This must be a well-run store, to have handpicked so many people who clearly like what they do. The selection of items was wide, and the value was better than the item's own website.

They no longer have all the inventory out in the store so you basically select the shoe or shoes that you're interested in and go to the kiosk, which is on the extreme left side of the shoe area. This store also has a wide variety of everything sporting goods, beach and camping gear, and beach a sporting apparel (and at decent prices). Oh, and by the way, the AC was a tremendous relief to the FL heat wave thanks to DSG's!!!

He asked if I wanted my receipt which I appreciated since not all places do that. Location of the store is not the best as it is tucked back in the Milennia plaza where there is a lot of traffic. But its a good place to shop if you know exactly what you need and don't mind paying higher prices.

This is a review for their archery department…read more I decided recently that I wanted to get back into archery (which for me means traditional target shooting with a recurve bow). After receiving terrible service at a local shop in Gainesville, my boyfriend (who was buying this for me as a birthday present) and I came here. Upon walking into that section they really only have compound bows for bowhunting on display and some very expensive all wood recurves hanging behind the counter. There were plenty of people behind the counter though, and one man asked if we needed any help. We told him what we were looking for and that I was a novice archer who had last shot about 6 years ago. He promptly pulled a box out from underneath the counter, told us the price and asked if it was in our range. We said yes and he began putting it together for us. After he had put it together and showed me how it was done, he had me draw it. I said it was fine and more than I shot in High School, which is what I'm looking for since my archery teacher was always pushing me to try a stronger resistance. He then showed me a product called a "whisker biscuit" (I know, sounds lewd right?), which is basically a special attachment to help with nocking the arrow. It holds the arrow in place, meaning it won't fall out mid-release...which I agree is a good idea to have for a novice...especially since this has happened to me! So he attached that on for us. I asked him about a sight and he led us over to where they sell them and selected one to recommend at my re quest of a reasonably priced one. He picked one out and I looked at it, and really liked it! Fiber optic sight with several different pins to mark different distances so there is no need for adjustment once you set them. After attaching everything we had picked out he asked if we need it taken back apart and we did so he obliged. He let us know there was a sale on some arrows and we picked them up as well; he cut them to the proper size and then we were ready to check out! I know it kind of sounds like he was trying to upsell me on a lot of things, but he did listen to our concerns about price and we knew exactly what we were buying. When recommending a product he told us exactly what it was and why it was a good idea, but never said it was a necessity. At any time we could have requested something cheaper or different and I'm sure he would have obliged us with no problem. Great experience, excellent service. Will definitely come back if I need anything. I'm just sad they're in Orlando and not Gainesville :(

I really like bass pro, never went to a store that had at least 50% of what they have…read more Started buying fishing rods there and as I was starting fishing a few years ago didn't know which rod buy, so I bought one rod but wasn't sure if that one would be good, I did an insurance that if I didn't like I could return the rod and grab another one (just losing the value that I paid for insurance) was really good because I got one that was so heavy. A few years layer I got my glock 43x Mos over there and they were really nice, explained everything to me. Once in a while I go there to buy ammo and at Christmas time they do have Santa Claus for the kids, so you just need to pay for the pictures (if you want) nothing else. Really cool place!

The service was horrible!! Extremely Disappointing First Experience…read more What an incredibly disappointing experience purchasing my first firearm at Bass Pro Shops. Honestly, if this is how they treat first-time customers, I would think twice before purchasing a firearm from this store. Before making the trip, I called the Orlando location and specifically asked whether having my concealed carry license would allow me to complete the purchase and leave with my firearm that same day. I was told yes, no problem. Based on that information, I drove an hour out of my way to the store. When I arrived, I was then told that I could NOT leave with the firearm because the state-level firearm background check portal/store's background check system closes at 9:00 PM. This was extremely frustrating because I had already taken the time to call ahead and specifically ask about this. Rather than walk away from the purchase, I decided to have the firearm shipped to my local Bass Pro Shops. I asked the salesperson when it would arrive, and I was told Saturday, Sunday at the latest, or Monday. I had a trip planned and was leaving Monday, so this information was important to me. Then I checked the FedEx tracking information and saw that the delivery was scheduled for Tuesday. I contacted FedEx, and they told me the shipper scheduled the delivery for Tuesday. At this point, I am beyond disappointed. This entire situation could have been avoided with simple, accurate communication. I called ahead, asked specific questions, drove an hour out of my way, and still ended up with incorrect information and a delivery date that did not match what I was told. For something as important as purchasing a firearm, customers should be able to expect clear communication, accurate information, and competent customer service. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at the Orlando Bass Pro Shops. This was my first firearm purchase, and instead of being a positive experience, it has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend purchasing a firearm from this location. If you are considering buying one here, I strongly recommend confirming every detail yourself before making the trip because what you are told over the phone may not be what happens when you arrive. True definition of Hidden Gem…read more Was looking for a card shop nearer to home and I can't believe I missed this one! It's tucked away on a strip so its easy to miss especially on OBT while it's busy but i was thoroughly impressed! Like a TARDIS its wayyy bigger on the inside. I got to have an incredibly refreshing conversation with Mike from the shop and i felt like I was being talked to like a human not a potential wallet. And the selection??? Awesome. They have English and Japanese selections of all types of packs and boxes for Pokemon and of course, their specialty and focus is Sports Cards if you're into that! Super fair pricing and also some deals on things at the entrance like binders and loose cards.

Also we can read the 50 signs spread out throughout the store "ALL SALES FINAL - NO RETURNS" and we are totally fine with that, no problem. If you're looking for a typical mall experience on steroids, the Florida Mall is the way to go…read more I've never disliked this mall, but it definitely has a different feel than other local shopping centers. It is filled with tourists due to the connected hotel and proximity to the airport, so even on a Tuesday it felt packed in here. The layout feels almost like a labyrinth but there is a lot of signage on where to go. Most of the stores are ones you can find at most malls, but there are quite a bit of 'unique' stores as well. You've also got the Crayola experience, which is pretty large. While this mall wouldn't be my first choice to go to, it does do the trick if you're needing your fix of big name stores.
