whether or not my dress was actually ready. Once Maryann showed up, though, she took care of everything. Dress was pressed, put on a plastic dress form, and had it packed up for my cross-country travel. To be perfectly honest, I can see how this might not be the place for the Type-A bride. Maryann basically does everything on her own, and she's always busy. Always. She definitely does her best to protect your time in the shop, but sometimes, there is overlap and waiting. But for me, the fact that this place doesn't feel like a bridal factory was totally worth the extra minutes I spent waiting on things. By the time I decided on my dress, did all the fittings, and brought my dress home, I felt like I really had a solid relationship with Maryann, instead of just being bride number 15. I really do highly recommend this place, especially if you're looking for a dress that's a little bit vintage, a little bit unusual, and not hard on the pocketbook. read more

It has taken me a year and a half to cool off from my atrocious experience at Adrienne's bridal, but I'm ready to share my story now. The short version: three weeks before my wedding, I went to pick up my dress, and it was ruined beyond repair. The longer version: when I first went into Adrienne's, I told them I was looking for a lace dress with sweetheart neck and cap sleeve. I was assured that any of the strapless dresses on the rack could be altered to fit my vision. I selected a dress and ended up also selecting a bridesmaid dress from the shop. As the wedding date approached closer, I could never seem to get ahold of Mary Ann to schedule my alteration fittings. I can't tell you how many unanswered phone calls, unreturned phone calls, unreturned emails, & hang ups on my bridesmaids happened. Also, she could never remember my name and would always call me by the wrong name. This is not a way to operate a business! When I finally did get ahold of her, the fittings never seemed to go well; the problems that should have been fixed on the dress from the previous fittings were never resolved by next time I went in. I, myself, have spent my career working in apparel manufacturing, so it concerned me enough to take one of my technical designers from work with me to oversee the next fitting. When I scheduled my final fitting to try on the dress one last time and most likely take it home, I was feeling uneasy still, and my parents were too. My mom, a seamstress, was so concerned she flew up to NYC to go with me to make sure I didn't pay the balance on the dress and leave with it unless it was PERFECT. It's a good thing she did... When I walked out of the dressing room, I stood in front of the mirror silent, with tears rolling down my cheeks. These were not tears of joy, but tears of horror of what was before my eyes: 1) The dress had been hemmed too short for my shoes, even though I had my shoes with me at all of my fittings. 2) The lining had been taken in too much and was causing a bubble at the hips 3) The sleeves were still unfinished, and the lace they used did not match the lace on the dress 4) The center point of the sweetheart neck was off-center, and the shape looked like a giant, "M," instead of a smooth curve. It also was not symmetrical, and the lining was rolling out the top on one side. My perfect day was not looking promising. That's when my mom dragged Mary Ann to the back and told her how it was going to go down: she was going to get me a new dress, and we weren't paying her a penny more. To complicate matters, the store was moving to a new location that week, so everything was packed up. We started unpacking boxes and bags, desperately searching for a sample that wasn't too small or too damaged to turn into my wedding dress. By the grace of God, we found something in all the ruckus, but had I not been an off-the-rack sized customer, I would have been SOL. All in all, this store has beautiful dresses, but I would not wish my experiences upon ANY bride! STAY AWAY!!! read more

I bought my wedding dress with Marianne's help at Adriene's Bridal and had a WONDERFUL experience. Marianne was very helpful and patient while I was exploring different dress options over a few separate trips. I never felt pushed into making a decision. Once I picked my dress, it was a pretty easy process to actually buy it and communicate with Marianne about when it would arrive. We had a few alteration sessions - mainly making some changes to the sleeves and neckline, plus typical stuff like hemline and bustle - and again Marianne was very patient in listening to what I wanted changed and executed well on making the changes. And I absolutely loved my bustle! Overall, I had a really wonderful experience and was happy to shop at a local small business shop for my wedding dress. Thank you, Marianne! read more
